The Swan Hotel & Spa

Wonderful overnight stay.
We spent two hours in a fantastic spa.
The room was spacious, well appointed and with a beautiful outlook.
Dinner and breakfast were both prompt, delicious and efficient.
Staff were attentive and resolved any issues immediately and in a friendly fashion.
We will return in the near future.

Went here for food yesterday and the food was nothing short of spectacular. I had the Pigs cheeks starter, and then the Malaysian slow cooked beef curry. The service was friendly and efficient and the prices very reasonable for the high quality dishes. I would highly recommend, 5 stars from me.

The Swan Hotel is an incredibly special place.

Staff are amazing, rooms for dogs are spacious and the little gifts for them really help them settle!

Health club is excellent, the sofas and fires are hugely inviting. The pool table could do with a bit of love but that's really the only thought we had, and that's a fab additional extra anyway.

The pub and restaurant are amazing and the breakfasts are so good. Perfect location to explore the lakes. If we could come back tomorrow with our dog Poppi, who I'm sure would happily move in, we would! How it isn't 5* we'll never know.

We try and stay at The Swan for a few days every year as a family. It is always a lovely, fun time with our daughters, set in beautiful scenery.

As soon as we arrive, we relax into the calming atmosphere, be it in one of the sitting rooms, the games room, the bar or the spa.

Everything is pretty much as you would want it, but this time the bar food offering wasn’t as good as previous years. A minor quibble, in what always is some of the best days of our year.

I visited the hotel with a small group of friends for some relaxation time. The hotel was lovely with friendly staff who were very welcoming especially in the bar where we had a lovely lunch. The food in the brasserie was tasty, well presented and very filling. We used the spa which was excellent. Again the staff were friendly and welcoming. Both me and a friend had treatments with Susie. She was excellent and I would highly recommend her. The best facial and massage I’ve ever had!
I will certainly be returning.

Fabulous from start to finish.
Service was great and nothing too much trouble. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and each staff member was kind and courteous. As a family with two small children that really helps.
Food was delicious facilities great for families.

I had a great stay! The girls at reception were both friendly & helpful. I had a facial in the spa and the girl who did the treatment was informative and overall the treatment was relaxing. The room was a nice size, and lovely powerful shower. I only had room service but the vegan burger was so tasty, and a nice selection of cheeses on the platter. Breakfast was okay in the room, but they never brought extra oat milk like I requested, and never brought pepper which I like having with my eggs. Overall a nice and relaxing stay!

Called in for an evening meal. The food was delicious. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. It felt like walking into "one happy family!!"
The roaring fires and huge Christmas tree made such an inviting atmosphere. We even called in on the following day for a coffee. Just as good. We will be back!!

Where to start ! Visited for my boyfriends birthday at The Swan Hotel & Spa. The weekend was a dream come true as it was also was our engagement weekend ! The setting & location were perfect. The staff are a credit to the hotel and couldn’t do enough for you. The food is delicious, we had breakfast in bed one morning which was just divine. The spa is totally beautiful. I could go on and on - just perfection ! We will 1000000% be returning maybe even for the wedding ! Thank so much to everyone at the Swan for a magical weekend.

We had an amazing time at the swan celebrating my birthday x relaxing time in the spa beautiful clean comfortable rooms. Amazing food in the bar and great breakfast delivered to our room in the morning. Will definitely be back again

The Swan Hotel & Spa is very welcoming, the staff were lovely and very helpful. We made use of the hotel pool and facilities which is separate to the Spa. Everywhere very clean and beautifully decorated. We ate in the bar area by an open fire, food and staff were great. The only negative the room was very warm during the night even with the small window open but that was our only issue.

Me and my daughter had an absolutely magical time, what a beautiful hotel in such a lovely location. The nicest hotel we have ever stayed in and will definitely try and come back. We loved the twilight Spa it was absolutely wonderful and the restaurant is so amazing, our room was absolutely beautiful. Overall not one negative comment as was a wonderful stay.

It was so good to go back to my happy place - third stay and I will be back. The Swan is a really great hotel, super location, slightly away from The Lake hustle but good for all areas of the Southern Lakes. . We love the rooms, food and decor. 😄

Spontaneous trip, room was great, service at the pub and breakfast was great and friendly. Food was good chicken for the chicken burger a little over cooked, possibly less time in fryer and finishing off in the oven. The crumble is massive and AMAZING!

Lovely trip away with my wife for her 50th Birthday 🎂 excellent hotel. Brilliant swimming pool Jacuzzi and steam room and Sauna. Hotel Bar and restaurant is excellent with lovely food.
Really nice walking along the River bank. Also we took our dogs away with us they have some limited dog friendly rooms that were lovely and clean and tidy.10-10 5 *****

Lovely hotel with very friendly helpful staff. It is set in an ideal situation on the river and has a very attractive interior with the possibility to eat either in the bar area or the restaurant which is candle lit in the evening.

Everything about The Swan is fabulous. Our room overlooked the river, the food was delicious, and we were hoping for heavy rain just so we would have an excuse not to leave the hotel. The spa facilities are wonderful, a free area for families and the Holte Spa which, for an additional fee, is for adults only. As The Swan is nicely situated in the Lake District, we can’t wait to go again!

Me and my boyfriend came to celebrate our anniversary we were so happy with our experience. We stayed for one night on the 24th Feb 2024. We found it to be rather quiet which we enjoyed, there was no feeling of overwhelmingness with the amount of guests using the pool facilities at one time and the facilities were relaxing.

The servers at our evening meal were so lovely and welcoming they regularly checked how our food and drinks were and never let a glass be empty before the next one arrived.

The food was fantastic and the cocktails were delish !

Even our breakfast was amazing we couldn’t believe the amount included in the price. I had the pancakes and my boyfriend had the full English alongside some of the breakfast buffet pieces like pastries and toast. Although we didn’t do it we loved the idea that breakfast in bed was available too.

Our room was a great size with an amazing view of the river ! The showers were warm and the beds were very comfortable.
Staff were polite and chatty and friendly we couldn’t recommend enough !

Very random but we also loved the playlists hahaha, we found there to be great songs on the evening pub playlist and the morning playlist and it made our meals even more enjoyable !

Can’t wait to stay again :)

Great location, good food choices in both bar and brasserie. Rooms are well furnished, clean & comfy beds. Pool facilities really good with steam & sauna available.

Really enjoyed the overnight stay. Room was excellent. Staff, all spot on. Spa was great and afternoon tea, bang on. Fab breakfast as well. Nothing to complain about from me.
Will definitely stay here again.
