‘A Hidden Gem In Swaffham’

This is a charming boutique hotel with lots of emphasis on the local area and history. We have family in Swaffham and always choose to stay at Strattons. This is a family run business and the owners (Les and Vanessa) are such lovely people and they are always amenable to our requests.

We always book directly with the hotel, as we find this more personable and we can discuss the room types available, so we know we are booking the room that is perfect for us as a family. We also like to book directly with the hotel, as we are aware of the hefty commission these small businesses have to pay to booking sites, each time a reservation is made through one.

This is a beautiful family run hotel. We have had a wonderful stay this week and we will certainly be back!

What a wonderful hotel !
A beautiful building in a great location, with very well-appointed rooms.
And the owners, Ness and Les were as hospitable and accommodating as you could wish for.
A big thumbs-up !

I fully recommend this Hotel. We have been on a 6 week trip through Europe and the quality and service at this hotel is far far the best.

The location is awesome and the staff are extremely helpful.

Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Highly recommended

Truly a hidden gem which exceeded expectations. I always read reviews before I book a hotel or restaurant and I was concerned about a couple I read, but thankfully I ignored them and I was not disappointed. The Red Room is theatrically decorated, in keeping with the era of the building, preserving many original features and having had other features restored tastefully. The staff in all areas went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure a warm welcome. The restaurant experience was beyond expectations. The local produce menu did not disappoint. Presentation was delightful and the service well delivered. This hotel sits down a small lane behind the market place but you hear nothing from the road, houses or nearby shops. The Red Room has an open fire which was prepared ready to light, which we did after dinner and it looked incredible. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

A fabulous Hotel , I was given a free upgrade on arrival and stayed in a garden apartment .
Beautifully designed and furnished with everything you could possibly need .
The staff were extremely helpful and I have no hesitation to say the Hotel is the best in Norfolk.

What a fantastic hotel, we went for a night for our wedding anniversary, the staff were exceptional, so friendly, warm welcoming and so accommodating , we had chocolates and a lovely card in our room, our room was amazing with a copper bath in our room! The dinner we had was fantastic and so was the breakfast in the morning, all locally sourced fresh food and again the staff were amazing. I would highly recommend this gorgeous hidden gem

What a Beautiful place this is! I feel like 5 star isn't just enough for the quality of the place and the service offered throughout! I've just come back from staying with them for 2 nights and I can't wait to go back already! Thw whole place was full of beautiful interiors including the restaurant.. the staff were so welcoming, warm and friendly. The service was definitely too good! It's located in the middle of the town but set in the quiet place... immense peaceful 2 days from the city buzz and daily rush! Definitely going back in summer for a longer stay!

Found the hotel on the Tesla website. Very pleasant stay at Stratton's in the town of Swaffham, with plenty to see and do within a shortish drive. Very friendly helpful staff. Good directions given, including getting in through the narrow lane between the buildings. Fast efficient reception, and even had a reserved parking space to use the Tesla Destination charger - above and beyond. If our room was anything to go by, the rooms are 'quirky' and all the more charming because of it, reflecting the history of the hotel. Superb breakfast and dinner in CoCoes restaurant - can't be sure, but this may well be the best restaurant for miles, proudly using fresh local ingredients. We'll come back for sure. Well done Stratton's, well done Tesla.

Absolutely excellent. Felt covid safe. Friendly staff. Great food. Although the restaurant is in the barn, which was previously only used as Coco's Café, this has been well updated with better comfy furniture. Very special evening. Thank you

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Went as a surprise so had no idea where I was going and was pleasantly surprised. Cats were a lovely plus, staff were wonderful and very helpful when we had a few very small issues (none of which were the hotels fault). Dinner and breakfast were both amazing quality and locally sourced. Each room in the lobby and restaurant, and our suite were quirkily decorated, yet very tasteful. Cannot wait to stay again!

Lovely visit
This was our first visit to Strattons and it was a most enjoyable one, the hotel is quite delightful and has it's very own unique charm. The decor has shades of Bloomsbury and English Country House, every room that we saw had a slightly different look.
The food was superb, we were able to enjoy afternoon tea, evening dinner and superb cooked breakfast, all delicious.
The staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful or hard working, the young woman who greeted us on Sunday afternoon was clearly capable of multi-tasking, as she competently carried out a wide range of activities during the afternoon and evening.
We stayed in Fantouche, a lovely room which was very comfortable, it was perhaps a little dark with aubergine paintwork, perhaps white or pale grey would lift it. The mini-bar/fridge was rather noisy, it needed to work rather hard to maintain temperature and cut in a little too often.
However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again.
Stayed in August 2016, travelled as a couple, celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Stayed for a couple nights in 'The Stalls' recently. A really impressive place and perfect for a little getaway. Food was good and would advise visiting the restaurant at least once. Breakfast excellent and the staff can't do enough. Will definitely be going back

From the minute we walked in & I spotted the huge Ann Carrington sequinned portrait of the Queen, I knew I was going to love Strattons. We stayed in Fantouche which was beautiful. Despite plenty of other guests staying, the hotel is very peaceful as it is tucked away from the town, with zero traffic noise and no passers by. The restaurant is fabulous with plenty of locally sourced ingredients and catering for all dietary requirements. All of the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The perfect base for exploring the North Norfolk coast. Highly recommended!

The perfect place for a Mother's Day afternoon tea. Delicious selection of sandwiches. Scrumptious homemade scones and fancy cakes. Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

My daughter, grandson and I had afternoon tea at Strattons (for my birthday treat) on Monday 13th August 2018. The sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. The cakes were gorgeous and artistically decorated in ''Alice in Wonderland' theme. The scones were divine and served with clotted cream and jam. The service was excellent! We would certainly recommend this venue for afternoon tea. We will be back! 💕👍

what an amazing hidden gem. one of norfolk's top ten for afternoon tea. Having sampled this today, it is absolutely true. From receptionist Kat, who did exactly what she said she could, to the warm sausage rolls and scones in the afternoon tea. All were flawless. I rang Kat last minute, and she was accommodating to the last, with such excellent staff its not surprising that we shall be going again. I'm loathe to reccomend them, because this is the sort of secret you want to keep to yourself. But their afternoon tea is to die for, civilised, refined, subtle and spectacular from the lovely room, to the local jam for the scones. Strawberry jam like grandma made !! What an experience.Thank you so much.
