Avellino Italian Restaurant

Had a lovely meal here tonight but was so full from just mains that we had to forego desserts. I mentioned to our lovely waitress that the only thing I could probably have would be a limoncello and the next thing she’d brought over 3 complimentary shots! Really appreciate this gesture and would happily recommend as the food was great too

I was staying in Ross for work. A last minute table for one wasn't a problem.

The service was incredibly fast, but I didn't feel rushed. The staff were perfectly attentive without feeling like they're hanging over you.

The food was beautiful. Full of taste and the menu choice was great. The garlic prawns were delicious. The lasagna was rich and full of flavour. If I'm being VERY picky, the edges were a little well done but it didn't detract from the taste at all.

The banofee pie was enormous, especially for the price. Well presented and delicious.

If I was local, I would definitely be returning. If I'm in the area again, I will do.

Vary rarely there's a place that does everything well.

It's difficult if you have special dietary requirements, like allergies.
I have an allergy and two intolerances & my Mrs has an intolerance and an allergy, we feel very comfortable eating here.
I spoke with Loni, (apologies for incorrect spelling). He can advise against dishes containing allergens.
The cutlery is clean. The glassware is clean and not chipped or cracked.
The crockery is also immaculate. The tables are always clean. The draught's are properly chilled and don't taste like the lines haven't been cleaned in a long time.
The front of house staff are always immaculately presented and service is of the highest quality.
The cocktails are exquisite and if you fancy one but don't want alcohol, there is a mocktail menu also.
They cater for veggie and gluten free.
They have a lovely, large open space dining room. I dropped my fork, the cutlery is back end heavy. By the time I had picked it up he had come over with a replacement.
It's almost silver service and Michelin cuisine but for a very reasonable price.
The menu is a mixture of Italian and Greek influences. But the product is purely indulgent.
Which brings me to, desert. If you can permit the calories the desert menu is a sweet tooth paradise.
Excellent coffee.
Most of my reviews are 1 star, I acknowledge I'm difficult to please and often heavily critical.
This time, if there was a 6th star I would have awarded that.

Enjoyed a delicious meal here while on holiday with family. A young crew working front of house were superb, polite and attentive. Food was delicious. Would definitely go back for more. Gluten free options were very welcome.

We really enjoyed our evening. We shared a starter of meats and cheeses followed by pizza and pasta. The staff were very friendly and the food was delivered promptly and to temperature. We have tried many restaurants in this little town and this one beats them all! We look forward to returning in the future.

Great (large) starters and delicious main courses. I had olives and bread followed by cannelloni. Staff were lovely. Nice evening spent in here. Definitely recommend.

Very nice meal here, prices a touch on the high side but the fact that the restaurant was busy when all others in Ross on Wye we empty speaks volumes. The Calzone was huge and the Tiramisu delicious. Staff very attentive.

Delicious food, comes out piping hot. Steak and peppercorn sauce were amazing, highly recommended!!

Had a lovely meal here last Saturday night. Great atmosphere and the staff were really attentive. Enjoyed all my food - delicious and good value for money. I especially enjoyed the antipasto starter. Nice affogato for dessert - with biscotti sprinkled on top :)

We went to Avellino's last night for a belated birthday meal, so glad they're able to open now. Great wine selection, attentive and friendly staff, amazing food (!!!), and great atmosphere. One of our favourite restaurants in the area, we will absolutely be returning & recommend to anyone wanting authentic and tasty Italian food.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. I ordered the scallops and the sea bass with muscles and prawns( I made it a double portion of shell fish). Food was amazing! Staff were wonderful! Great atmosphere!!!

Nice Italian restaurant. Food good, pizzas, pastas, nice calzone. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive, professional. Highly recommended.

Used Google to find somewhere to eat and chose this restaurant. They were very accommodating and found us a table without a booking. The lunch menu is very reasonable we had pizza and lasagne both delicious. The staff were very friendly, highly recommended.

Scallops on a pea puree to start.
I had the sea bass with mussels , prawns and roast potatoes as a main.
My wife had the pork with Parma ham ,green beans and potatoes.
Followed by ice cream with amaretto and an espresso to finish.
For drinks I had the Herefordshire cider a, nice medium cider.
My wife had the Orvieto wine. A slightly sweeter wine with a beautiful crisp finish.
All served in a timely manner.
Not rushed.
Good lockdown drills.
Guest only seated at intermittent tables.
Staff all wearing face masks and gloves.
Hand sanitizer stations at the entrance and by the toilet.

Well worth a visit.
Reasonably priced ours came to just under £63.
Book online, spend some of the money you've saved over the last few months and go and support a local business starting back after lockdown.

Gorgeous fresh food, lovely friendly staff, speedy and efficient service, we would 100% recommend this place and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great evening! 😊
