We have just spent four nights at the Queens.
Although a bit dated in places
The food and service was amazing
The room was comfortable and plenty big enough for both of us, the shower was powerful and clean.
The price included breakfast, which offered a full English, vegetarian, omelette and plenty more options. They were all made to order so came out well cooked and hot
The evening meals were massive and lots of choice. The restaurant was full each evening so booking is advisable.
The staff were very welcoming and very friendly
We will definitely be back

I haven't stayed here so can't review the rooms but the pub itself is very welcoming with a great outdoor area and is always popular - would highly recommend👍

In the heart of the village. Log burner in the bar to warm your hands on a cold day. Great menu, lovely food. Rooms are comfortable, shower was hot, breakfast was fantastic.

A great place! We were staying in St Bees on our holiday, we ended up visiting the pub no less than 3times for dinner within our weeks stay. Food was nice with a good children's menu.
The waitressing staff were all really friendly and welcoming.
Outside beer garden area was also very nice.

I didn't have a room here but visited with my brother for a meal, had a good few games of pool on the pool table, an excellent starter, and a massive gammon steak I ate using only a fork.

Not expensive, not cheap either
- but worth every penny.

Will definitely eat here again.

We stayed here for a weekend away. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Our room was really good, very large, nice and warm with a comfortable bed. The breakfasts were freshly prepared and delicious.
We decided to eat in the bar for our evening meal. It was fantastic! Again, the staff were great, food plentiful, delicious and reasonably priced.
We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area!

From start to finish PERFECT ... All the staff are very welcoming & the owners are lovely people who cant do enough for you. Stayed here for 4 Nights , Great size rooms very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent especially the pizzas. Great location for the beach. Took my little boy with us & he loved every minute of his stay. Already can't wait to stay again. Perfect for a trip away.

Popped in for a pint on holiday in the afternoon and it well worth it. They have a good selection of beers and friendly staff. The best feature is the beer garden at the back. Lots of opportunity for sun and shade in comfort. We will be returning.
Update a couple of years later:
The best feature is the staff. We went in tonight and hadn't booked and they were happy to accommodate us after a discussion with the kitchen. Excellent food. Much better than pub grub. Fine dining. Thanks to everyone on tonight. See you soon.

We drove over for one night as a break, What a Meal.....we had the salt and pepper chicken to start and the Wagyu burger for our main ....I'd drive back there from newcastle just to eat there, unreal food if I could put 6 stars on this review I would....and Hobgoblin on draft !!!! .....need a place like this in Newcastle

The hotel is old so don't expect modern sleek decor - but the portions were super size and our fish and chips freshly cooked. My daughter's pizza was pretty good too - nice thin crust (she hates those puffed up thick dough bases!).
My wife could only manage about two thirds of her fish, but enjoyed what she could manage.
I particularly liked the little pot of tartare sauce with the fish - almost worth coming just for that if you are into tartare sauce...
There was a small outdoor area beside the dining area. It looked attractive (though we were seated inside).
Service initially was very fast - well done. At the end when I asked for the bill our waitress initially forgot - but this was a small niggle, and the hotel was understandably busy as it was Saturday night.
A pint of Coke, bottle of white wine (£17) , pizza (£9.95, a little pricey) and two fish and chips @ £13.95 each set us back £58.
We'd all definitely go back, the food was very good.

Booked one evening for a meal. Food was delicious with a very good selection. The lamb shank was to die for. At least 3 or 4 real ales to choose from with good service from bar staff and waitress. Deffo recommend

Was here a for a private party. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Great atmosphere. Ample seating both inside and out.
Superb mix of sandwiches on the buffet, all freshly made. Great chips as well. All in all was a very enjoyable afternoon. Highly recommended for a private function.

We had food here ahead of the pub quiz whilst we stayed in St Bees.
The food was excellent - big portions and really tasty, so much so that we couldn't contemplate dessert.
Good atmosphere and we enjoyed the quiz

Friendly staff, good beer/ale selection. The food was amazing!! Huge portions, tasty and good value. The picture speaks for itself. Would definitely recommend the gammon. Would also say should book on a Saturday evening as it was really busy!

Service was very impeccable. Fish&chips as expected from other reviews, which is huge portion. Shared between the two of us. Outdoor space was very crowded as it is the most popular pub in the village. Live music very loud indeed you can hear it from the other end of the village.
