Little Turtle Swim Company

My youngest started with Little Turtles at the age of 3 and always loved his lessons. His confidence and progression in the water was just a pleasure to watch and Zara had such wonderful way with all of the kids. They were always learning without even realising it!

Fast forward to him starting school and in my infinite wisdom I moved him to different swim lessons so that he could join my eldest where she had always gone. I was obviously aware of the different approach to the lessons, but acted out of convenience due to our time commitments. He did not take to it at all. He lost all of that confidence and it got to a point where he wouldn't even enter the pool! After months of trying to persevere, I went back to Zara and managed to re-enrol him with Little Turtles, hoping that we could gently reignite his enthusiasm for the water again. This time he joined lessons with Nade, who was just fantastic with him. Well. The enthusiasm returned with a bang! By the end of his first 30 minute lesson, my son was back jumping into the water, enjoying himself and once again independently swimming and learning. There's still a little way to go to see a full return, but the progress was both remarkable and heartwarming.

We have swum with little turtles for 6 years now, 3 children all starting at 4 months old! My children all have the most amazing confidence in the water and have a very good understanding of water safety. At times I had 3 children swimming back to back in lessons and had a lot of help and support poolside and in the pool as sometimes needed with my twins. Our swim journey is coming to an end now as my twins start school, an end of an era and I’ll be very sad to say goodbye! I highly recommend little turtles and the team

I have been taking my son to Little Turtles since he was three months old. We have had, and continue to have, loads of fun in the pool with the team. Their expertise and knowledge has supported my little boy to become confident, happy and independent in the pool. As a parent, I love the knowledge and reasoning the team share with us about why they are encouraging the children to take part in the different activities and how best to support this. It is with this knowledge that has enabled me, as a parent, to confidently take my little boy swimming on my own. Not only does the team support the children's ability to become confident swimmers, they also support the parents to become confident educators when taking their little one swimming out of the regular sessions.

I absolutely LOVE the way that each class is fun, engaging and each activity has a purposeful meaning to each individual child in order for them to reach their own achievements. It is extremely rare to come across a class that can offer and support each child's learning and development ability, therefore, making each session fully inclusive to all the children and parents/carers. Little Turtles supports, encourages and praises each child to learn and develop in swimming, at their own pace! The team bring such a happy and cheerful atmosphere to each class making it easier for the children to relax, learn and have fun in the pool every single week! The team are very friendly and know the children very well, enabling them to support each child the best that they can!

I cannot thank Zara, Lorna, Claire and the whole team for the support, encouragement and continuing knowledge that they provide every week to the classes! It is with you guys that my son has developed a HUGE amount of confidence and love for the water! It was only a few months ago he wouldn't even entertain using a woggle or jumping in but it is with your expertise and support that he is happy and confident to do so! I cannot recommend Little Turtle Swim Company enough!!

We have been swimming with Little Turtles at several of their venues for years now and cannot recommend them enough. If you are looking for lessons for your little ones, Zara and her team are fab!

My daughter has been attending swimming classes with Little Turtles since she was 10 months old. We moved from classes elsewhere because it didn’t feel like we were getting much from the classes and I was really uncomfortable with the dunking encouraged at each lesson. Little Turtles sessions are great fun, there is a theme each week and no forced submersions. My daughter very quickly started going under the water because she wanted to and on the days she didn’t fancy it, there was no pressure at all. Learning through play is at the heart of these classes and it’s great quality time for parents with their children. Highly recommend these classes.

My daughter experienced Little Turtle swimming lessons, from April 2021, as soon as the word reopen post covid until recently. Those early swimming lessons with babies are the best feeling in the world. Being in the pool with her weekly has been such an incredible highlight of my motherhood journey. I was surprisingly devastated when our work/nursery schedule changed and we couldn’t attend any longer. Zara and the team go above and beyond, each lesson is thought out so well, and planning meticulously, it’s absolutely worth every single penny. We hope to return in the future.

I can't thank Zara and the team enough for helping my kids grow in confidence and learn to swim so strongly. The fun in the lessons and consideration of their development as an individual is second to none. Ot goes way above and beyond normal swimming lessons. Every teacher we have had has been amazing with them.

Zara and the little turtle swim company team are absolutely amazing. My boys have been swimming with her since they were only a few weeks old and I can highly rate their approach to teaching. My boys love being in the water and this is all thanks to Zara.

My children both swam with turtles from babies until leaving as confident, happy swimmers ready for bigger pools. The fab teachers have helped both through different stages, tailoring things to them, encouraging them and I’ve learnt lots along the way too. I recommended them to lots of people and wanted to put it here for others - if you want a child led, fun and effective swim school you’ve found the right place!

Our little one has the absolute best time in her swimming sessions with Little Turtle. She’s been going since she was 3 months old and the classes have massively helped her water confidence. The classes are fun, challenging and genuinely support her development. Would highly recommend them!

We have been swimming with Little Turtles for over 4 years now. It was amazing to see my kids gaining confidence in water. Teachers are absolutely fantastic and make sure that each lesson is interesting and engaging.
Moreover Little Turtles aren’t just a business, they are supportive, kind and fun bunch of people (or mermaids) that will make you laugh, listen to your complains about getting kids dressed or just tell you to get on with life.
We have made loads of friends attending this classes and shared some good old gossip!

Zara and her team have been teaching my son to swim since he was a tiny baby, he's now a confident 3yr old who loves his swimming lessons so much and has grown in confidence. Signing up with Little Turtle was the best decision I ever made!

Swimming was something we were really keen to get our son into as young as possible. As a swimmer myself, with a very nervous wife around water, we both agreed if we could do any class it had to be swimming. We had seen other companies and how structured it was, but little turtles come with so many recommendations, so we signed up. Best choice we made! This is the only class I get to do with my Son because of work and I look forward to it all week. Zara is amazing at knowing all the children, can see where they are and what they need to do next, guiding the parents all the way! She jokes with the parents, especially when I can't hear what she's saying 😂 Everything is led by the child which we really love. Our son, this week put his own face in the water which was a huge step. My wife enjoys watching from the side which is beginning to put her mind at ease around water, so much so, we all went swimming last week on holiday! My little girl loves swimming all THANKS to Little Turtle Swim Company, and as her dad it has been so nice to watch her learn love and gain so much confidence in the water, it has also been so nice to take part in her lessons as its on the weekend, i can be apart of something so special, Zara is an amazing teacher, she always explains things so clear and i can see she has a passion for what she does which makes a big difference, i was torn between other swimming schools as a first time parent , but i chose Little Turtles because the passion and care is there you feel like family which is better than the feeling of just being a number in the group. overall i would recommend anyones little one to join up as you learn so many useful ways to progress their swimming abilities and i have enjoyed every moment !

Zara and her crew do an amazing job at creating fun and play based lessons! My girls cannot wait to go every week and discover what theme it is! There is no pressure to dunk or dive it's all child lead which has meant no tears and a willingness to engage in all the lesson!
Thoroughly recommend Little Turtles Swim Company to anyone in the MK and surrounding areas!

Can't recommended this company highly enough - both my children have learnt to swim with them and get confident around water, with two different teachers over time, and I'm thoroughly enjoying watching my little boy almost getting independent (he's taken to it like a turtle to water..). The classes are small and friendly, and any individual needs (child or parent!) are easy to discuss and work on.
I was really sad to 'graduate' from the cosy little pool at Ridgeway, but Jamie is already loving his new bright and airy pool at Cranfield
