Benny's Coffee Shop

A nice little place with a simple cafe menu. Tons of parking. Reasonable price

The couple who run Bennys are lovely and if you're the area for breakfast you really can't go wrong.. They do a lush all day breakfast for (at the time of writing this 25.02.2020) for five pounds with tea/coffee and toast. Juice..
I think we hit lucky when we called in.. We'd missed the morning rush, because they are also an hotel.. Through the week they have contractors and the weekends are open for loved up couples.
They have a restaurant and a bar, they get busy on Sundays with their Sunday lunches.. Something we may just try next time we're out that way.

The negatives..
When we called in yesterday it had been snowing, snow I love, in point of fact that's why we were out that way in the first place to see the snow...
However what I hate with a passion is ice.. And the car park was covered in black ice, the hubby had managed to navigate me into the place..
But... when we left I went A over T and ended up falling quite badly... Still in agony today.. A day after..
We had to end our trip out right there.. And head for home.

I'd say invest in some salt near the doors and a path into the coffee shop.. I was lucky the next one might not be.

The only other negative is.. And its only a negative if this kind of thing bothers you..
The coffee shop is basic in decor
Needs a lick of paint..
Personally I'd rather the company and food was good which it was.. than be fussed over the decor..

Superb breakfast. The bacon is delicious.

Nice simple, homemade food at reasonable prices and a decent selection.
It was hard to choose as there were lots of temptations.
Full English all day breakfast looked good and great value.
We had the pie with chips and (mushy) peas and they brought over some extra gravy which was gorgeous, proper homemade gravy.
A nice place to take a break on a long journey to or from Scotland.
Lots of parking.

The welcome was lovely, the lady suggested I have the large breakfast. It didn’t disappoint. The food, and coffee was lovely. I’ll be back.
