East Sussex National Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Spa resource East Sussex National, and it was truly a remarkable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the tranquil beauty of nature, with a herd of fawn crossing our path, creating a mesmerising and almost spiritual atmosphere. The room was spacious and immaculately clean, providing a comfortable retreat amidst the natural surroundings.

The staff at the restaurant were exceptional, displaying a high level of professionalism and ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of fantastic. However, I do hope that the receptionist at the entrance can slow down her explanation of the facilities, as her fast-paced, robotic tone detracted slightly from the otherwise warm welcome.

At the spa, while the young lady could have smiled more, I understand that it was the end of the day and she may have been tired. Nonetheless, the facilities were outstanding, with the spa, steam room, and swimming pool all being impeccably maintained and providing a truly relaxing experience.

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the delicious breakfast and dinner, which exceeded our expectations in both quality and variety.

Overall, despite a few minor observations, I cannot recommend Spa resource East Sussex National highly enough. We will definitely be returning for another unforgettable getaway.

Lovely hotel and spa, stayed for a package deal that included a spa treat dinner, bed & breakfast. Rooms were a little tired but looks like they are in the process of being refreshed. Food was very nice as was all the communal areas, the views, the spa and all the staff. A nice getaway.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights bed & breakfast. Played 18 hole golf on the East course, very enjoyable. The hotel is spotlessly clean, fresh and modern. The beds and our room were extremely spacious and comfortable - situated on the ground floor, no terrace but wonderful views across the fields, plenty of trees and the golf course. Breakfast and dinner were beautifully presented. All the staff during our stay were very courteous, the best staff l have experienced for a very long time of staying in hotels, all were polite and professional; on reception, in the restaurant, the gym, the golf club house etc. excellent customer service.
The only negative point was the cold swimming pool, it was so busy too. Children were splashing, shouting and under 12s in the hot water spa - no lifeguards seen! Shame parents have no consideration for others using the pool facilities - so avoid the pool area around 4pm ish.
The stay was wonderful in all and wished we had booked longer. We will definitely be back.

I booked a golf break here and felt compelled to write a review. Everything was perfect for the whole stay. Wonderful golf courses, spacious rooms with comfortable beds, amazing spa facilities and above all else, the staff and service were impeccable. Special mention to Jess and Dom who served our dinner (which was really delicious , and big portions!!). Thank you. We will definitely be back!

Staff were all so lovely especially our waitress at dinner in the hotel. Food was excellent! We had a full body massage too which was amazing and the whole spa was very nice, clean and modern. Rooms were delightful, comfy bed, black out curtains, very clean. One thing I loved was the games in the lobby/bar free for guests to use.

the spa which you get included when you stay…was unreal, such a beautiful place…couldn’t recommended anymore!
we will defiantly be making this a regular place to stay! a shame we live too far to become members!

Nice big room and big bed, nice reception staff and bar staff. Lovely breakfast. Fantastic bathroom. The extra small touches that I enjoyed were the lemon and cucumber water dispensers on reception, the bag they give you for your dirty laundry, the retractable washing line over the bath and free access to the pool, sauna and steam room. I really enjoyed my small patio and huge window and could hear deer barking in the evening and watched a green woodpecker mooching around on the grass outside while I ate my breakfast. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels this year with work and this is my favourite.

Had an amazing overnight spa stay. All the staff in the spa, hotel and restaurant were an absolute delight. 3 course menu was divine. Drinks and cocktails great. And the room was stunning. Spa treatments and facilities lovely. Can't wait to come back

A really nice place to stay.
There is a pool and spa that you can use while your there. The room is really comfortable and I had an amazing sleep after a lovely long soak in the bath.
Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of cereals and fruit, juicea and cooked items.
I had a full stomach that set me up for the day.
Definitely recommend and will be staying again, already booked for next year.
Check in was easy and receptionist very helpful.

Very clean and well-kept hotel. We stayed in a luxury suit with a balcony. Was very spacious. The good size pool is a little cold, but that could be personal tastes. Had a full body massage that was lovely. Spa music was a little upbeat than I am used to in a spa but very good around facilities and staff. Food was lovely in both the spa and hotel restaurant. Very good portions sizes and more than happy to accommodate a takeaway dessert so we could enjoy in our room layer. No fridge in the room, so if you are taking your own champagne, etc, you may want to ask for an ice bucket.

Overall, a lovely stay and friendly attentive staff.

Stayed here few times with bf and friends we had a spa deal nights stay with breakfast and mini treatment. Hot tub out of action 😞 bit gutted about that. Breakfast was just warm so opted for continental. Staff lovely very clean hotel

Really impressed. All staff including some very young were very polite and helpful. Toilets spotless and didn't smell bad. Food was great and plenty of it.

East Sussex National Golf Course, home to the East Course, left a lasting impression on me, and I can understand why you loved both the course and its facilities. East Sussex National Golf Course, particularly the East Course, is a golfer's paradise, where the course and facilities combine to create a memorable golfing experience that's hard to forget.

Love this hotel.
Some of the vegan dishes were very bland and they don't stock alcohol free wine. Other than that a lovely stay.

Fantastic hotel, great rooms and top-notch service. Faultless. Far better than any Inns or Lodges.

Came on business, will return for leisure.

Had a 2 day golf trip here in October.
Hotel and facilities were spot on. Group of 24 of us went so we were able to get a good deal on the price. East course was alot better than the West, mainly due to the bad weather and the West course being reduced in length because of this. If I was to return I'd aim to play the East course twice.

Super stay staff go over and beyond to help.
Disappointed with coffee machines at breakfast both ended up not working.
So looking forward to a nice coffee after my early gym session.

Took couple golf tour for 1 night with 2 games. East course was very challenging but really enjoyed both games. Staffs are really friendly and double room are huge.
Three course dinner was great, 5 star for their starters and deserts.
Huge swimming pool and sauna was lovely.
We would definitely come back again.

Just spent a day and an overnight stay here. Boys played golf and couldn't speak more highly of the course. Us ladies usedbthe spa and the facilities were fantastic. Rooms were super clean and comfy. Dinner was delicious. What really made our stay was the fantastic staff. A special shout to Allie in the bar. Fantastic service, always friendly with a smile. We literally could not fault this place and will definitely be back.
