Rochelle's River Cafe

A friend recommended that I visit Rochelles for brunch saying the chef was French and he made a great croque monsieur.
Wow, this place was packed at 11am on a Thursday and i had to queue for a table.
Great menu choice but I came for one dish only....., the French chef made the best croque monsieur I have ever tasted, truly delicious.
Despite being full the service was exceptional with 4 waitresses busy with happy customers.
Upon leaving I asked to see the chef, yes he was French and I told him how great his sandwich was.
Definitely worth another visit.

Came in today for the first time as a group of 6 for breakfast.
Was really impressed with everything. The food was delicious, we all cleared our plates.
Can’t wait to come back again and try the cakes, they all looked incredible but I was too full.
The coffee was also delicious.

I would come for the view and the menu choices but not the coffee. Chips and ice cream are good if eaten separately! Jacket pot probably baked previous day and warmed up, filling was very good. Make sure you order desert separately from the main otherwise they will all come at the same time, that's why my 4 year old had ice-cream and chips together. See owners comment for future reference.

Great place to eat and socialise. A lot of people there because it's popular. Also has seating outside and overlooking the river. A bit cold now but perfect in the Summer.

Wonderful setting alongside the rivers edge. On a sunny day highly recommend you take advantage of the outside seating area, where you can hear the water flowing and the birds tweeting, a lovely atmosphere.

Then comes the attentive staff who will do all they can to ensure your visit is one to remember. The food is local, fresh and delicious... you won't be disappointed.

There is something for everyone whether you are out for morning breakfast, lunch or just after a cuppa and slice of cake, there is a great choice on the menu. A nice selection of wine is also available.

We visited for breakfast a few weeks ago. My partner had a cooked breakfast, but I wasn't sure as I have problems swallowing and choke really easily. But after a quick chat we sorted a solution out which wasn't on the menu but they had the ingredients in the kitchen and I managed to have scrambled eggs and baked beans. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely go back, the service food and view were great.

Lovely riverside restaurant which does superb breakfasts and lunches! I had the crushed avocado with eggs on toast (ser picture). Nice atmosphere with helpful staff members. It is appreciated that this place is dog friendly!

Lovely little cafe by the river. We sat outside ( under cover) right by the river. Had two baguettes with crisps , coleslaw and of course a cheeky beer!

The service was really friendly, they couldn't do enough for us, and the food was lovely. Really lovely setting overlooking the river. We would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Yummy Eggs Benedict, quickly & perfectly served at a very reasonable price - £6.95. Staff very helpful and thoughtful.

Fabulous french influenced riverside cafe in Ivybridge by the side of the River Erme. My favourite is the giant mushroom breakfast.

Always a pleasant experience, we're greeted as if we go there every day, very nice tea and coffee and treated like long lost freinds.

Fantastic food, lovely place and the staff are very friendly.
What more could you ask for 🙂

Oh my goodness. What lovely pleasant and polite staff. I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I've had in a long long time. Quality ingredients and well cooked to my liking (I like really really well done bacon and sausages). Not stingy with the portion sizes either. Coffee was very tasty, I even had a second cup!
Cakes to die for. Prices are good as well. Only downside is I'm now at least a couple of stone heavier after my visit 🤣

I love this place as it is right by the river. Stunning views to stare at. The staff are amazing fast and very helpful. Always have a smile. I love the fact is is dog friendly. The food is tasty and value for money and I would recommend to anybody. Go have a breakfast there it’s lovely. And the cakes are amazing. But I have to say the place could do with a thorough deep clean. Ie. Cups and t pots and milk jars all could do with a good bleaching. All the menus are sticky and dirty finger prints They need a good wipe down every night. And all the jars that hold the sugars are all rusty and need replacing. Sorry to have to say this but although these issues are there it’s is still a lovely place to go for cake and tea.

First time here but will be returning. Nice food and good service. Had their breakfast which was first class. Well worth a visit.
