Meare Shop & Tearooms

Another place know like the back of my hand. Really friendly people. They have an excellent selection of cakes and sandwiches. The prices are reasonable and on a good day, sit out and watch the mere. They are good on gluten free. There is a small shop with souvenirs and sweets too. We used to go just for the cheesecake made by a French guy in friston. It was brilliant. However there are plenty of homemade alternatives.

Busy Shop & Tea Room, good selection of drinks/food/ice creams. Good prompt service, great setting with amazing views across the Meare. Plenty of seating, I was able to park my motorcycle close by. Good clean toilets.

Lovely lakeside cafe and shop. Had pulled pork loaded chips which were excellent. Great service, very friendly.

Very good coffee, would have loved a scone but it was too close to lunchtime.

Lovely food full of flavour and good value. The staff were very nice and polite. Highly recommend the place.

Lovely place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake overlooking the boating lake. Lots of other tasty food available also, including a good range of gluten free options, all at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit!

A beautiful place to stop for a coffee or icecream. We did a walking route from Aldeburgh to Thorpness and back and this was a beautiful spot to pause after seeing the house in the clouds. One can also rent a rowing boat to take round the Meare although we didn't on this occasion. Highly recommend the icecream!
Edit: Went back again a couple of days later to take a rowing boat out and more Icecream. 5 star rating unaffected! Beautiful spot.

I recieved excellent Hospitatlity in the historical surroundings where this etablissement is located.

The terasse gives a great outlook on the tourists at the lake who are sailling and rowing etcetera.

The price-quality balance is very reasonable set. I forgot my William Lockie sweater during my 3rd visit. They graciously opened up again for me after opening hours so i could retrieve it.

The meare shop would be a convincing reason to visit suffolk once again in the future.

Fantastic spot to enjoy a coffee and something to eat. Must be a lot of Londoners in the area though given the prices in the cafe 😲
But to be honest the food was tasty and served with a smile. Fed the ducks then headed off with smiles on our faces.

Great choice on menu. Perfect sitting outside on a sunny day, but plenty of seating inside. Good service ..we didn't have to wait too long. Can recommend the home made quiche.. all individually made with lovely fillings. They serve main meals and snacks. Delicious cakes ,some gluten free. Very good pot of tea. We got free entertainment watching the swans and goslings and ducks and geese and the people taking rowing boats out ! Would highly recommend. Very relaxing.

Really good food overlooking the lake where people where rowing and other people milling around creating a great atmosphere. Recommend.

Lovely warm friendly service. All the food was very reasonably priced, fresh and delicious. Big portions of crispy chips! Gluten free bread could be substituted and there was a good selection of GF cakes. The ice creams were also delicious. Would highly recommend along with a row around the boating lake.

Lunches are freshly made to order, brought to you and delicious. Seating mainly outside by the large pond. Lovely setting in sunny weather. Great for families.

I've been coming here for years and the paninis and chips are still just as awesome! The staff are really friendly and the service is great, you can sit both inside and outdoors with beautiful views of the meare, you can grab hot and cold drinks, slushies, ice creams n bacon rolls n paninis etc. Very accessible and easy walk from the path or the car park, highly recommend!

Wonderful, right on the lake. The food was lovely. I really enjoyed the cake and there is a great vegan selection. Very friendly service. I will definitely be back! Thanks.
