We recommend this tea room in the heart of Dartmouth. Friendly staff and superb cakes and food. We visited three times during our stay.

Unbelievable value for money. Extremely tasty scones, generous portions of tea, very enjoyable coffee - all served by very attentive and friendly staff. The best way to relieve your thirst and re-fuel whilst exploring all that Dartmouth can offer

Found this cafe on a day trip to Dartmouth.
The food, service and staff were great. When we decided to call back for tea and cake later before getting back on the coach it had just closed. But we were told by a member of staff to come in anyway and sit down. We had our tea and cake before going home and weren't rushed. Great service all round. Will definitely be going back there again

Lovely little tea room. Gorgeous cakes. Table service. Only toilets are upstairs via narrow, steep winding staircase. Not suitable for those in wheelchairs. Nearest toilets for disabled are in the local park about a 5-10 minute stroll away.

Lovely tea, scones and cake. Staff were so friendly and the dog came out as well fed on chicken as we were on cake!

Lovely place fir a coffee and snacks. Always a warn welcome.

I came across this lovely little tea shop on holiday and we stopped to have lunch. The food was very nice and came quickly. All of the family enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend!

A fantastic place to sit and eat. Service was amazing. Cake was delicious. They also gave my son free rock road. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Perfect place for a spot of lunch. Fortunately we were led in by the dog as the lovely lady promised her some chicken.
We ordered the delicious jackets with cheese and coleslaw .highly recommended if you're in Dartmouth.

Visited Mad Hatters Tea Shop. We were the last customers that day. I asked if they liked Mad dogs. They do. We had a nice Crab sandwich and a pot of tea whi ch was very nice.
Staff nice and friendly.
The lady even asked if our 'Mad' Toy Poodle would like some chicken. He is very fussy. He had a whole bowl and ate the lot! A first.
Thank you. Would definitely revisit.

Visited this place by chance trying to find somewhere for lunch and shelter from the rain whilst on a day visit (8.09.22) . Had a very nice jacket potato, cheese and beans with accompanying salad and mum had a crab sandwich with salad . Staff were welcoming and would definitely visit again if lived nearer .

Busy shop but excellent service! Very friendly and helpful even though they were rushed of their feet. Nice food too 😊

Your crab salad was delicious. So much I brought the rest home to eat later along with a slice of coffee and walnut cake. Can't wait. Service was excellent.

Lovely lovely place doggie friendly too Roxy my doggie had some chicken and a drink our food was very good too service with a smile very impressed we will be back.

First time here, looked very nice inside, staff pleasant. Had double bacon and mushroom bap was very tasty, wish I had room for a slice of cake, a grand selection, don't walk past this cafe, otherwise you will be a mad hatter! lol..

I am writing not a review but a reply to a previous review.
It is unfair that you have stated 12 for a cream tea for two but to read the small print as it’s double the price.
Firstly it is written on a chalk board and as no small print.
Secondly unfortunately they taken the wrong bill to the wrong table and you was charged for sandwich and toastie and drinks.
But the refunded you when queried.
So sorry for the mistake made but everybody can make a mistake and after all it was regatta and very busy .
But to say read the small print ?????
