Harvester Shorehouse Southend-On-Sea

Ok my first time to a harvester and not my typical choice of where to go, however I’m given this a five star experience as the wonderful lady Karen who works behind the bar was so helpful that she honestly makes this restaurant worth visiting! She was unflappable even when the bar was very busy and did not stop! She cleared our table and her service behind the bar was exceptional! She is a real asset to your team!

We came here during a very busy time when there was only two waiting staff on duty due to several staff being off sick. We were told there would be a reasonably long wait because of this. Our waitress was excellent, she was quite clearly working at double speed but doing a fantastic job of it, remaining courteous and polite even when she was stopped by an elderly lady while carrying plates and was given a dessert order in the middle of the dining room! Our food came out without much of a wait, the waitress checked on us to make sure everything was alright despite being exceptionally busy. Working in hospitality can be a thankless job sometimes, but this particular waitress really did a superb job under pressure. Thanks for a great service, it was very much appreciated!

Came in for a last-min dinner late one evening. We were sat and seen to very quickly, and directed to help ourselves to salad. It was freshly topped-up and very inviting.
The dinners were lovely and extremely filling. Couldn’t manage a dessert, but from those being taken past to other tables, they looked lovely! Perhaps next time.

Came for some dinner with my family. Came out quicker than expected and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our Server was extremely polite. We all had a brilliant evening, and ended up staying longer than we originally planned as there was a surprise DJ in the bar :)

I'm sooo sorry I did not take photos of my excellent evening.From start to finish it was perfect, not many if ever does anyone experience the feeling of being special as was the meal & service, normally a little something to moan about, but not on January 20th ,if this quality continues wow,and amazingly for a mid January the restaurant was nearly totally full. Thank you Harvester for my wife and my wonderful and best evening in almost forever.

Good food. Good service but delays on the food due to staff shortages, although staff were very apologetic.

We were at the restaurant on 23rd December for Breakfast with Santa. It was so magical for the children. Thank you to the team for making it so special. Super breakfasts too.

Lovely calm atmosphere for breakfast. Good portion sizes and delicious food. Glenn was fantastic and very accommodating, thanks to all and a special thanks to Glenn.

Service was very good and friendly. Allergy assistance in restaurant is second to none. Our 14 Yr old daughter has a severe peanut allergy and we were so pleased to be able to bring her to eat at Harvester, it was wonderfull for our family to feel so included.
Oneminor thing that really is just a bugbear of my own, I'd really rather have my fries/chips on my plate instead of a bucket on there.

Friendly staff, lovely breakfast, great location, lots of parking (be sure to put your number plate in their machines to register though) nice beer garden, all round good experience 👍

Even though they were very busy, and obviously short of staff, everyone was very inviting, helpful and polite. The food was first class, as always.

My partner and I have been coming to this Harvester for three years now. Every single time we come here, we have had a warm welcome, yummy food and a fantastic overall experience. All of the staff are friendly and polite but a huge shout out has to go to Glenn who always goes above and beyond to help his customers and bring a smile to people’s faces while doing so. Today we had the halloumi skewers and they were absolutely scrumptious! Thank you again for such fantastic customer service and a wonderful Sunday lunch 😊

If you are lucky enough to be served by Glenn you will be well looked after. No matter what time of day I visit this place he always seems to be there and with pride and passion!
Loads of parking, decent food and a stones throw from a play park for the kids or a short walk to/from the beach.
Only criticism is I don’t like eating my English breakfast from a rectangular plate

Just ordered 2x to good to go, staff where great and ever so helpful and went out of there way to help keep the food warm for the bike trip back.

Very accessible in regards to wheelchair users. I organised a trip for elderly people for this harvester location and indeed it was amazing. Far away from the central busy town but still excellent access to the beach 5-10 min walk. This harvester has excellent accessible toilets, tables and everything else that’s great for wheelchair users. Definitely will be returning

Had Glenn as our waiter - he was really great and friendly. Made my little girl laugh every time he came to the table.

Three of us had steak and requested it cooked different ways and everyone got what they ordered, it was delicious and melted in your mouth. Our server today was Amber who was friendly and attentive. Also Liam was very helpful. Would highly recommend

Salad bar lovely and fresh. Me and my friend both ordered chicken flatbread with chips, the chicken was really good but unfortunately our chips where cold so neither of us could eat them. Overall though staff very good and rest of the food was great
