Gloucester Services Southbound

The look of the service station from the outside is like an underground bunker. Built to look like part of the landscape. Inside it is bright and spacious. A quick take away area to the left and a farm shop to the right. Stocked with great produce as well as beers wines and spirits. Non alcohol versions also available. Butchers and deli counters plus probably the best cakes I've ever seen. Huge macaroons and chocolate teacakes. The restaurant food was so tasty, you can purchase alcohol from the shop to drink in restaurant. A few tables outside situated by the lake. Beautiful.

Love love love this services, can’t recommend enough. Only downside is that you spend more money than you want to because of all the tasty food at the cafe and the farm shop.
By far my favourite place to stop for a toilet break, clean toilets and really friendly staff and people.

There are not many service stations that you would actually choose to stop at for food, but this is one. None of this over priced, barely warm, soggy food as everything is freshly prepared. They also have a farm shop selling fresh produce, including fruit, veg, bread and meat. Need more of these around.

It's a large building with a farmers market inside, delicious fresh food -all kind- and natural products. The bakery had a range of luscious cakes to choose from. Nice environment and stunning, peaceful views.

Clean and welcoming with a large array of vegan options in both the sit down & takeaway restaurants. Lots of local produce including fresh bread and cakes. Toilet immaculately clean as was the dining area.

a little gem of a place, far superior to other services with their out of date franchises.

This place has eco credentials by the bucket. Friendly relaxed atmosphere for the tired traveller. Food was excellent.
The farm has a large variety of local produce (within 30 miles according to the till receipt)
Definitely worth stopping if you are on the M5 near Gloucester.

We were passing by on the way home so decided to drop in and have a look at what all the fuss is about and we weren't disappointed. A beautiful display of Bread and Danish Pastries greeted us as we walked through the door all locally made. Counters full of Cheeses and savoury pastries a Fresh Meat counter, Ciders, Beer, Wine and lots more. A full on Farmshop just off the motorway. We came away with lots of goodies to try. A little on the expensive side but worth every penny.

All services should astrive to be this good.

Such an amazing 5* service station. The farmers market was incredible, an amazing selection of great fresh produce. All organic and all from local farmers.

Everything is all freshly prepared and available both from the shop and in the restaurant and quick food selection areas.

The parking layout is very well thoughtoff with sections to walk dogs and take a stroll.

Everyone here seems so happier because the facilities are amazing and makes all other services look rubbish in comparison.

Highly recommend visiting and trying the local produce which is brilliant.

Probably the greenest, most dog friendly and tasty Motorway Service Area in the country. Prides itself in supporting local small businesses and produce.. peaceful surroundings to pause for a coffee and watch the ducks on the pond. Delightful

All services should arrive to be this good. Absolutely blown away by this services, the farmers market was incredible, an amazing selection of great fresh produce. Variety beyond belief and all freshly prepared and available both from the shop and in the restaurant and quick food selection areas. Parking is very well designed with areas to walk dogs and take a stroll to break up the journey. Everyone here seems so happy because the facility just makes all other services look amateur in comparison. Highly recommend visiting and trying the local produce which is brilliant. We will be back for sure.

Just had to stop here after seeing it on the TV. We've stopped at Tebay many times and we love it.

This place is a hidden gem. We never knew there was a second site.

As expected wonderful food, staff and displays. The bread table looks wonderful. All the displays look great

Great services with lovely farm shop, bakery, hot food, restaurants, on site butcher, the shop offers huge selections of fresh and specialist produce. Amazing selection of pies, arancinis, scotch eggs, and everything you could think of. We tried the Doreen’s black pudding and it was sensational. The black pudding scotch egg and wild boar sausage rolls, they were really good too! Very friendly staffs, clean toilets, and plenty of parking with electric car charging stations and petrol station. Lovely place to take a break, have some food and pick up some shopping. Highly recommend!

My favourite services on the UK network. Clean, spacious, beautiful architecture, a lovely lake at the rear to sit and eat by with countryside views and a great choice of food and wonderful staff too. Not only that but it also has a well-stocked farm shop. What's not to like?

Absolutely amazing motorway services which is a fully featured farm shop. Great facilities, great food, great coffee, great bakery, great deli. Great value and not stupidly overpriced. Simply great all round. One of the best services in the UK.

An awesome stop to your journey.. we actually diverted just to visit the services! Not your typical motorway services services at all with great food options (and not the fast kind, but still pretty quick) a deal for kids meals a truely amazing farmshop built in! And some beautiful scenery.. will definitely visit again in the better weather.

Wow, no double wow! So glad we took a turn off the freeway yo experience this little bit of heaven! Can't wait to visit again!

So much nicer than other service stations- clean, modern, chilled out seating areas, lots of high quality food and drink to chose from. The farm shop had a huge range of food, drink and gifts. Look out for the “cruffins” in the farm shop, and stock up on them! We used postcode GL4 0WW for the Southbound services.

This place really surprised me. It’s completely different to all other services. It has real food, not just junk food. We had a lush breakfast here. Lots of different options available. They have really good coffee as well. On top of this, there is a farm shop with loads of unique items, dog stuff, food, chocolates and so on. The whole place has been made to look like it’s built out of a hill so that it blends in. It’s remarkable and the future of how all services should be built. It is expensive here but it’s quality.

This isn't a services where you break up the journey for a wee and maybe some overpriced fast food.
This is a destination. A place to do some shopping, purchase some gifts or top quality produce.
Walk around, get some healthy fresh food, sit by the little lake or enjoy the grounds.
I'm blown away by how much better than any other services this place is.
