Lovely small and intimate French style restaurant. The food was excellent. The front of house staff need to relax and be a bit more smiley and chatty, but all in all a great meal and very pleasant evening. We will definitely be going back.

Went there for dinner and really enjoyed. The place is really cosy and the staff are excellent with plenty of time to chat and look after us. Had the onion soup to start and cassoulet for main and would not have been out of place in Paris or Toulouse. Creme brulée dessert was also delicious.

High quality maintained. Don't go if all you want is a snack, this is true home-made nourishment with full flavours. The side dish of vegetables was superb, cauliflower made tasty!!

Superb! Recommend the crab gateau followed by the venison loin, both served with the most divine sauces!!!

I dine at the French pantry every time I visit Ludlow. It is my favourite French restaurant. The food is always great , the atmosphere reminiscent of a French bistro in France and the staff service is excellent. For me, it is like stepping into a bistro in Paris, laid back, relaxed yet great, simple, traditional French food.
Book to avoid disappointment as it's only a small place.

Great meal here on a cold evening in October. Cosy French restaurant with extremely tasty food. Service excellent too from 2 busy efficient young women.

This is an exceptional restaurant in the heart of Ludlow. The range of food is very good and the taste is fabulous. Genuinely worth seeking out. I had lunch there a couple of years ago and last week had dinner. You will need to book in advance. The team is great, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The food is incredible. Really very well created and delivered.

This is a lovely place, very clean and cosy, the service is quick and efficient, could be a bit more animated but otherwise fine. The food is absolutely fantastic. Everything we had from starter to desert was of excellent quality and presentation. The bouillabaisse was to die for. We truly enjoyed our evening and for just under £40 per head for a 3 course meal at that quality it's also very reasonably priced. We paid about £114 for two including an excellent bottle of wine and a prosecco as well as water on the table, which is great value for money. We'll definitely visit again. One of the best restaurants in Ludlow for sure.

Not cheap but worth every penny in our opinion. Excellent duck main course followed by a delicious creme brulee. The best meal we had all week while visiting Shropshire.

Had lunch for the second time in as many months. The food, service and ambience was second to none. The mussels were excellent, as was the chowder. One of the best local restaurants and will become a regular haunt.

Ate here Wednesday with friends for a university reunion. Food was very good and small but interesting wine list. Excellent service. Place is very small and in centre of town. You need to book and that really means ringing.
We were asked to preorder food, but that not a problem. Most of the dishes were served on clay pots, on a plate with serviette. It made them quite difficult to eat. Several of us had cassoulet- very generous but you had to take meat out of the pot to cut it up. That meant removing the serviettes from under a very hot dish - tricky!
Note there is no service charge on the bill but they ask for tips in cash.

We made only one mistake! We could only book a table at 7.45 pm which meant we didn't eat till about 8.30. (We are elderly and eating rich food late at night is not a good idea!) That said, the food was rich and tasty and huge (I mean really huge!) portions. We had a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet which was truly memorable. I began with cod cheeks with moules in bouillabaisse sauce which was fantastic. My wife had crab mousse in bouillabaisse sauce, also excellent, with loads of cream. For our main course we both chose Coq au Vin, absolutely impossible to eat it all. Excellent again. For some reason they served this with pommes frites which we did not eat. Food was authentically salty and rich. Not cheap, but worth the money; but take my advice, visit at lunch time or early evening.

Lovely experience. Small intimate environment with charming ambience. Food was very excellent. Refreshingly different menu from the usual local offerings. Vegetable side was perfectly cooked with a diversity of tasty in season choices. Meals arrived quickly and piping hot. Duck, haddock, and venison were creatively prepared and delicious. The desserts were irresistable! Staff were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. We can't wait to return for another special evening!
