Amberley Village Stores

I stopped here while walking the south downs way. It was about 3/4 mile from the main trail. They were extremely friendly and had everything I needed, including food for lunch and dinner, as well as sunblock. I also got tips from the people who worked there about the walk ahead. I would recommend it as a stopping point for anyone who needs a quick resupply of food and basic supplies while walking. The village itself was also very charming.

Lovely local shop, very friendly and helpful staff and well stocked shop. We pre-ordered some sandwiches from them when cycling the South Downs Way and stopped off here as it is about half way. Sandwiches and other goodies were ready and waiting when we arrived. Wish there were more shops like this around. Also had an amazing selection of tomatoes.

Convenient store in Amberley town, one and only. Many snack, wine, drinks, grocery you are looking for are here. The staff is super friendly.

Amberley's Village Stores is not only about convenience - although it certainly is! - but first and foremost about quality. Colin and his team source the best local, seasonal produce - from tomatoes that smell and taste sooo much better than their 'chilled' cousins in the supermarkets, to breads and honey, vegetables, fruit and all manner of Sussex delicacies! And then there's the service - which is exemplary, and should act as a template for what retail can and should be. We have been introduced to some outstanding products that are now staples in our cupboards, including the perfect, gluten-free pasta, corn bread and.... the best firelighters in the business! Quite simply, a gem!

A little gem. Saved our lives through Covid - always well stocked with everything you need - brilliant staff, my favourite shop in the world. Amberley is so lucky to have it - thank you.

Amberley Village Stores stocks a wide range of essentials, but also a useful number of more specialised products and will go to great lengths to source special requests. A good wine list and glasses on loan.
Ordering can be done on line and deliveries arranged.
The Post Office provides a range of banking services, copying etc.
Very friendly service. A mine of local information.
Daily papers and Fresh sandwiches available from 7am

I seem to go to the supermarket less and less...everything I need on a day-to-day basis is here on my doorstep at Amberley Village Stores. The Post Office is an added bonus, especially now it's so hard to find a bank branch.

Cannot recommend them highly enough. Stepped up big time during Covid, keeping the whole village going. Now providing regular deliveries, very personal and responsive service, a core part of the community.

Amberley Village Stores remains such an important part of our daily lives and we cannot thank the team enough for their support over many years. Always willing to try to get anything even at the last moment! Buying online or in the shop is so easy and we are so lucky to have deliveries as well. Long live Amberley Village Stores!

We don't know what we would do without our wonderful village store and post office. It stocks delicious local produce all year round and great gifts too from the local pottery. Colin, Lee and Tina always give a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike. What an amazing experience to step into.

This shop is a life saver for those who live in and around the village, they deserve a meddle for what they have done over the years and Lee and collen are truly amazing people have helped alot of people in the village not just for essentials but with work, kindness ect. Always a friendly smile from Colin or Lee and nothing is too much trouble. Great local produce too and delicious home-made sandwiches. In addition a post office, package delivery service, and regular updates on what is in season and available to buy. A really great village shop.

Excellent village shop and post office which has kept Amberley and surrounding area well stocked with food and essentials by providing an efficient delivery service during lockdown. When not in lockdown the shop has a great range of sandwiches and snacks, drinks and ice creams for walkers and cyclists. There is an appetising array of local Sussex produce including gluten free and vegan items. The best little village shop in West Sussex! Drop in when you are in the area.

Must surely deserve to be recognised as one of the best village shops in the country. It's the absolute centre of village life, and has an extraordinarily wide range of excellent products on sale. Colin & Lee go out of their way to offer a real service to shoppers and to the community.

Excellent village shop with an extensive range of quality local produce. Very friendly staff, and ideal for a take away coffee when the nearby tea room was closed!

A wonderfully stocked local shop with a post office. You can also have parcels sent there - invaluable if you work and won't be home. They have wonderful fresh bread and pastries too. Colin and Lee are so helpful - an asset not found in supermarkets. Well worth a visit.

This has to be one of the best village shops in the country. Really well stocked and with lots of local produce. The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. And we still have a Post Office! It's central to village life.

The village shop is amazing: brilliant service, a huge selection of delicious food (plus a lot of other things) and the very best bread!
