Clarion Hotel Newcastle South

All the staff were really helpful with all queries and questions. We ate there and the food was lovely and the staff were excellent, especially Grace who took our order etc.

The gym facilities and pool etc were also brilliant. Though the swimming pool was cold.

We were part of a coach trip and stayed for one nights dinner, bed and breakfast. The Hotel was busy with another function and the dinner service was a bit slow getting going, more staff would have helped matters. The Dinner was good, reasonable menu choices. Bar prices a bit steep. Room was good, the a/c heating was pretty useless but the portable heater worked well. Comfortable single beds. Toiletries limited but OK. Breakfast was a bit disorganised, cold plates, coffee machine with limited options. Lack of spare cutlery. Rather cramped buffet style offering. Quirky jam/marmalade dispenser. We didn't see much of the grounds due to the weather and the constraints of the coach travel. Probably 3 or 4 star at a pinch.

I come here to give blood. I have only been once back in January but I'll be back at the end of April. Can't wait! Such a lovely relaxing place to save lives!

We were here on a coach trip. Didn't except much because most of the hotels they use are normally average. This was a great place. The food was great, service was great. Rooms were very great. Staff went out of their way to make it a great time for 2 people in our party celebrating their birthdays.

Drinks were a bit pricey, but it's to be expected in a hotel.

I attended for a conference. Food provided was good. Toilets were clean and plenty of parking available.

Lovely hotel great service.The only thing I found was the radiator in my room rattled when fan was on high but everything else was great.

I use the gym and pool and for what you get the prices are great if you use them more than once a week
Never over busy to get a good swim in then relax in the sauna and jacuzzi
The steam room takes a while to get used to
Plenty free parking too

Just been to breakfast with santa at clarion boldon as a family of 8 service & entertainment was great plus they cudnt do enough for us

We visited this hotel for a private medical appointment with Bluecrest. The hotel was easy to find, and easy to access. Plenty of parking. The receptionist was efficient and friendly. The hotel (what we saw of it) appeared clean and orderly. We tried to have breakfast after our appointments but were too late.

We came down from Scotland for work and didnt know where we would be staying so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
It looked quite basic from outside but when we walked through the doors it was lovely.
Restraunt with little candles flickering, gym and spa to the left,lounge to the right.
The rooms were big and well equipped. Big bathroom with bath which i wasnt expecting.
The rooms and public areas were spotless.
Staff friendly and attentive.
We would come back in a hertbeat.
Also next to a retail park so everything you need at your doorstep.

We have attended a number of events here and have 2 more booked. We were not disappointed. Fingers crossed the next will be as good as the last 🤞

Love this hotel. I'm not a good sleeper, particularly in hotels, but had three nights here now and slept brilliantly each time. Comfy bed, and really quiet. Clean, good little gym, and every staff I met were brill. Highly recommend!

Stayed here overnight on a trip. It was beyond luxury. Eeverything was exceptional. From the rooms to the meals, couldnt fault it. Would highly reccomend. The staff were very helpful at all times 10+ for us

I just want to let you know how very kind Neil and his colleague was last night. Through no fault of the hotel I ended up having to sleep in the car, due to lost car keys (located in the morning!) I didn’t want to leave the car unattended just incase. I went into the hotel around 4.00am. The gentlemen were very kind and considerate and asked if I needed anything, checking I was ok. Neil and his colleagues kindness made a bad night, a bit better. Thankyou.

Me & my son visited for a little night away from our busy life. My son is on a strict diet for a boxing competition this weekend & the staff helped us & made sure he had what he needed for his evening meal & breakfast. Thank you.

Stayed at this hotel last night after attending a beautiful wedding. The staff are a credit to Clarion Hotels, friendly & attentive…special mention to Abigail…🌟.
Hotel room was very clean although I did struggle to find the switch for bedroom side lights & complimentary tea tray located in wardrobe?? which I didn’t discover until the next morning.

Went today for Sunday lunch. Alex who was our server was absolutely fantastic. He catered perfectly to our needs as me and no partner are both vegan and struggled to find anything we could eat on the menu. Alex went out of his way multiple times to make sure everything was OK with our meal. Would definitely recommend going for lunch! Service was great!

Loved our stay st The Clarion for my niece's wedding.

Staff are all exceptional and so helpful.

Food was delicious and oh boy, The Clarion Cocktail was off the charts!

Enjoyed the Sauna, Steam Room , Pool and Jacuzzi too.

We will definitely be staying here again.

Fantastic hotel. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I haven't got a bad word to say about this place and would highly recommend it. Food is good and the hotel itself is very clean. Rooms are a good size and very clean with very comfy beds. Some rooms have fridges and all rooms have an iron and ironing board just in case you're missing the household chores. Would give this place 10 stars if I could.
