St John the Baptist Church

I came here to find my great great grandparents.
Upon arrival I found they were hosting a Wednesday afternoon parish meet of some sort with coffee and tea and various sweet treats on offer.

I was welcomed in like an old friend and the vicar and the parishioners were second to none with helping me find my 2nd great grandparents who once owned a pub on cove Road.

It was especially interesting to speak to the locals regarding the history of the area and those who obviously know it better than I.

Lovely welcoming church. 2 Sunday services. 9am communion and a 10:45am family service. Good for weddings and funerals. The church hall is available to hire for parties 🥳 wedding receptions.

Friendly welcoming and two different services. Traditional at 9 and contemporary at half 10.

Lovely grounds. Not suitable for those who need a walking aid
