The Appleyard

I go there for tai chi, the rooms are lovely, each one different and each one has it's own charms, even the little room. I'd definitely recommend hiring from the appleyard and could really see it being amazing for hosting wedding parties and stuff.

I visited The Appleyard a few days ago with family and a friend and was very impressed with the whole experience.
The staff at both locations were welcoming, polite and helpful.
We had a delicious meal before going on to the Sports Bar for some lively entertainment from the Billy BE Band, which had people singing along to the songs they knew of yesteryear.
One of our party was in a wheelchair and a staff member assisted, getting the wheelchair to the table and back out again when we left.
We couldn't fault The Appleyard and will certainly return there soon.

Just want to say a huge thank you to all members of staff who made my sisters wedding day absolutely beautiful yesterday.
Shout out to Mike, Claire and Sarah for making the entire day come together from beginning to end. We haven't been the most easiest to accommodate for, last minute changes and last minute stress but at every turn we have had support that went above and beyond.
The service room was organised beautifully, the welcome drinks were prompt and handed around, all staff had welcoming smiles, and the venue room - Wow, it looked incredible. From arriving to an empty room to drop off to then returning and seeing it cleaned and dressed to perfection was excellent. You could really see the staff had gone all out to make sure it looked as good as it did.
The food was excellent, three courses all served fresh and hot per table, generous portions given for each course. It really was lovely.
The buffet was lush, again, so much food to offer and the cake was cut for guests and displayed on a platter alongside the buffet.
Bar staff were incredible, smiley chatty and no one was left waiting to long.
All in all, I cannot fault one part of the day. It was delivered beautifully and the end result couldn't have been achieved without the wonderful staff at the Appleyard!
Personal thanks to Mike from me, for making sure I was happy with how things were running throughout. I appreciate all the help and support.
I didn't actually manage to get any photos, but I think Sarah did - hopefully she is able to post a few.
We shall all definitely be returning to try out the carvery in the near future 🐷

To anyone thinking of booking here for any kind of function or attending just for food etc - give it a go. You will not be disappointed.

Great food exceptional service and music incredible. What a place for a night out. Cheap but exceptional.

Attended for a funeral Wake, staff were excellent, buffet was superb, could not fault it.

A lovely place. I simply don't understand why it is so quiet. The restaurant and bar are very comfortable and the service is much better than good. There is a membership fee which is a bargain if you visit more than two or three times a year because members receive a discount on food and drinks. There is also plenty of free parking.

Brilliant Party night. Food excellent.

Food has always been hot, tasty and served promptly by the wonderful staff who are attentive and nothing is too much to ask. They always serve with a smile and are willing to share a little of their time with each and every patron of the establishment.
Highly recommend.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect for the room and how it would be laid out, well I couldn’t believe how lovely it was. Little twinkly lights, lovely atmosphere room. The option to play music via Bluetooth.
The table was pretty with little flower arrangements.
Honestly; I couldn’t be more thankful and delighted with the day.

Our first time at the apple yard for the Sunday carvery and want be our last everything was delicious.

Really lovely staff - so friendly and welcoming. Well cooked homely dishes and a great carvery. Recently had to cancel a birthday meal due to illness and the staff were so understanding and concerned. We’ll continue to be regulars!

Great atmosphere, staff are more than helpful and approachable. Great food and generous portions. Extremely clean public areas . Had a great night out here - will definitely come again

We got married here in September 2021 using the £2000 wedding package and it was absolutely amazing. Everything we wanted it to be. Everything was decorated exactly the way we had asked and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The ceremony was perfect with staff on hand for any last minute issues or changes. The food for the wedding breakfast was absolutely spot on. All the guests commented on how lovely it was. The buffet was also delicious with far more food then we could eat and the cake was cut up and displayed perfectly. Also had the sweet cart which was yummy. The DJ was very nice and played all the music that we had arranged beforehand as well as other songs and by the end everyone was up dancing. The day and the evening were wonderful and its not something I will forget in a hurry. The staff were friendly and very quick at serving drinks and food. There are only 2 things I would say could do with some improvement (that's not to say it ruined the day in any way but maybe a thought for future weddings) the music that I had arranged to play whilst walking down the Isle and at the end of the ceremony had to be put onto a memory stick and on the day it didn't play in the order I wanted so maybe staff could come up with a way to make playing music easier. Also the place where photos are taken could use a bit of sprucing up maybe a nice background or some flowers as at the moment it's just bushes. However neither of these things effected the day and everyone had a brilliant time. Would definitely recommend for any event or even just for food !!! Massive shout out to Claire who was on hand throughout the evening and checked in with me multiple times to make sure everything was OK. Thank you

Had a lovely roast here today with my family. The potatoes and yorkshires were particularly good. Staff were friendly and helpful. As it's a carvery we didn't have to wait long at all. Puddings were tasty. Look forward to returning.

Excellent full breakfast at a reasonable price. Well worth the visit.

We had our wedding here and from start to finish it was brilliant. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive throughout the day and evening as well as in the lead up to the wedding. Definitely worth every penny of what we paid. The waiting and bar staff were excellent and ensured anything we needed was available including supporting with cab numbers at the end of the evening.
