Just stopped on our way home for a meal, we were looking for a nice garden to enjoy the mild temperature and oh god did we find the best. Stunning food, amazing views, 100% recommended, will be back! Service was top too

I am staying at Airbnb very near. Decided to try the pub.
Lovely period pub inside.
Sprawling and space for everyone.
Busy times the parking is dicey. Depends on luck.
Service with smile.
Really efficient.
I ordered fish and chips. Hake
Unusually. They had petal chip fries.
I’ve found very few places that do these style of chips.
Last place I had them this good was in Spain. ( speciality in southern Spain)
The chips were cooked to perfection.
The hake beer bartered fish was seasoned to perfection and batter perfectly cooked.
Garlicy chunky real mushy peas.
Home made tartare sauce was great to.
Eaton mess was delish.
Agree with other reviews. The portion sizes were just right. Quality not quantity.
Compliments to the chef.
Definitely class as a gourmet but homely food pub.
Highly recommended.
The only problem I have now. Is staying here is miles from everywhere.
Think I might become a regular while I’m staying down here.

I was on my own with my 2 dogs on an extremely busy Sunday. They were super acomodating and I was given a table straight away. The food is just amazing. I had the lamb roast. 😋 I don't remember last time I had such a great meal. Portion just right, I was able to enjoy everything. Thanks for having us.

We stopped by the Dog and Pheasant on our way back into London from Portsmouth. We took a very long, winding, narrow little country road to get there from the highway. Was a great drive down that road, set slightly below ground level and with trees hanging over it the entire way. Dented a rim on our A5 in a pothole but otherwise a fun drive.

The pub itself is great, plenty of seating inside and out with a large beer garden out back. Service was great, really friendly, helpful when we needed it. Bought a little box of Cubans and enjoyed one sitting out the back of the pub garden overlooking the country hills. Really nice afternoon.

I turned up here today, on a motorbike club midweek turn up. We got a warm welcome. 16
of us turned up. (we never know how many of us will come). But the staff and kitchen coped excellently. The fish and chips where amazing the sandwiches were all of generous proportions, coming with either soup, salad or chips.
Well done to all the staff at the Dog and Pheasant. Thank you. Nev. And my fellow members of the PEMC.

We stopped there on our way to a week end in the country and we loved it! The restaurant is beautiful, the service is very friendly and the food was excellent, for a great price (60£ for 2 with starters, mains, 3 glasses of wine and a beer). Highly recommended!

We loved our Sunday lunch at the Dog and Pheasant. One of the best nut roasts I've ever had with a good selection of veg, perfectly seasoned roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pud and a really tasty gravy! My partner had the lamb shank and it fell off the bone. Only way it could have been improved is by the addition of roast parsnips, though the parsnip puree was a nice touch. Can't wait to come back again to see what else the pub has to offer.
