Not from the local area, but popped in for a drink and so glad we decided upon here. Very welcoming! The man behind the bar and I think the lady was Called June, were so kind and nice to talk too. Lovely fire too which was much needed on a cold day. My dog in particular was made to feel very at home. Could have easily stayed longer and will do next time! Thanks Again!

The two that didn't make it really missed out.... fantastic carvery, cooked to perfection and served with gravy and condiments galour.

Donna behind the bar was so lovely to my mum when she was there! Mum was struggling to find away to get to the next town and Donna went above and beyond to get her a taxi. The taxi driver ended up being the owner of the pub who went out of his way to help her.
She said they were the friendliest pub of her whole trip and would highly recommend to people.
Lovely staff and wonderful customer service from this pub. I can't thank them enough for helping mum!

I popped in here on my travels the other day, I just needed a warm place to hold up whilst I waited for a lift to my next job, I was made to feel welcome, even though I wasn't spending a great deal... Just how an old school pub should be... Its in my friendly places to return to list. 👍

Lovely pub with character and plenty of seating outside. The Sunday roast 😋 best I've has in a long while. Can't fault the staff, happy, friendly and chatty so I wouldn't worry about going there for the 1st time as they make you feel like you're the only one there.

Super tasty food! The homemade chips were huge and devine. The pulled pork was perfectly smoked and full of flavour and the onion rings were the perfect side. It arrived ahead of time and was still piping hot when delivered. Would definitely recommend to friends.

My friend and I went for the Sunday carvery excellent choice of three meats and plenty of help yourself vegetables £10.95 well worth it. The staff very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Will definitely recommend and return.

Music good music. Inexpensive food

The landlady is a gorgeous gal, cheerful disposition and shining eyes. Her female staff member is jovial and welcoming. I missed out on the food but will visit the lovely rear open area again.

Old school friendly pub. New chef with excellent food. Reasonably priced. Staff work hard to keep everyone happy and served fast. Cute resident dog.

Lovely old pub with a friendly atmosphere. Good selection of beers. Went there to perform at the Open Mic. They hold lots of music events and this was well attended and fun. Recommended!

This is a wonderful local pub. A great selection real ales and wines. All the staff are super friendly and will be returning soon. Can wait for the summer to make use of the garden space.

Just had a lovely dinner here. Everyone was so friendly, and the food was delicious! Plus, our dogs were welcome, so we'll definitely come back soon.

Took my daughter, visiting from London, for yet another AWESOME Sunday Roast - best in the area! (Sorry, didn't get a piccie this time - too busy eating 😜)

Friendly people serving wholesome cheap food and good beer, what more could you possibly want in these times! Live music will return, good luck Scratchers you deserve it.

Went for our last meal here after weeks narrowboat holiday. Great food, very nice attentive staff and well priced, I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
