The Manor Inn, St Bees

Brilliant friendly pub, can be noisy at the bar, but that's because it's so popular.
They provide some excellent meals, yes if its busy, may be delays, but otherwise worth the wait.
Staff are extremely helpful and polite.
A little jewel of a place, would certainly recommend.

We had a group of 14 so we pre-ordered meals at the request of the restaurant. Everything was delivered piping hot and very tasty. Service was homey & efficient. Absolutely loved the halloumi fries. Steak & Ale pies plus soup of the day were also a big hit. Wine menu was short & sweet with a reasonable price point.

We visited the Manor for food a few weekends back whilst staying nearby and had a great experience. We were a larger group of 15 people, mixed adults and kids, and received excellent service. We were asked to pre order which was fine, and meant the food was quick to be served once we arrived. There was some confusion with the menu for the pre order, we were advised we'd be emailed the menu but never were, so I called to ask if the menu on the website was the correct one and the lady on the phone wasn't sure and asked me to recite what was on the website menu to check it was up to date - a bit strange but didn't impact the overall visit. We asked for the kids food to come out with the starters which wasn't an issue and their food came promptly. The food was good, pub style comfort food and all enjoyed what they had. We would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

Just a wonderful dining experience. We went with a large group of 10 and had to pre-order to help the busy kitchen out. It was worth it. Outstanding food and dessert selection. If you're around St. Bees, come here to eat.

Food was beautiful and so tasty. I had the chicken teriyaki with half rice and chips and would definitely recommend. The stick toffee pudding was superb with just the right amount of sweet sauce. The service was first class and we weren't hurried to finish our meal and the pub stayed open until we were ready to go. Would highly recommend.

1 night stay at the start of the coast to coast route and this hotel is just a short walk up from the trailhead and v close to the railway station.

The friendly, chatty staff were the best thing about this Hotel. The manager is clearly liked and respected by the staff because she takes on any job cheerfully and makes the working environment fun. Hence, nothing was too much trouble as the staff cheerfully met all our requests.
The breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice.
The accommodation and bed was very comfortable.

We didn't like the emergency green light in our room because, while we know it's fire regulations, it's too bright and I couldn't sleep with it. So we covered it!

This place isn't suitable for wheelchairs. There are lots of stairs. Even the ground floor toilets are up a couple of steps which my friend found difficult.... but then this is St Bees where the hotel is built on a hill!

Arrived a few minutes before last orders for food. Friendly and attentive staff showed us to our table as if it was the start of the service without rushing us . The food when it came, a steak and two stroganof, were perfect. Highly recommended.

Went for a meal with family and friends. I booked a table as there was 7 of us plus our dog. The food was delicious and service was fabulous. Well worth a try if you are in St Bee's.

The owners are super friendly and the food was delicious!
They allow over night stops in a campervan so I'm looking forward to breakfast this morning!!
A really lovely old building with a good size beer garden.

Great food and lovely friendly staff

Staff lovely. Excellent breakfast, hot and tasty. Room clean and spacious.Only niggle would of liked a shower mat. Found the bath very slippy when having a shower. Would definitely stay again.

Booked the area out behind the bar for a 30th birthday party. Staff were great, really friendly and attentive. They helped us to decorate the room beforehand and the food/buffet provided was great. Lovely pub, lovely beer garden & lovely staff.

Great menu with some different choices along with some standards. Both girls worked hard serving food and drinks with a smile. Best bar food I've had in years. Will definitely visit again.

A beautiful old cottage ... immaculate inside... a lovely home from home. Polite and friendly owners too. Highly recommended this cottage as a place to stay.

Stayed on the 21st of August 2019. We came from Australia to do the coast to coast walk. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Willing to go out of their way to help us. The room was clean and satisfactory. The pub meal was excellent. The breakfast was nice. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a cosy start to the long coast to coast walk.

Very friendly and helpful staff,fab Manager give us all the information we needed, and also let my partner borrow her hair dryer ! Lol...Friendly atmosphere, and the food was very nice.Room needs a little referb, but would defo use again.

Friendly staff excellent food, had dinner and a wonderful English breakfast - comfortable large bedroom. Would definitely recommend. Spent a lovely day in St. Bees, short walk to the beach. Thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days spent in the Lake District.

Lovely old pub close to the train station. Food is really good and the staff very pleasant. Has a large beer garden to the rear of the pub and a car park.
