Golden Mountain

Our experience here was fantastic. Food is good with reasonable price. Service was great. The quality of food is superb. I would recommend this to my friends who will visit Windermere. As you can see in the photos, our plates are almost clean as we loved the food so much 😊 we gave a small tip and we don't normally give one when we eat out.

Chinese cuisines here are so delicious, yummy and very cheap as well. So much better than other restaurants in center with affordable prices. The owner is also very friendly and enthusiastic. This is must-try Chinese restaurant in Lake District, even in UK💕

Lovely attentive staff and a pleasant relaxing atmosphere. Didn't reserve the table but were still sitted as soon as one became available which didn't take long. The food arrived sooner than expected, piping-hot, freshly cooked and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Have never had chinese so pungent and tasty: chicken with ginger & spring onion was so gingery, it was incredible. Salt & pepper ribs had an immensely crispy and crunchy coating on them and were smothered in heaps of toasted crushed garlic - divine! The best discovery was the 'salt & pepper chips' - something no meal can do without! All finger-licking good!

Great spot for some asian flavours. Food was affordable and serving sizes were good for sharing. Lovely staff who were friendly and attentive. Cantonese speaking boss!

Ordered from Golden mountain whilst we were staying nearby in White Cross Bay. We were told there was a bit of a wait, but they'd try and get it ready for half 6. We arrived at half 6 just on the off chance it would be ready not expecting it to be but it was! The food was absolutely spot on, we couldn't fault it. The service from ordering over the to collection was brilliant

They were full and said we'd have to wait 40min but eventually after telling them we had a long and tiring day they managed to give us a table. Very, very nice staff, great attitude, super tasty food, amazing little restaurant, perfectly clean, very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended! PS: By far the best value eat in the centre of Windermere

The Chinese food on offer is excellent! Makes up for the simple ambience. Service is prompt, courteous and efficient. Must be popular for takeaways can imagine. Nice location close to Windermere train station and clean restrooms. Punches above its rating!

We first called in after looking at the reviews on this quaint little restaurant on the highstreet. Got some really nice reviews compared to another Chinese restaurant that was near there. Although their wasn't enough room at the time, due to being only bring a small restaurant. We were asked to come back an hour later. Which we did! They found us a nice little table with leg room. We didn't order a starter. Only a main course & just sparkling water. The service was good & the meal was lovely. The bill was reasonably priced for what we ordered just under £35 !

Very good restaurant with nice vibes.
Small and cosy, we had to come back in half an hour as there wasn't any space.
The food was lovely and also the price.
The owner was running the business in a great atmosphere with the waitress.
The ambient music was also popular and the volume was just right.

One of the best Chinese restaurants I have been to. The food was incredibly tasty. It was even better in terms of price and quality.

Excellent quality and value for money. I can't speak for Oliver Flemings review below and his diarrhea but i doubt it was due to the food. 5 stars from me!

We had the pleasure of dining at this Chinese restaurant during our Lake District holiday, and it exceeded all our expectations. Despite not being avid fans of Chinese cuisine, we decided to give it a try, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was exceptional, far surpassing any previous Chinese dining experiences we've had.
Staffs were outstanding their exceptional service made it a memorable dining experience. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District.

Got a takeaway on Easter Saturday evening long wait as they were very busy but worth waiting for absolutely delicious chicken wings bbq ribs crispy seaweed spring rolls and chips highly recommend

Beautiful meal, selected the set meal for 2 and added ¼ crispy duck. Food was delicious. The restuarant is small and friendly, I'd advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Ate here on 9th December for my wife's birthday, food absolutely stunning and flavousim, attentive and friendly staff, nice relaxing atmosphere, will certainly return if back in Windermere, only down side was they didn't sell alcohol but would highly recommend

We're hollidaying in windemere and wanted food past 9.00 on a sunday... came upon the golden mountain.....fabulous tasty food and huge portions , far cheaper than at home in Leicester
, we couldnt eat it all !!
Hot garlic chicken, chicken curry, egg fried rice, salt n pepper chips. Yum !! N pancankce rolls... cost around £21..

Just ordered a takeaway from here ,Chicken curry rice chips and Mushrooms,Food was piping hot and cooked to perfection.We would recommend this restaurant 100%.
