Brilliant Service,looking for some leisure wear for Grandson,managed to get sorted taking advantage of the 3 for 2 aswell as getting further 20% off price after submitting Sparks Card.

I just love everything in M&S as always good quality and I would say reasonably priced

I met someone in the cafe for a pre arranged meeting. We each had coffee that was up to Marks and Sparks standards. The restaurant is well laid out and people often meet old friends in here. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. It's a good spacious place where you can have quiet conversations catching up with friends or family. There is a great range of toasties to be had and the cakes leap off the plate at you. The lemon drizzle cake is moist and very tasty. There is a more extensive menu to cater for all your needs. There's nobody dashing about in here no raised voices or noise. it has its own great Marks & Spencer's quality food and atmosphere about it. If you're in the city pop in for a sit down and a proper chat.

The only problem that I find with the store is in the shoe department .I have to have the broader fitting shoe and they don't come in half sizes, so one shoe is always a little too big. People say, shop somewhere else, but, I like my quality foot wear.

Good selection of food and clothes only downside is the food section is small compared to other stores though I found everything I needed and was served quick on the till. Great staff and selection

Loved shopping here. Staff are always friendly and so helpful and cheerful. I love the food department always some great deals on. The cafe upstairs is great suitable for just a cup of tea and a chat or for a meal and staff always at hand to help. Can't fault the place.

I don't often shop here, as most of the shops where crowded, I popped in and bought a few items. The Butter chicken looked tasty but it was priced at £4.50. Bit tad expensive for me. Decided to splash out 😄 cooked tonight with a pk of brown rice. Massively impressed with the amount of chicken and the taste omg yessssss. 😍 Defo buy again. Keep you undated on the other items that I bought 😁

A lovely branch of the well established department store. Good selection of clothes and a smashing little food hall.The people that work here are very good at their jobs and always most helpful. The nearby St. Mary's car park is extremely handy too, so handy that even if it's lashing down outside and you park in there to pop into Marksies, you don't even get your hair wet. Assuming that unlike me you actually have hair to get wet!

Love this store. Always shop there for clothing for the whole family.
Only one complaint the walkway to the upstairs from the car park should always be open.
Camera's should be in place as part of there security.
Customers use the toilet if entering from the walkway hence spend ing money in the shop lots of positives against any negatives i would say..

We were looking for something very specific and the person who assist us were brilliant!
Very happy with the results of our purchase and very happy to find a shop with well trained stuff who can even help cancer patients!

I like this m and s it's in the middle of Sunderland. I shop here mainly for food but the shops light well set out and things are easy to find.

It's smaller than a lot of the shops but still carries a good range

Staff in the food hall are helpful and friendly and are willing to go out of their way to help you if your looking for something

Went to the cafe here with my friend and her 3 year old daughter. The staff were so friendly, kind and attentive! It really does make a massive difference. They should be so proud of themselves.

Popped in to M&S Sunderland as my daughter needed some new bras. She needed a fitting but we weren't aware that these were to be pre booked online. Thankfully Ann, the fitter who helped us was available for a short time so she measured my daughter and got her some bras to try on. Ann was really helpful and friendly. I am a wheelchair user and she made sure that we were both comfortable with her help before she did anything. A * service. I would definitely recommend.

Thank goodness we've retained our M&S. So many shops closing is sad for this fine City. Still has it's charm, great team and although not massive the selection of fadhion is good and has a good food hall. Small but well staffed cafe...don't dare nab a table before ordering or the old crew die hards will kick off 😂

Oh my, what an experience! A better class of shopper here, none of your aldi urchins. I enjoyed a scone with clotted cream in the cafe, felt a nudge in my underwear as I browsed the lingerie, it doesn't get better than that.

High quality products but overall food range is limited compared similar sized stores.
Fruit is very fresh & tasty here. Very nice selection of sandwiches etc for working lunches too.

I am writing this review on behalf of my Mum...she was shopping in your store Saturday 9th of March and after making her purchases left her bag of food at one of the check outs. She didn't realise it was missing until she got home, she rang your store and her call was answered by a lady called Amy. As my Mum is 87 year old she couldn't cope with going back into Sunderland so Amy very kindly offered to drop the shopping off for her on her way home! This is excellent customer service and my Mam was so, so grateful. Well done Amy and can I thank you on her behalf

The coffee shop is always busy and although staff wete under pressure today they were brilliant, i have noticed they are always polite and helpful to the older customer's. Well done M&S for your staff customer service training .

Considering the size of the store, it has an excellent food hall (although sometimes there are too many ladies' clothes in the way to get to it easily) and a fair selection of men's clothes - I can normally get something that suits me and in my size. Had an enormous slice of carrot cake in the cosy café (35 Smart Points if you're a Weight Watcher). Get a Sparks Card for different offers every week/fortnight.
