Peat Spade Pub & Dining

It's not much to look at from outside, but inside the decor is fresh and modern while still retaining some rural charm.

The food is varied and high quality, without being stuffy. Normally quite fussy, we were tempted by several choices on the menu. My wife (a veggie) enjoyed a butternut squash Wellington, while I was in the mood for a burger, which turned out to be juicy and flavoursome, with crunchy chips.

All in all, a rare gem that's worth venturing a little off the beaten track to discover!

Birthday meal with my husband. Beautiful food - really tasty. 3 courses plus drinks just over 100£ for us both - great price. Atmosphere was cosy and the staff were really kind. Would 100% recommend and would definitely be back.

What a flawless family Christmas Day (2023) lunch at the Peat Spade. The entire event from the point of booking was brilliant - excellent communications throughout. Wonderful, discrete service and excellent food. Great care for elderly guests and GF requirements. Would highly recommend the PS for everyone.

Delicious food and lovely service. Went there for dinner and wasn't disappointed. I'd come back in the summer to enjoy some walks in the area too.

This was our second stay at The Peat Spade and we had the same great experience. The room was tastefully decorated, super comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend The Peat Spade for a relaxing holiday weekend.

Stayed here for one night for a wedding weekend. Cracking place. Great service and accommodation. Generally an all round fab place. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was Bob on!

Popped into here after a paddle in the nearby stream. We had simply a large iced drink, and tried their desserts. Wow! The sticky toffee pudding was perfection - moist, generous, with all the right flavours!
The other deserts looked fantastic too - easily the quality from a fine dining restaurant!
The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the interior seemed spacious and clean. We sat on the pub benches at the front. We are tempted to return just to try their Roasts...

Just had sunday lunch there with my wife. The taste of the food was awesome. We live close by and I just wish id visited here before.

Fab inn, the room was well designed and had everything you need and a bit more. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. Lovely quiet and beautiful location, I heard a cuckoo through my bathroom window this morning! Will definitely be back. Also, Nala the dog is great

Very good pub located in a lovely place, it is perfect to have a nice meal and to walk around to explore the countryside. The building is well maintained, the staff very polite and the food very good. I have tried the burger, the meat was very tasty. They accept only card payments

Only stopped for a pint while out on our walk, but the service was super friendly and helpful. Menu looked incredible but sadly had no time to stay and enjoy. Will do next time in area.

Wonderful family get together at the Peat Spade today. We had all travelled a couple of hours from various points on the compass to this pub which serves fantastic food. Since there were 18 of us we were given a secluded area to the rear of the pub which was probably a blessing for the rest of the diners as we were a rowdy group with several children and a dog. We had pre ordered our food which arrived promptly and was very well presented and delicious. The staff were helpful, pleasant and well organised. I wish we lived closer as I would love to sample more of the menu in such an attractive setting.

Highly recommended, charming village location. The room was perfect with so many extra facilities, wonderfully hot power shower, fridge, iron, hair dryer, heater, cooling fan, hot drinks, with bottled water and milk included.

If you stay you must eat, we had Prime Steak Burger and Roast Pork & vegetables...wow both were the best. We will be returning again soon I hope.

More Gastro than pub. Great food and friendly service. Would recommend you book a table, even very busy on a Monday night.

Had a fantastic lunch at Peat Spade, this was our second time there and we were just as pleased as the first.

Quality of food and service both great, especially the blonde haired lady.
