The Flete Estate Holiday Cottages

We had a fabulous day in the beach house at Mothecombe. The roaring fire was perfect after a swim on a cold day, with hot chocolates to warm us from the inside. Burgers for lunch cooked expertly by Chris in the frying pans over the fire. The day went far too quickly and we were sad when it was time to go.

What a wonderful place to stay for a week. So peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is warm and comfortable, even when Spring has taking a while to get going. There is ample space for six people including an enclosed private garden for people and dogs alike. The walk down to Pamflete beach is the perfect start to a stroll along the estuary to Mothecombe beach (tides allowing).

The chic and unique Pamflete tea house on the Flete Estate made the snuggest base camp for beach and estuary walks on a brisk March day. The Esse woodburner cooked our sausages and bacon whilst warming our hearts. A beautifully decorated little room cleverly sited by the Victorians to catch a glorious view both up and down the Erme Estuary as the tides change. We loved it.

If you like seclusion, nostalgia and spectacular views, the Flete Estate is for you. Very limited opportunity from April to Sept but out of season is my favourite time of Devon.

The Flete Estate is amazing. We stayed at Nepeans and had everything we needed with the most lovely views. Special memories and we are already booked for next year.

The Coastguards cottages on the Flete Estate are the perfect place to stay if you like: the sea right by you, no light or noise pollution, roaring log fires and owls hooting. The comfy, clean cottages are a splendid retreat.

As ever our trip to South Devon was wonderful. Unusually the sun shone every day - the wind was gentle and the estuary perfect for paddle boarding for all ages.
We all had a wonderful healing and nurturing time.
And the new tables are a great improvement, thank you.

The most special and magical place on earth. We love it here, its remote but the view of the estuary and sea is just breathtaking. The service is great. The cottages are functionally equipped with all one could need and lots of thoughtful extras put everywhere.
Lovely people, good food at the schoolhouse and just generally a special place with truly breathtaking scenery and peace. We will be back , can highly recommend it!

We’ve been trying to book one of the Coastguards cottages at Mothecombe (my brother and I came here frequently during school holidays when my great uncle George lived in one of the retainer cottages on the estate) for as long as I can remember, and fortunately we were able to spend some time here during February half term this year. It completely lived up to expectations and the Flete Estate team were very accommodating and flexible. Lots of cosy wood fires and we were very fortunate with the weather. Fully equipped kitchen and casual dining area plus the telly room and the reading room made it the perfect place to escape with three boys, ranging from 25 down to 10. The bedrooms though small were absolutely fine (wonderful views!) and there was plenty of hot water in the admittedly rather cramped shower area. Decent sized bathroom with a bath though. All in all a 9/10👍

Had a fantastic day at Mothecombe Beach House in January. A perfect retreat with the fire and cosiness of the setting on a sunny but wintery day. Couldn't be a better setting and Flete Estates arranged everything with ease. Will definitely book again!

We had the most fantastic family holiday at Efford House, it's such a beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. We had so much fun and so many fond memories were forged there - Thank you!

The estate is beautifully kept and so welcoming. We love it here. The beaches, the woodland walks. Perfect in any season. The tea House on mothecombe beach is a great place to hire for cooking sausages and making a cup of tea, lovely to light the fire and warm up after a dip in the sea. There's a large choice of accommodation on the estate too.

We've stayed in various of the properties over the years. The location is magnificent in all cases, sometimes used as film locations indeed. Whilst close to small beaches they are private and excellent. The attention of the Flete Estate as managers is excellent. We'll equipped and comfortable. First class!

October at Mothecombe never fails to disappoint - incredible scenery, wonderful hospitality and so much to see and do - thanks for another great week at Efford House, a hidden gem in the South Hams!
