Orvis Stockbridge

Popped into Orvis Stockbridge and was met by 'Richard' I was enquiring about the Orvis Helios 3D in a 10' #7, I'm sure they must get many a person in the shop just passing the time and looking at the rods but that didn't matter to Richard. He didn't know whether I was buying or browsing, he was patient, gave me his time and lots of hints on fishing the local water, which certainly payed dividends the following day. I purchased the rod (my second Helios) and my Wife bought an Orvis Cap. Thanks for the great service and great products!

Popped into Orvis Stockbridge on my way up to London specifically to look at the new Superfine Glass Rods to buy a 4wt to compliment my other Superfine Glass rod I purchased a few years back. Was greeted by Richard who chatted to me about the options and showing me the new style Superfine Glass rods. Richard was very informative of the rods and I never had the feeling he was pushing me to purchase. After handling a few rods in the range I decided to purchase the 7’ 6” 4 weight. Unfortunately this was not in stock but that was no problem, Richard called head office and checked stock and arranged for the rod to be delivered to my home. First class service from Richard and Orvis .. Thank you

Great service and amazing shop. Our kids did the kids fishing intro course at the shop with Harry and it was amazing! He is very kind and knowledgeable. All in all, a great shop and fishing experience. Highly recommend for all fisherman going through Stockbridge.

Great fly shop, love the fact that you can have a detailed discussion about their products and they know them inside and out. Definitely worth checking them out.

If you have little ones, grab some fish food and see some great activity on the little stream.

My father and I had a day of Grayling fishing with Richard on the River Test.
Having never fly fished before I had no real idea what to do, Richard was fantastic and incredibly patient despite me losing a fair few of his flies! We had plenty of bites and fish landed. I highly recommend his tuition to anyone. A fantastic day out and a great lunch!

In 2003 I purchased a 14ft Trident salmon rod from the Orvis store in Bath. Since then, it has been used 3 times which includes my recent holiday to the Dee nr Balmoral. I managed to make a mess of a cast and the line ended up in a tangle near the tip. On inspection, two rings had managed to break free and the tip ring had snapped completely. The rod looks brand new without a mark. I remembered the 25 yr guarantee that comes with Orvis rods, so took it to the Stockbridge store.

I expected an inquisition as it was 20 yrs old. I thought I would be expected to carry some of the responsibility for a repair. Olly was excellent and took it in without missing a beat. I paid the standard £60 rod repair fee and waited for a new tip ring and two rings to be re-fixed. All messages from Orvis said it was a repair.

Today, DPD arrived at my door and handed me a much shorter package than I was expecting. Initially, I thought it was the wrong rod as I have several Orvis trout rods of similar size. I am very happy to report that Orvis have sent a brand new 15ft salmon rod matching my current lines. Where do you get better service? The rod is a 6 piece Mission 10wt if you care to look it up. About 5 times the price I paid for the one that broke! Excellent company with very rare standards of quality and service. Even better staff at Stockbridge, so well worth the trip, even if you live a couple of hours away like I do.

Simply Fantastic. I took my 9 year old daughter to the store to take part in their introduction to fly fishing and what a great experience it was for her (and me). Harry look after the group of youngsters perfectly and managed to have them fully focussed throughout whilst he educated them about what is in our rivers and the importance of the eco system. Then we headed to the river to feed the trout before having a go at casting using the Orvis Practicaser. Great store run by lovely people.

Recently had some Ghanian friends to visit and took them along to Orvis, the customer service we received was nothing short of exceptional. The two guys in the shop went above and beyond and are a credit to the Orvis brand. Thankyou.

Helpful knowledgeable staff, wonderful products.

We bought our first Orvis dog bed ten years ago, and now they are always first choice. The dogs love them and the beds last for years and years despite the mud, hair and scratching - they may be more expensive, but these last and last, so there is no better value.

My wife is not especially into clothes - she prefers wellies and the dogs, but when a special outfit was needed for an interview the Orvis staff were brilliant. Again quality is beyond question, returns are never a problem.

Orvis in Stockbridge should be on every fly fishing enthusiasts list of spots to visit. Great service, knowledge and super friendly staff.

Used to work here over 20 years ago, still does quality clothing and exceptional fishing gear, my 20 Yr old fly rod and reel still as good now as it was when I got it.

Just visited the new shop very good layout . Mix of quality fly fishing wear .rods reels lines flys ect also fly tying essentials .books ect .room to move around unlike some shops.

Typical of Orvis I received exemplary service - first from Harry over the phone then in person by Abigail and Ollie. Whilst I have high expectations this was many times over exceeded. Thank you Ollie its always a treat to visit Orvis Stockbridge when I am up in Hampshire visiting my son. Oh by the way the 10' 3wt Recon is a beaut as indeed are my new Encounter waders.
