The Old Theatre Deli

We nipped into the Deli for a quick lunch and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had three children with us and they made some simple sandwiches for them and catered for not having any gluten-free options left by making an amazing salad. Everything was delicious, home cooked and well prices. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice lunch in Southwell.

Myself and my family came in today for a late lunch and we were absolutely delighted with our experience! This cafe used to be my great grandma’s favourite and she recently passed away so we wanted to pop in for a lunch in her memory. The staff were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful and the food was just incredible! Having had many beautiful Buddha bowls in my time, I can confidently say this was the best I’ve ever had! Thank you for a lovely lunch and we will be back!

We had a pleasant breakfast here today. I like Southwell, it makes me feel like I’m on holiday and having breakfast at The Old Theatre Deli make it feel more so. Nice seating and good service.
I had the continental platter which was really lovely and different.
The croissant was really delicious however, the berry compote and granola was super!
I’m allergic to kiwi so I should have mentioned this when I saw the fruit but that was totally my fault 🫠
Super coffee too, cappuccino topped with real chocolate flakes! Delicious
I also had a cup of tea, as tea for one was enough for about four people 😀

Great food, great service and with a smile. Cannot fault this place at all! 100% recommend the seafood sharing board - amazing, thank you 🤩

A very nice and friendly cafe which I visited with my daughter post year 11 exams and Prom.

The waitress was polite and helpful.

We had the vegan platter. It was so delicious! The sweet potato wedges with it were so crispy and soft and full of taste... Best ever. The rest was uber delicious too!

Probably the best Vegan burger I've ever had. Not the cheapest but it was worth it. Recommend booking as its only small and can get busy.

Amazing food! Great value! The staff are so lovely and sweet! Nothing is too much trouble! 100% recommend! Has one of the homemade coleslaws ever, and the hot chocolate is just phenomenal!

Beautiful coffee! One of the best flat white’s I’ve had in a long time: milk heated to the right temperature thickening it whilst not scorching the coffee; gorgeous toffee undertones to the coffee, beautifully smooth with no hint of bitter after taste. Beautiful! Will definitely be back. (Take out from The Larder)

The food was incredible and reasonably priced, great atmosphere, lovely staff - would recommended booking a table for guaranteed seats!

We enjoyed our meals yesterday afternoon. A good choice of drinks and food. The steak and red wine pie with the best chips I have had in a long time, brocoli green beans and a pot of gravy finished it off. A good choice of desserts and excellent coffee to finish. Good service from all the staff.

Had an early lunch here recently which actually turned out to be breakfast. Excellent food! I had a vegan breakfast although I am not vegan it sounded good, indeed it was!

What a fantastic place this time seven years ago. An abundance display of locally sourced produce and mouthwatering cakes and a friendly team. Quality choice of delicious foods and one of my favourites. The breakfast. Washed down with a good pot of tea.Comfortable seating inside and outside depending on the weather.You are close by to local amenities in the heart of Southwell and easy parking. Look forward to returning.

We had a birthday lunch celebration at The Deli on Saturday 28th May.. our table was reserved and waiting for us.
The food was excellent quality and beautifully served.
We all said how lucky we are to have such a top class cafe/restaurant in this lovely Minster Town we live in.

Lovely Saturday morning breakfast in the heart of Southwell. They are very dig friendly if you are prepared to eat outside. Lovely deli/ cheese shop on site.
Try the pre ordered Afternoon Tea takeaway. Have a coffee and cake before picking up your Afternoon tea to eat at home.

A bit like stepping back in time, Staff super friendly, food expensive, but beautifully prepared with lovely produce. The coffee supports the country and farms the beans come from. Lovely.
