The Tilly Shilling - JD Wetherspoon

Felt I needed to review given some of the negatives on here. I usually go to Spoons on business due to consistency and value. This is a modern setting so lacks wow factor, but was more than made up for in prompt service and well kept beer. The food was comparable with every other Spoons and I had no issues.

Particular mention goes to Magda, who I saw helping a gentleman on a mobility scooter find an appropriate table and then escort to/from the bar. It was clearly a genuine desire to help and very much appreciated by someone who wishes their elderly parents are treated with such respect when out.

Another spoons that stays away from the standard decor. For me, it feels smaller on the inside than it ought to, it's a lovely looking modern building with outdoor seating all along the front. Quite aesthetically themed with a propeller on the wall over some authentic plane seats. The staff were friendly and efficient- I really didn't wait long for drink or food (and yes, the cure was as you would expect) and it was pretty busy. The Guinness was excellent.

A HUGE! Thank you to Ellie and Bailey for making my trips a constant delight, going above and beyond in their customer service. I moved to Farnborough for only a few months and their smiling faces made me feel at home. Somebody give these girls a raise!!!

Really enjoyed my visit to the pub. Sat out in the sunshine. Drinks arrived promptly. Food was really good. Not a massive portion but enough for me. My friends pizza was really good plenty of topping. Both meals came out hot and nicely cooked. I went in and thanked the staff as I feel sometimes we are very quick to criticise and complain and not praise when it’s due. On this visit I was impressed. Thank you 😊

Great friendly atmosphere and great prices on drinks. Food not bad but you can get better at a lot of other public house's so a slight let down

Greeted by the friendly Emily whos passion for fruit juices was more than a slight concern but her outstanding knowledge of amazon depos in the midlands shows her grade c in geography paid off, First mac now emily the team here are truly profesionals in the field of pint pouring!

Only convenient pub for Farnborough shopping, a popular JD with good service and friendly atmosphere. Spacious inside, broad outside area on wide pavement, themed on heritage of area.

Top spoon pub - although no Soya milk and beans were a bit cold

We went there for Brunch. I had the large breakfast plus black pudding. Yummy. My Wife had the eggs Benedict and toast, conserves and a hot chocolate. She enjoyed it. Great service, food and quantity as well as quality. The cost? Well, it was refreshingly reasonable. I would definitely recommend it.

Never a bad experience....oh only once when they ran out of my top two beers on the same day

Lovely experience apart from the strange noise in the celling that sounds like somebody is cutting something up with a chainsaw & the impending fear of getting lapped by one of Farnborough's many hard nuts. Big Mac daddy gets a 10/10 for service. Will be back!

Been going to the pub since October 2017. Each time I go the staff are lovely welcoming and friendly. They all look smart and well dressed including the chefs that you can see through the hole in the wall.
Drinks are reasonably priced, could do with a few more of the classics and more popular drinks like Budweiser.
Food is reasonably priced I like the idea of having burger and soft drink for a fiver or a burger and a alcoholic drink for a little bit more.

One word - its awesome ! Centrally located with town centre and station in the vicinity its my favourite place to hang out. Reasonably priced , the ambience is good and service is nice. They come up with great offers and discounts as well from time to time. I want to mention they do some really nice chips.Plan well in advance as it’s usually busy during weekends particularly Friday eve

We've spent the weekend eating here, breakfasts, snacks and meals,as we were staying in local hotel.
Most definatly one of the nicest wetherspoons I've ever been to.
Staff are so friendly and helpful, food hot and a nice atmosphere.

Top notch very busy all the time. But once you have placed you're order they are quick and slick. Food is great , huge menue and excellent service. And price wise it's brilliant. The pub itself has a good atmosphere and is well kept. Wheel chair accessable to if you need it. Very nice and lively. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.

Good service, food isn't too bad. Friendly atmosphere. If my cat Schmaggins could attend she would certainly enjoy it. Interesting name don't you think? Who is Tilly?

Great value, good food & real ale. Couldn't fault the service. A busy Saturday night with 1 or 2 customers being a bit too noisy for my liking but maybe that's probably got something to do with my advancing years (ears?).
