The George

Great building in need of professional traditional historic restoration in some areas. Staff are friendly and food is excellent, especially the Sunday roasts. Been here regularly over many years and the food is generally really consistent, well cooked, and well presented with good portion sizes. Can get quite busy on occasions because of that though, so sometimes expect a wait.

Popped in for lunch and wasn't disappointed. The service was good as was the food. The bar area although busy wasn't noisy. The food didn't take long to arrive. Would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

The barmaid was friendly and AM Adam was very nice and makes place very welcoming

We had our wedding here on 21st October and couldn't fault a single thing. The staff, so attentive, the food was absolutely top notch, every single person was amazing. Special shout out to Amanda who helped us with everything. The finer details we didn't know about, helped us through everything. You are all absolutely amazing and we're so appreciative you helped us make our day go without a single glitch. Thank you all from the now Mr and Mrs McPherson.

This is a historical venue and looking at the art on the walls you can see just how historically important this place is.

I ate with family members who came to visit. We had a mixture of dishes including fish and chips, fish cakes and a burger.

The food was cooked to perfection. The service was second to none and I couldn't find fault with it. The manager was extremely polite and accommodating.

Visited for the valentine's day offer,what can I say,service excellent,food absolutely fantastic, what more can I say,so much better than our visit at Christmas which was a total shambles

I had one night business stay - hotel is in the town centre and close everywhere - parking just outside and complimentary to the stay. Food is delicious.
I had to leave at 5:30 in the morning and asked for packed breakfast - chef doesn’t start until 7 but he was there early just so I can get bacon sandwich - that was such a lively personal touch.
Bed was amazingly comfy, hard mattress and pillows were just right size. One down is that there is no air con in the room (Shakespeare suit) but can was given.
Very pleasant staff both day and night, absolutely exceptional, very warm and accommodating. Will definitely stay again

Booked a double room for one night. With our 3 dogs.

Plenty of car parking space in the center of town.
Expected a shabby room, but was pleasantly surprised!!!
Got a large room with plenty of space. Ensuite, included iron and ironing board, and hairdryer, plus kettle and drinks tray.

Breakfast was top notch, and plenty........service exceptional.
Bar staff were very friendly and one guy made us laugh a lot!!!

I left my Hoodie in my room on exit by accident........a member of staff found it and went out of her way to return it to me as I was still in the bar.

We thought our stay was perfect.

Me and my family of 2 adults and 5 kids have just lived here for 4 weeks. The staff are amazing and very helpful. The word amazing doesn't quite do it justice as they became like family. Breakfast every morning was splendid and the chef/chefs were on point. The staff were always happy at Breakfast which helps create a nice atmosphere for the day. And again the food was so good.

We had our wedding reception here on the 2nd may.
Amanda and the team were amazing. The room was set up beautifully nothing was to much trouble.
Our guests all commented on how nice the buffet was.
Amanda was in the background making sure things ran smoothly. We had such a perfect day and wouldn't of changed a thing. We also stayed for two nights in the hotel and found the room clean and well presented

We stayed here while working at a Kart track nearby and we had a really lovely weekend being looked after. The team are extremely friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was delivered hot and so quick! The hotel is full of character and in a great spot in the middle of town, easy parking too.
We definitely recommend!!

My partner and I visited The George for breakfast, as we had heard good things about the meals and the good value. The staff were really good. After ordering our breakfast we found a table although there appeared to be seating not just in the bar area but also in more traditional dining rooms. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot. Both meals were well presented. The breakfast I had was the large full English and I couldn't manage to stuff it all down. A great breakfast at a really good price, my partner had the eggs Benedict which did look very really nice and she said it was also delicious. I can only recommend the breakfast but would have to say for value and quality probably one of the best breakfast's around in Huntingdon.

Had a really lovely meal here. It was such a nice atmosphere. Really chilled. Great for children too. The food was really good, and came out super hot but the best thing about The George is that the staff were all extremely lovely and nothing at all was too much trouble. Can't remember the last time I had such a good experience somewhere. Cannot rate this place enough!

Amazing place! Would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone, who is staying in this area.
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and tasty breakfast. Actually, not only breakfast - everything was nice, but the morning meal just is my favourite!

We we're in Huntingdon due to a family bereavement. The staff were very friendly, efficient & helpful in fact they were amazing. The food was delicious 😋 and very reasonably priced. Infact we are going back there next week for a few days.

Visited The George Hotel for something to eat while in Huntingdon today. I'd definitely rate it ten out of ten, the food was absolutely fantastic and we didn't have to wait long for it, the staff were also friendly and very helpful. The bar and restaurant were all spotlessly clean, and you could see the staff made a point of keeping it that way.

This the second time we have been to The George . This time as well as a drink we stayed for a meal . Food was piping hot and serving staff friendly and polite and made checks to see if we were happy with meal and drinks. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Oliver cromwell is said to have stayed here at some point when setting up his new model army.

Lovely service and beautiful building. After a pretty crazy travel day Tony and her staff went above and beyond to make sure that my family and I were taken care of. Please be advised that the hotel does not allow cats but dogs welcome.
