Went to Tom and his dad a while ago after I had a car stolen. Picked up a lovely Volvo S60 which hasn't skipped a beat for a year for a reasonable price. Decided to go back to them again recently to part ex one of my cars for one of their stock. Picked up a lovely 5 series this time round. Both Tom and his dad are top blokes and more than know their way around the cars they sell - their knowledge of the mechanical aspect of each of their cars is 2nd to none. All reasonably priced and no taking the mick. Will go back to them whenever I'm looking to buy or sell a car again in the future no doubt.
I forgot to mention too that their aftercare is amazing. I've had some bits crops up (nothing out if the ordinary for a second hand family car) and Tom and Paul have been amazing. When I dropped the Volvo for a service I'm pretty sure Paul was about to clean it but I'd arrived early!

After a sour experience with a different dealer, I am glad to say I had the opposite with Tom. He has been very patient and understanding with me. No pressure to buy or any unnecessary fluff.

Honest and transparent about the car, a very smooth process. He even picked me up from the train station. Thank you to both Tom and Paul. Good luck with everything that you do.

I'm over the moon with the Volvo V60 I bought from these guys. Paul who handles the mechanical side of the business was a Volvo technician for 40 years and was incredibly knowledgeable.

Absolutely amazed at the customer service levels offered By Tom at Northwood Cars. From the first call to actually delivering my new car to me in person. Even though money had already passed hands Tom offered me to test drive the car as soon as he delivered it, he then did a walk around and again asked me if i was happy to accept delivery. I have used many car sales from all over the country and this one shines above all of my previous experiences. Thanks again Tom and the very best for the future.

Not normally a google reviewer, I felt I should share the positive experience I had with Tom and his dad. I bought a lovely 2008 Volvo XC60 from the pair and was initially pleased with how prompt and professional the viewing/buying process was, which made life easier with a relatively busy work schedule.

However where Northwood really shone was with their aftercare. Firstly, the car is great, but I noticed a few niggly faults within the first months ownership…something to expect from a slightly older car I suppose and through no fault of anyone’s. Tom and his dad handled the issues professionally and without quibble; I can’t fault the service I’ve received to date which is reflected by the fact I would undoubtedly use them again.

I am so pleased with the car I purchased from Northwood cars. I was incredibly nervous about going to a garage I didn’t know but Tom couldn’t have been more supportive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to ensure I was happy with everything. When the car needed something fixing, he got back to me and his lovely Dad came out with him to look at the car. They then repaired the car as it was under warranty. They explained everything clearly to me and fixed it very quickly. Tom also offered advice about something else on my car. They gave me a wonderful experience in using them as they said they wanted to ensure I was genuinely happy with the car. These gentlemen are honest, reliable and trustworthy. They are a family run business with the positive values you just don’t see any more.

Fantastic service! Went to see a Volvo D4 which Tom (Northwood Cars) was selling and absolutely loved it. Nothing was too much trouble and the car was delivered from Kent to Essex a few days later. We had an issue with the diesel particle sensor but the warranty company began being difficult, so we spoke with Tom, who came straight over from Kent to collect it, fixed the issue and delivered it back, good as new.

My car was written off a few weeks ago and the idea of buying something else from a trusted dealer filled me with dread. I found a Fiesta I liked at Northwood cars, they fitted me in to view the car straight away. They were happy for my Dad (MOT tester and mechanic) to give the car a good going over, even lifted it for him to look. They were so friendly and knowledgeable and took pride in their business. What they have on offer is high quality and good prices. Not once was I preassured into buying anything and my whole expirence was very good. I have had a small fault with the car since getting it and they have been super helpful with getting that fixed under the warranty too. I really recommend Northwood cars it was a pleasure to buy from them 😊

What a fantastic used car dealer. Bought a 2011 Volvo S60 from them. Tom and his dad are probably the nicest used car people you will find. No pushy sales tactics at any time. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to purchase a used car. A*** in my books!

I’d like to add my recommendation, having dealt with Tom at Northwood cars. I have no hesitation in buying from him, in fact I fully expect to when the need arises. Just a straightforward person who gives you confidence with no sales talk or pressure.
You’ll like him personally and professionally, he will go out of his way to see you suited and above all, with honesty.
He told me if you want a particular car, he will search one for you, which could save a lot of risk and hassle.

I recently bought a used Toyota Aygo. The purchase and customer experience were smooth and Tom was really helpful. What I was most impressed with is that when the clutch went two weeks after purchase, I phoned Northwood and they sorted everything out for me, finding a garage to fix it and dealing with the warranty company on my behalf. They even dropped the car off at my house once everything was done. Brilliant service all round.

I came across this garage by chance when they purchased my Volvo . In the end I brought a beautiful s60 from them .
From start to finish the father and son team were excellent and kept me informed .Tom the son was superb and made sure everything was just right the car arrived in lovely valeted condition and looked stunning Tom had even ordered a replacement Volvo badge as one was missing most other garages wouldn’t have bothered .
