An amazing experience from start to finish. Communication over email was friendly, informative and prompt as Ben answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. Collected the kayaks the next day where everything was fully explained which made our experience even more enjoyable as there was no stress while getting the kayaks inflated. Staff were friendly and helpful. Equipment was in excellent condition and easy to set up / put away. Spent the afternoon on Wastwater lake and absolutely loved it. Will definitely be back to use again and will likely borrow bikes next time too.

What a absolute treat it was to hire bikes from Marra, Ben could not have been more helpful and had 2 bikes ready for us to hire so quickly with full instructions and even provided a ruck sack with a lock, spare inner tubes and tool kit. The bikes themselves were really good quality and we covered a good distance in varying terrains. Highly recommend! Absolutely fantastic service. Ben really went out of his way to work on my bike and the work he carried out was excellent. I love how the workshop is connected to the lovely coffee shop next door. Every town needs a place like this! I’m so glad I found it.

I did the Fred Whitton yesterday and Ben helped me sort out an issue with my bike at one of the feed stops - he was really friendly despite it being late in the day and having to deal with a bunch of various tech issues one after another.

He quickly sorted the issue which meant I could crack on with the ride - not sure whether to thank him or not for that! Would recommend his shop’s bike services for anyone in the area.

Easy to rent. Really helpful staff. A short drive from Wast Water. We had a lovely time with a paddleboard and 2 person kayak. Suggest getting the electric pump if hiring multiple items as the manual ones do take some time and energy.

Rented 2 paddle boards recently, and had great service from everyone there. Nice and relaxed, and they even rearranged when we booked for the wrong date.

The other week I rented two paddle boards from here for myself a friend and his young daughter. The service from the extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff was outstanding. All safety gear was provided and instructions for use. The equipment given was of very high quality and I will certainly be returning to the shop for more rentals in the future. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try paddle boarding or needing a bike for the local trails. What a great day out 😊😊.

Hired a paddleboard for the kids last week. Ben was brilliant, even when the paddle snapped, he swapped it no problem and told be to keep the paddleboard for as long as we needed. Brilliant price, great service. Our kids loved it. Thanks Ben

We bought our son a bike for his birthday and wanted to surprise him and go for a family bike ride. We arranged before our weekend away to hire bikes and as our 4 year old daughter can't ride far they lent us their own trailer. They even let us drop off our son's bike the day before so we could surprise him on his birthday.
Hire bikes were really good and they gave us repair kits and a first aid kit in case we needed them.

I gave Ben the owner a call as I had brocken my bike, he was so helpful sorting me out with a spare part and offered to fit it for me too. Top service thank you. Mountain bikes for rent looked in good condition as did the kit for the paddle boards.

Great service, booked for 3 of us to go paddle boarding in Wastwater Lake which is a short drive away. The rental came with everything we needed and some, served with a smile. They were incredibly helpful with planning our day out. Even fed us breakfast in their cute little cafe next to the shop. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice family trip out in the Lake District.

Amazing bunch of guys running a great shop down in Gosforth for mountain biking and paddle boarding. The team were very knowledgable and were happy to help in regards to whatever query we had. The equipment was modern and to a high standard and we can't wait to go back again and use them.

Absolutely well and truly amazing experience paddle boarding!! I think it’s fantastic to be able to try something without committing first! (As in buy a paddle board straight out). As I know Laura personally, she accompanied us out and she was fantastic instructing us what to do. Even with it being my first time ever on a paddle board, I had my 4 year old on the front with me! We both had an absolute amazing time it was so surreal 😍 what a wonderful, fantastic experience. Highly recommend people to try out and push yourself out your comfort zone! Myself and a group of friends rented paddleboards this weekend and were really impressed by the service and warm welcome we received. The staff were so accommodating and happy to help, everything you could think you might need (and more) was provided, the prices were very reasonable and we had a great time! We will definitely be returning!

Just popped in to get some advice on tyre sizes and buy a puncture repair kit. Turns out they do bike hire and repairs only at the moment and don't sell accessories. Had a great chat and they gave me a few patches and some glue to help me out. Really friendly and knowledgeable. I'll be back to get my Ebike tyres puncture proofed.
