Wonderful gentle walk around the extensive gardens of this beautiful home. Grounds & Gardens are filled with splendid shrubs and plants. The walk to it has breathtaking views over Dartmouth.

National Trust tucked away gem!
Windy local roads to the ehouse from crossing over the river on the ferry.
Dog friendly everywhere but the house itself, really welcoming and friendly staff and volunteers. Loved walking around and learning more about Agatha and her life. Had to visit the gift shop too. The staff/volunteers were so helpful and accommodating as my mum had trouble walking currently. Nothing was too much trouble.
Simple to pre book car park space online and as a member that's free. There is so much to explore, and we only touch the main things.
Definitely worth a visit!

Agatha Christie stayed there and wrote books there. The boathouse in the premises is one of the murder site in one of Poirot stories. Beautiful view from the boathouse and we saw two seals swimming in front of it. In the house, there are a lot of stuff to see and very interesting. It seems she liked Chinese stuff. Highly recommended.

Loved it, book your parking days beforehand, and take decent walking shoes. It was just stunning, the house was very interesting and the grounds lovely, they do lots for nature to. The boathouse was fab right next to the river Dart .... views were beautiful.

What a magical place, full of character, history and places to wander in the grounds. Tip, don't forget to book parking, drive down is typical narrow roads. Staff we met were incredibly thoughtful and welcoming, cafe was lovely with a proper sized cup of coffee. Gardens that we walked down to the boat house were winding in part with steps and steep at times but well worth it as the views were incredible.

What a beautiful National Trust property! As a fan of Agatha Christie's murder mysteries, 'Greenway House' has long been on my must-visit list, and it didn't disappoint. We arrived by small motor boat (the 'ferry') from Dittersham, which was a lovely way to arrive, especially in the sunshine. (£2.50 each way and 50p for dogs.) Parking at Greenway is limited and you will need to book ahead to ensure a space. While visiting Greenway, don't miss walking to the boathouse and around the grounds. My son really enjoyed the games in the garden. A nice NT shop and cafe too.

We really enjoyed our visit here, it was an unexpected gem. Disabled access is pretty tricky down to the boat house, my husband needed help at one bit with my manual wheelchair. However the ground floor of the house and some of the grounds are accessible. There's a booklet with photos of the upstairs too so you can see it, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. There was a trail for children both for outside and inside, both of which were loved by my children (age 8 and 6). One thing to note is you do need to book parking in advance. We didn't because we dropped in on the way back from a morning out, and got lucky because no disabled spaces had been booked that day, but it is advisable to book in advance if arriving by car so you're not turned away.

Took the ferry over from Dittisham where we were staying. Just a shortish walk up to the house. You were free to wander around the rooms where information was available on various displays. The grounds are lovely though steep paths in places. Lovely views all arou d the grounds and especially the boat house

This is a stunning place whether you are an Agatha Christie fan or not. It's at its best on a dry clear day when you can take advantage of the views and gardens. There are lots of places to stop and have picnics but there is also a small cafe. There is a place to get special ice creams, although was closed when we visited.
One piece of advice to all visitors that arrive by car....you must book parking. You will not be able to rock up and park.
This is a dog friendly place although obviously not in the house.
If you are an Agatha fan, Dead Man's Folly was filmed in the grounds here. Note the Boat House and Battery.
This place is lovely. If you visit, hope you enjoy it as much as we did.x

Beautiful house and gardens, once owned by the late, great Dame Agatha Christie. Arrived by ferry from Dartmouth. Well worth a visit.

This is a wonderful place to spend a day or a few hours. The house is lovely and has so much to see. It's left as it was when it was moved out of. The room guides are so friendly and really knowledgeable.

The gardens are huge and stretch all the way down to the harbour. It's quite a steep walk to get down to the bottom so make sure you want a good walk. They are at their best in the spring or summer.

Just a wonderful place, the guides all know their stuff, in great detail.
It was amazing to just look around, and to hear voices from Agatha herself and her son was amazing, the history in that house is mind blowing, my favorite room was the library, the paintings and the books was overwhelming.
The views are breathtaking too.
The cafe served the loveliest toasties and yummy cappachino, definitely worth the money.
The gift shop is lovely and quirky, would definately go back again.
Not an ideal place for disabled people who can't walk very far however still a lovely place.

Our second visit to Greenways. A lovely historical house and gardens. Definitely worth booking parking in advance if arriving by car. Fascinating to learn more about Agatha Christie and see some of the collections in the house. Worth the walk down to the boathouse for the views of the estuary.

You must pay to park in advance on the website there are timeslots, it was £3 for the day. £14 entry per adult, mostly dog-friendly, dogs on a lead throughout, not allowed in the house so we took it in turns. That wasn’t too bad as the house is fascinating and large enough to explore but not large enough that the wife was stood outside with an impatient dog, waiting her turn for more than 20-30mins. Lots to see in the house as they were avid collectors on their archaeological digs and travels. Then the grounds are great to explore, a few steep bits that are avoidable and essential to get done of the views at the Battery, the Boathouse and the Pump Room. Cafe had good coffee and cheese scone. Probably could’ve explored longer but we had other places to go too!

Agatha Christie fans will love this place. Soak up the atmosphere of its past life as her summer home and where some of the books were filmed. Would have loved to have seen more of the house but it’s not always possible to open up to much of the homes. The views of the River Dart at certain points on the pathways through the grounds are spectacular. Grounds down to the boathouse and the ferry that takes you back to Dartmouth are pretty steep, but there is a courtesy car to take those who couldn’t manage the hike, up to the house.

What an amazing place. A true Agatha Christie fan heaven. Perfectly preserved and with wonderful NT guides to answer all of your questions. If you ask, you can even play her piano. Amazing garden. Will visit the boat house when I come again.

Every time I visit I always see something I hadn't noticed previously - on this occasion Agatha Christie's DBE medal.
I would recommend parking in Hampton and walking the mile and three quarters to Greenway. En route you may see or hear a steam train, as well as catching glimpses of the River Dart.
There's a lovely cafe and gift shop on the property. Alternatively take the small ferry across from the quay to the village of Dittisham opposite for a bite to eat in The Ferry Boat Inn,or head back to Galmpton and pop in The Manor Inn.
