We booked for a celebration lunch following my son's graduation in Oxford. We were seated quickly and the champagne I had pre-ordered was brought to us without me having to ask/remind.

Staff were great. They didn't hover but were prompt when needed.

The food was plentiful and delicious. We did have an issue with the lamb dishes but this was quickly rectified.

Will happily return again.

This country pub remains as it's always been.

We were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic Holly on arrival and thoroughly enjoyed a lovely cuppa and the relaxed Sunday afternoon atmosphere.

We're looking forward to returning to try the Sunday roast dinner which looked absolutely delicious and of ample portions too.

I have enjoyed another wonderful experience here at the Turnpike.

I promised to return for a Sunday roast dinner and did just that.
I wasn't in any way disappointed. The whole meal was cooked to perfection and served both hot and quickly.
The Trio roast was an affordable £21.75 and definitely value for money, due to the fresh ingredients and ample portions.
I did ask for an additional pot of gravy as a roast like this requires lashings of it but that's just my personal choice!

Our server was the delightful Victoria who was friendly, accommodating and a true professional. Nothing was a chore and as busy as she was she took the opportunity to have a quick chat and offer more of the excellent dishes available. Well done Victoria we truly appreciated your service.

I would definitely recommend this pub for family meals, ample parking and consideration for disabled drivers.

The staff were welcoming and helpful when selecting items in the menu. The food ordered was great, with large portions. Even the kids portions were generous. Atmosphere was pleasant, it's a shame it was raining as they have a large beer garden, maybe on another occasion. The place was very clean and tidy, no complaints here.

We came today on a Tuesday around 4pm so it was a fairly quiet but a nice atmosphere. Toilets were clean, inside was lovely but we chose to sit outside in the sun. I had the beef brisket sandwich which I really enjoyed and my partner had the signature burger meal which she said was the best burger she's ever had. Reasonably priced considering the quality of the food and the staff were also nice and friendly. Will definitely return when we are this way again.

Came for my birthday meal. Thank you to the kitchen team for a delicious Sunday roast, brilliant portion size and definitely value for money! Were recommend the new drinks range by a friendly chap behind the bar. Service by Matt, Miriam and Teddy was fantastic. Super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be coming back.

We have visited the place with the family👪 for Sunday roast. Very short distance from Oxford and easy to combine it with a visit to the close garden center in Yarnton.

🍲 The food was tasteful and reasonably priced, thinking of the average prices around Oxford. There are also kids menu options.

Came to the turnpike for dinner with friends. The atmosphere was lovely and quiet and the food was really good! We were served by Teddy who made our experience very enjoyable. Will definitely come back!

went for a family meal at the turnpike today and the food was incredible!! the staff were so lovely and helpful when choosing the right meals for us, especially the lovely girl charlie who works there. she was so polite and helpful when she served us. honestly the best service ever experienced!!

Very nice and cosy place, on arrival we were greeted by the general manager who was very friendly and warm. The food was excellent, thank you to kitchen team(George, Macio, and Joe) and to the waitress who served us(Ellie🥰) because she was very attentive and courteous. Highly recommended ❣

Came in for a lovely evening meal, with the family. The service was amazing, even though we could see they were busy they took great care of us. Food was very tasty; starters, mains amd deserts. Would definitely reccomend if your looking for a homely place to eat

I didn’t know before visiting Turnpike that chicken fingers could be so good. According to my oldest this was the best chicken fingers she has tried and she has tried many, trust me. The day’s pie (ham and cheese)was really good but a bit to soft for my liking, but the taste was really good

Nice Food, friendly staff and a cosey environment. Wood fires burning away give it a real country feel even though you're seconds from a busy A road. Large beer garden onsite too with a decent sized car park to the side of the pub which is straight off the roundabout.
Happened upon this pub as I was passing through Oxford. Would recommend to anyone! This place is also dog friendly 👍🏼

The turnpike Yarnton what a fantastic place this is a very spacious pub very well decorated warm and cosy wood Fires Burning had our Christmas evening meal there the food was fantastic good selection of beers great service the staff were so helpful and friendly they couldn't do enough for you 100% perfection our thanks to Celine and her team Kim Holly Rob Matt Connor and Amber I have eaten here a few times before and definitely comes with my recommendation 5-stars cheers Vince 👍

Just wanted to come on here and give an amazing review, it was my birthday and here days ago, myself and my husband went out for some dinner and drinks, we loved everything about the night, food, services and atmosphere, bar staff were brilliant and we are definitely coming back and would recommend highly. Thank you to all the staff, especially the two twins behind the bar, a young lad called teddy

Lovely meal served by a wonderful member of staff - Carson. The food was excellent and the service was even better. I would definitely dine here again thanks to the incredible hospitality and amazing dining experience.
