Tesco Superstore

I've never written a review about a supermarket, except this one.

My girlfriend and I stayed for a week in a hotel in the St. Austell area for a walking holiday in early May and did some shopping in your Tesco Superstore.

We are Dutch and in the Netherlands you mainly see young people working in supermarkets. Boys and girls with an average age of 16 to 20 at the cash register, filling the shelves and working at the service counter. Often less socially skilled. We're used to that, at least I am.

When we came to your supermarket for the first time and I was looking for something, one of your (adult) employees noticed this within 2 microseconds. Can I perhaps help you, sir, she asked in a friendly tone.
By comparison, in the Netherlands you will probably be found by security after a few days.

After we had collected the necessary groceries and arrived at the cash register, we were pleasantly surprised by (again) an adult cashier who greeted us politely and asked if we had a nice day while she scanned our groceries. She started a conversation very kindly. So nice.

We noticed that all the staff in this store were adults when we were there, except for the young man who neatly collected the shopping carts outside. All were friendly and helpful.

We had coffee in the cafe and enjoyed the atmosphere in the supermarket and cafe. It felt so good that we had breakfast in the cafe the next day, and because that was so good, we enjoyed it the day after that too.

The two ladies and the young man in the cafe, fantastic!! It was wonderful to see how much fun these people had with their work. Like a well-oiled machine. Making good and tasty food for a reasonable price, but also super social and attentive behavior!

I never could have imagined that I would ever write a review about a supermarket,…. Then look!

I don't know who brought these people, this staff together, but as far as I'm concerned, they did a good job! Congratulations!
It was a great pleasure to shop and have breakfast at the Tesco Superstore in St. Austell!

Staff really helpful, nice and polite. Decent choice on shelves. Neat aisle is far too narrow. I do find the customers to be extremely rude. Some of them just fo not look where they are going. And don't like it when you say excuse me too them. Other than that, the store itself is fine.

Friendly staff big car park can be difficult to get out of at peak times

Easy and stress free for grocery shopping, all you need from this shop.

Friday 13th - mobile problems - but thanks to Joe at the Mobile Phone desk, I am a happy lady. Great service and so very kind and thoughtful.

This local service, saved me driving for miles. I will definitely return whenever I have a mobile issue when in the UK.

Would like to thank the cashier and the two young assistants who helped our father when he became poorly in your store this morning. They got a wheelchair for him,put his shopping through the till and packed it up then wheeled him out to his car and put his shopping in and helped him to his car and waited with him until he was able to drive his car. My father is a very independent 93 year old.

It's a nice big, airy store. It's not big enough to be a superstore. Good selection of goods and occasionally excellent yellow labels

Nov 12th. We are on holiday here for a week, nipped into your store today for a few bits and pieces. We were served by John. What a lovely young man. Great service, polite and a credit to the store 😀

I have recently become disabled and require a wheelchair on occasion. The staff were an amazing help to myself, my daughter and my two grandchildren. I am very grateful to the staff involved today, I can't thank you enough for making our shopping trip easier.

Thank you to all the Tesco staff who have continued to work through these worrying and unknown times, providing customers with a friendly, helpful service.
I think sometimes customers need to remember how these staff have put their own worries and concerns aside and taken on extra work to continue to be there throughout this last year. They deserve a lot more respect.

Big car park big store for cornwall

Great products and prices. Very friendly staff and actually lots of checkouts open compared to other supermarkets definately recommend.

I have worked as an RGN in the for NHS for 47 years. Our son is a Charge Nurse In ITU and our daughter is a Medical Secretary. My husband has severe heart failure. To day Mothering Sunday our daughter did our shopping at our local and friendly Tesco store St Austell. She was given a beautiful bunch of flowers. A tearful moment. Thank you.

I just wish they would not have people collecting for charity food banks at the door, it make you feel guilty for buy food for yourself, we are all finding it difficult so please stop this sort of thing, it not fair.
