Cellb Cinema & Arts Center

Totally affordable and clean rooms and the hostel itself had a few large common spaces to hangout in and a bar! Fantastic and friendly staff who gave us tips for our road trip the next day! Would recommend if you are staying over in Snowdonia!

One of the loveliest hostels I've ever stayed in, and I travelled around the world for 18 months! The rooms are just so nicely decorated and could have everything you could need, including lights for each bunk and a full length mirror! The decor is modern, too. Excellent kitchen for cooking and a great snug area to chill out in. The owners are extremely welcoming and kind, too.

What a hidden gem of a place! - Absolutely lovely building, great cinema and a lovely upstairs area for tasty food, drinks and general relaxing with events every now and then. Lovely this place, no trip to Blaenau should be complete without a pop in.

Cellb is a lovely bar/cafe/restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. They regularly hold live music events including some really good reggae groups such as Julian Marley and Pama International. The food is excellent and service friendly. They have recently opened a small cinema and a hostel. Highly recommend a visit.

Nice and clean hostel accommodation which offers everything that you need. The cinema on site is excellent showing newly released films at weekends. There is also a bar and restaurant on site that we haven't used .

Lovely place great false for money - easy access. Must do zip world and Steam Train.

Our beloved local cinema. Predominantly mainstream releases with a fair compliment of independent films too. A great pint too.

Excellent place to stay. Relatively cheap hostel to stay in. Right in the heart of town. A couple min from zip world and the slate quarry. I recommend this place. The beds were comfy and the hostel was quiet. There is a kitchen with fridge and microwave. Good bathrooms and s good place to stay.

Don't be deceived by the outside. The interior is fantastic with a big vaulted ceiling dining room and cosier bar area. The food is by far the best we had in Blaenau Ffestiniog, both the duck and pheasant were delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was also great.

Such a cool place to stay, bar, cinema art gallery and hostel all in an old police station/jail/ courthouse. Kitchen facilities were great to cook in and shated bathrooms were decent. Stayed in a tiny room with three bunk beds, arranged conveniently to make good use of space. Luckily the 3rd guest arrived as we were going to sleep so it wasn't too cramped but would be a bit squeezy to spend much time in the room with 3 people. Would definitely stay here again!

We were impressed by the overall quality of Cellb for such a small town up in remote Blaenau Ffestiniog. The food was homely rather than refined but very tasty. You eat in a school hall type room with a stage at one end and a model steam engine at the other. As a vegetarian I only had one option to go for but thankfully it was well done. My gluten free girlfriend was hosted sensitively.

We checked into Cellb on the 19.4.2017 – my son and I were purely down to visit the Downhill Bike centre Antur Stiniog – CellB offered the best night stay for a fraction of hotel / bed and Breakfast cost. The best way to describe this little gem is “Boutique Hostel” – we got a room for 2 – so no sharing with anyone else – bonus point! Emma at the reception was brilliant and put our bikes away in one of the Cells in this ex-police station. We needed these out by 9am the next morning and on cue Emma’s partner had them out for us. Room was tiny but added to the whole experience. We just needed a bed to sleep – shared shower was very clean and you didn’t need to bring your soaps or gels. Kitchen in the morning was clean and I like that we had access to the rooms with our own keys.

We did eat at the restaurant upstairs – okay its slightly dear but you must remember that the Town is not exactly in access to big supermarket and ingredients, staff and maintenance costs are bound to drive the cost of your pallet up. I had a starter as a main and son had a soup – didn’t really fancy much more after a long journey in. The dishes being brought out to other tables looked substantial enough and the service was quick and very friendly – thank you Karen for your welcome to the bar and restaurant.

Emma – the carpark needs all the remnants of the old fridges and furniture removing and tiding up. Other than that it’s a gem of a place. Will definitely return! Good luck with it!

Well thought out hostel space with added bonus of a bar/restaurant upstairs. Friendly staff and good food will definitely stay again if I am back in the area.

Excellent place to stay. I stay at a lot of hostels, and, for an indy this was really good. Warm welcome, clean rooms and lots of places in and around. Would certainly stay again. 😁😁😁😁

I live in Blaenau Ffestiniog, a friend and I went to the cinema for the first time tonight. We really enjoyed the experience, friendly staff, a great 'bijou' cinema with extremely comfortable seats and what sounded like a top notch sound system.
Planning to visit again very soon.
