We visited Umi on a busy Saturday evening (luckily we booked ahead otherwise they would have been no chance getting in!!), the staff despite being extremely busy took good care of us and checked up on us several times to ensure our food was okay!

The atmosphere was wonderful, the decorations and the music really made it an enjoyable vibe. The menu has a lot of delicious options and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We also stayed for dessert which was absolutely divine, definitely do not leave without ordering some!

I would love to see the place again, I think it deserves a bigger venue honestly! Not because it was too cramped but because it was clearly so in demand and deserves more room to play with! The owners have created a wonderful experience and I'll be visiting again as soon as possible 🩷

We came here for dinner on my birthday and it was our first time. The staff were very friendly but I was glad I had booked as there was no walk in space. The food was stunning and the portions were huge. I was treated to a surprise desert for my birthday which was so sweet of them. I would definitely come again on my next visit to Tenby.

Everything we had was delicious and very friendly/polite service. Bit pricey but nice for a holiday treat. Would visit again and definitely recommend. Only downside is uncomfy bench seating instead of chairs. Make sure you book in advance.

Visited here with my husband who is Japanese and he commented on how lovely and authentic the food was! We recommend the udon and donburi dishes, absolutely delicious and very filling!

The atmosphere is great especially the music and it’s a good space to also socialise. This reminds of what our life is like in Osaka!

The food was incredible at umi! The place has a fresh look but I still wasn’t expecting the food to be as good as it was and reasonably priced too, the fizzy fruit drinks were super refreshing. The service was a little slow between dessert and grabbing the bill but that was okay as we were on holiday at the time, the mains came out rapidly and we hadn’t yet completely finished our starters. Which again was okay as we were nearly finished anyway. The bathroom is the only thing letting it down, due to its layout and openness, no wheelchair access but that can’t be changed due to the design of the building. Staff were super friendly. Just wish we had one in Norwich! Tried ube ice cream and that was well worth the risk! Up there with one of my favourite restaurants, the food was 12/10

Stunning food in an amazing location. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, the food was absolutely incredible. I had the best Salmon of my life here!

The ube ice cream was so unique and I'd come back just for that. And the vibed and atmosphere were very relaxed. I like the added touch of playing 80's Japanese music in the background.

A lovely little restaurant in Tenby. The atmosphere and decor is absolutely charming. I had the pulled pork ramen which was tasty. Too bad I’d eaten a hefty lunch because I ended up taking more than half of it home. I highly recommend.

I love this place! I was visiting Tenby for a week and this was my favorite restaurant by a long shot. I went with my parents and we each had something different and everything was absolutely delicious. I personally appreciated that each dish contained at least 2 servings of vegetables. I had the Chili Tofu Donburi which had a generous portion of tofu, perfect sticky rice and a mix of cooked and pickled veg and a fried egg. The others had Prawn Udon and Pulled Pork Ramen, both excellent as well. We also got a side of cucumber salad which was fresh and wonderful.

I love when places have a limited menu, it’s usually a sign that they do the few items they serve very well and this was the case at Umi. I would definitely go back.

The price point was a little high but it seems that way with all UK restaurants these days. At least here, I’m getting high quality for my money. The portions were huge and we went home with leftovers.

I loved the decor and ambiance. The style was clean and simple with lovely details around the restaurant. Definitely worth coming here!

Food was great the look makes me want to start eating straight away we really want to go there again!i loved your logo and your preparation! The children would love to go again to! It is really nice and comfortable thank you so very much I hope we can go again.

Had a wonderful relaxed lunch. Service attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Food absolutely glorious. Full of flavour and beautifully cooked. Ended up having more courses than intended as soooo tempting.

Seriously good. The staff were great and the food was delicious. We had udon noodles, donburi and seaweed salad.

Came here for my daughters birthday meal as she wanted to go to waga mama, so managed to convince her this would be better. The food was amazing and so were the staff. They overhead my brother say happy birthday to my daughter and made such a fuss of her it was a perfect way to end her day

Was excited to try here having read great things about their street food. Service was great, we got there before dinner service started and it was pretty much full by 1800. Its new, popular, walk-ins only and you can see why. Be patient...if you don't want to wait, get there when they start serving at 1730. Drinks menu was fantastic, lovely choice of 1 local craft and Asian beers and also some nice Japanese gins and a brilliant whiskey on the menu. Food was as a good as I hoped, fresh, tasty, authentic and filling. Must have gyoza...whenever I see them I must order them so they are a given! The prawns were great and the spicy pork bowl was perfect. It was pretty spicy so just be mindful of what you are ordering. I also had to have the chocolate fish pancake, which, accompanied with the whisky was the perfect end to a perfect meal out. Also to note, we don't have kids but there were quite a few in there, the menu is child friendly and a great learning experience for having little ones try some new things!

Me and my cousins tried Umi Tenby out this week and everything was amazing! Food was delicious, portions were really good sizing and plenty of food options. I tried the chicken katsu curry which was phenomenal. Atmosphere was lovely and relaxed, and staff were so polite! Will definitely be back whenever I’m done Tenby next! Highly recommend for a nice lunch!

Japanese-style restaurants are unusual and this one is very well done. They include chopsticks and the dishes feel very authentic- I had a pork ramen and it came in a wooden bowl with a wooden spoon and chopsticks (knife and fork were included too).

The ramen flavour was delightful and I had a Taiyaki for dessert (a fish-shaped chocolate-filled pancake with ice cream). The Taiyaki was more or less the same taste as a Nutella pancake but in the shape of a fish.

The portion sizes are also generous.

Update: ate there again and had the fresh prawn katsu special (pictured). Again, the taste blew me away. The prawns melted in my mouth and the sides went with it perfectly- the only downside was the chillis were a bit too hot for my liking, so I left them.

Had the apple gyoza for dessert and it was a bit like apple crumble slices wrapped in pastry with a caramel sauce.

Lovely little meal! Amazing atmosphere with classic Japanese music really set the vibe. The staff were very friendly and even had a chat about the other businesses that the establishment owns.
