The Freshfield

Absolutely delicious food, the best we've had in a while. Staff was very kind and considerate. We paid about £25 per person, including a starter, main, desert and drink each, so the pricing is very good. The atmosphere was very delightful and the decorations were beautiful!
I personally recommend the Hash Duck and the pear frangipane, both which were delicious!

Hey I’m not going to deny that I don’t like these kind of ‘fake’ pubs with their new decor made to look old BUT this place serves the best onion rings I’ve ever had and fantastic real chips, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside.

The deal breaker is draught Aspall Cyder so it was worth the 3 hour trip by train to walk the dogs on the beautiful beach 🏖

I met up with some very old friends for a reunion. The pub was recommended to me as a suitable venue and what a good choice it turned out to be. Really extensive range of excellent real ales (apparently to be extended soon), inexpensive good food and great service. But the star of the show for us was Kate, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and looked after - thank you Kate!

Really nice, wholesome, friendly pub with lovely staff and tasty food. Visited after a long day at Formby Beach with my friend, our 4 hungry and tired children (aged 3, 5, 5, 5), and one very tired Chihuahua. The food was quick to arrive and very reasonably priced. The children enjoyed their pasta while my friend and I both enjoyed their cheese and bacon topped burger. Will definitely be visiting again when we next come to Formby!

Lovely pub, spotlessly clean, with welcoming staff.
Great selection of beers 10 lagers/ciders and 8 different real ales.
Can't comment on food as we only called in for a beer, but by a clear country mile the best pub in the area.

Highly recommend this place. Really nice atmosphere. Plenty of seating in quiet booths or family style tables including outdoor. Decor was nice. Food was 10/10. Tasty, fresh and quickly delivered in about 10 mins. Staff were really happy and friendly. We will be back. Those bao buns 👌

First visit back home for 3 years and took my mum and wife to the Freshfield - had a great experience as always. Awesome food, service, and atmosphere.

Went for first time with daughter and was impressed with menu not like big chains , meals were lovely and served quite quickly and well cooked delicious!pub had lovely atmosphere aswell

Called in for an excellent lunch at the mid point of a 14 mile walk. Great food, good choice of beers and great service.

I was out on my weekly 25 mile bike ride when I arrived at the pub very thirsty. Kate poured me a fabulous cask pint She was friendly efficient and an asset to the pub. Thank you Kate.

Very impressive pub looks small from the front but big.looks like two houses joined up.

This is a lively pub which is very comfortable to meet friends, eat and watch football. There is a good selection of beers and great choice on the menu. From bar snacks to full meals. Sport always on tv so good for keeping an eye on football. Good indoor dog walker section. Also looks good for families. Good spacious garden. Friendly service.

Have visited on a number of occasions when walking from southport to formby. Always very welcoming and a great selection of beers and ale. Had food but only light bites stuff and I thought little expensive for what you get.

Had our tea out on Saturday, food in the freshfield is really good. Beer was nice, although a sad sign of the times when the specials board is empty. Staff were really nice, very helpful, couldn't do enough for you. We'll be going again, hopefully over Christmas.

Had a cheeky pint, ended up ordering food, wasn't the best, the bread was 3 times the amount of filling, but the triple cooked chips was 👌🏻 nice beer garden, friendly staff, clean and tidy, great atmosphere

Great pub with friendly staff and atmosphere. If you get a chance try one of the sharing platters or, if it's on, the Seafood Platter Special.

Called in on our way home from a day on the beach, didn't know about the place, just spotted it on our way passed. Friendly welcome from the staff, great service and tasty meal.

Superb pub serving great food and 8 pumps of very well kept real ales. Kim and the staff are very friendly and professional. Highly recommended...you can also do a bit of celebrity spotting too.

Went to the Freshfield with my family for dinner. We tried their new menu, the Hampshire Breed Pork Belly is delicious!

The staff were very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed.
