Excellent breakfast at Riverview Bakery today....Great start to our 42nd wedding Anniversary.....such a lovely place. Really good food an atmosphere. Out door seating and good parking too at the rear of the building.

Wow what a place, very busy so get there early especially on a sunny day. Food was amazing, portion size is generous. We enjoyed everything we ordered but be ready not to finish everything! Really enjoyed the food.

Fabulous food. Great array of cakes, huge portions. Always great food & service. Waiting time for a table good too

Cute little Bakery ... should be called a Cakery ... Also does breakfast very well.

Lovely staff, quick service and pretty good value.

Parking available around the back, but make sure you arrive early to have a decent chance of getting a table without waiting... It's quite popular.

Opens early at 8am, which isn't usual for this kind of UK establishment ... .. but it does fill up quickly.

Dog friendly also, which I love.

Been to Riverview Bakery several times for food, both dining and taking away.
Food is always amazing with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. Deserts are second to none and an amazing selection to choose from!
Staff are always friendly and work hard to make sure you're looked after as quickly as possible considering how busy the cafe can get. Timing is tricky as it does get quite busy and I've had to wait for a seat a couple of times but hey if there's queues they're serving good food right!
Dogs are welcome too, inside and in the rear outside seating area.
Parking is not the best but there's free street parking around it within a minutes walk generally.

The cakes & goodies are always fresh & delicious! 🍰 The staff are also kind and welcoming too. 😊 Highly recommended.

First time there as a local and I must say very impressed. Nearly let the old reviews spoil it for me but glad I ignored. Food was really nice and the potions were ample. Had to grab some cakes for on my way home. Will be back.

Cakes & treats are absolutely divine. Booking ahead is 100% recommended if you want to sit inside for food. Served by a lovely girl. Would have liked to receive forks and napkins with takeaway desserts but will know to bring our spares next time, and we decided there would be a next time as soon as we tasted the treats we ordered, definitely worth a visit.

This is the best cafe in the North East! The baked goods are second to none with a selection of delicious pies and pasties. The cakes and pastries are wonderful - particular favourites are the rhubarb cheesecake and giant custard slice. It’s busy but usually there is a table especially with the outside seating. You can pop in for some freshly baked bread, takeaway a mince pie, stay longer for a Sunday roast, or linger over coffee and cake. I don’t yet have pics of the cakes and pastries because they disappear too fast!

Been wanting 2 try here for ages went with my dad in a wheel chair and sister staff were lovly when I ordered soup and sandwich was amazed massive bowl of soup dad had roast dinner lovly meat and veg great price and we took pies and cakes home brilliant

Stumbled across this place on a Facebook Post. We were up at our caravan in Hexham so thought we would have a drive over for some lunch. Absolutely impressed! Staff were cheerful and helpful, service was quick, and the food was so tasty, with a really good selection. We sat indoors as it was a bit chilly, however, they have some nice outdoor seating at the back, with a little outdoor shower (with hot and cold water) to give your dog a wash if you've been for a walk beside the river. Dog freindly, takeaway service and parking. A brilliant find and we shall definitely be back to work our way through the menu!!

Hands down, absolutely the best steak and kidney pie I’ve ever had. Delicious. Amazing selection of cakes too. Highly recommend a pop in.

Such a lovely place to catch up with friends. Great food and great coffee too and a wide range of foods available for eat in or take away. Plenty of pies and pastries to take away and if you fancy a cake, well, it'll be difficult to decide because there are so many to choose from! Would definitely recommend you visit and even take a walk in the nearby Milkburn Woods and make a morning/afternoon of it! :)

We have been here for our family breakfast for the last two weeks. The manager/owner is fantastic and very friendly to our toddler. She always makes sure my little one is fed when we go.

Any issues resolved quickly and extremely professional!

First time I've been here and collected some bits for the coronation party. But will definitely be back soon to sit in. All the food looks divine. Friendly staff, dog friendly and huge selection to choose from

We have visited this cafe twice now, and each time the food has been great, fast service with large portion sizes. I would recommend the omelette. There is the biggest selection of cakes and ice cream for eat-in or takeaway. It's very dog friendly too.
