The Pelican Fish Bar

We visited here on the 10th of July 2023 and had probably the best cod and chips ever. The chips were perfectly cooked, with the outside cooked precisely correct and the inside fluffy. The fish had perfect batter with juicy fish. Perfect! All very hot too. Very friendly owners.

Five stars to these fellas..fresh fish and chips cooked whilst we waited. Definitely get your money's worth..if you have a big appetite then this is the place to go..
Kebab also cooked fresh, brother ate every last bit..chilli sauce perfect.
Definitely returning on next trip..

Loved the food here it was delicious and the service was quick. Definetly worth coming here over the places near the beach they have bumped up the prices way to much.

It's an amazing chippy. Near the sea. It's got everything you'd expect and reasonable prices. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. can't fault anything I've had from here.

Fish and chips was lovely, nice and fresh, batter was perfect and the chips were fried up just right.
Customer service was very polite and helpful.
Very good value for money too, i was stuffed but didn't feel drained after eating.

Was there for a week with family and came across this shop. Friendly and helpful staff regarding my dietary requirements. Bhaiya were helpful. Have had many fish and chips in London but this one was hands down and agreed upon, was the best we all had. Chips were perfectly done cod was a good size, cooked and tasted perfectly. Would highly recommend if in the area

All the food is freshly cooked to order so there is a little bit of a wait, but because of this the food is nice and hot. Prices are fair and portions are good sizes. staff are friendly.
Outside seating is available if you want to eat your food hot.
Nice little walk if you are staying at parkdean.

This chip shop is a blessing in Camber- without doubt the best option for eating out when visiting the area! Food is freshly cooked, the batter is crispy and golden, the chips themselves have that proper seaside taste- we usually get our food and then take it to the beach which is just a few minutes away.

The staff are cheerful and friendly, and there are usually seats at tables outside if you want to sit and eat there, but be warned- the seagulls here are master thieves!

Well worth a visit if in the area. You just can't beat fish and chips on the beach!

Oh my Gosh the chips here are amazing. We didn't try anything else as it was just a flying visit and a good old "share a bag chips on the beach type outing." But I was actually blown away by the quality and flavour. crisp, fluffy, scorching hot and just the right amount of softness in the middle. The staff were really smiley too. actually tasted like top quality potatoes are used. There are a fair few other chip shops that could do with striving towards the same level of quality you get at the pelican.

We nearly never ordered from this restaurant due to reviews however we thought we would give it a go and we are so pleased with did the food was so fresh and came so hot. We will be definitely ordering from here again

Great service the guys always remember our order and with 12 people that's impressive, never missing items and kid love the pizza . They always find time to make us smile great guys .

Great fish shop, outside the main busy bit by the car park, so easier to get served and cheaper! Sat at their tables &ate with the dogs, who enjoyed their sausage! Don't get hassled by sea gulls here like you do in the places by the main car park... Recommend!

Having tried the food from the take away on our holiday park this was a huge improvement. We ate from here twice as we were back too late in the evening for anything else, and had no issues either time. Staff were polite and smiling, food was good, hot, and plenty of it. Not expensive compared to the average so we were happy with our experience here and would recommend / return.

After a nice evening at the beach, we had a real hankering for some fish and chips. It was about 20 minutes to closing time so we didn’t really expect anything to be fresh but the chips and fish were freshly cooked and just lovely! The girls behind the counter were also very friendly and welcoming. Will return again!

Without a doubt the best fish and chips I have had in a long time !! The fish was ridiculously flakey and the skin was very crisp aswell as tender on the inside. The chips are all hand cut and fresh. Definitely the cheapest price in the entire area. The lamb doner is a definite must. Meat was quality and freshly cut. Service provided was also exquisite. Lovely staff members. Unbeatable. A must place to try for an incredible experience.
