Tesco Extra

Second visit in two weeks and this time ventured into the the coffee shop just inside the entrance of the store.
I asked for something that was out of stock but my disappointment was lifted by the cheerful smile, polite apology and offer of a selection of some of the other items which might make a suitable alternative.

I opted for two tea cakes and asked for extra butter, the picture attached shows the presentation was first class.

The young lady who served me, is an excellent ambassador for the organisation which I believe is a concession within Tesco's.

A second young lady was working the floor, she was a study in perpetual motion. She didn't stop moving from one task to the next. Tables cleared and sanitised, surfaces wiped and on to the next task.

Fabulous selection of tasty treats, brilliant service and a cheery smile.
You really can't do much better.

We visited the store today and popped into the restaurant for a bite of breakfast.
We were served by Nicole who is a fantastic ambassador for the company. She welcomed us with a bright cheery smile, dealing with our requirements for variations to the usual offer with ease. She is attentive, caring, helpful and polite. Definitely a credit to the organisation.

My mother and I came in to the Cafe, during a very busy lunch service 27/10/23.
The staff were amazing Sam, Emma and the rest of the team were on top form, very happy and served everybody very well. The food was great too.

Such a nice place, not crowded, and a big but local superstore. Also has a barbers and various takeaway places too! Love it!

5 stars for the overall lay out of shop and abundance of stock.All good till you get to the checkouts,my gut instinct was to go self service,but because we had clothes(with security tags) decided to go through till with staff. Big mistake 20 minutes later and still our shopping on conveyor belt and 1 person in front,the whole time we were there So Tesco Bar Hill it was 30 years since I was last in your store,I'm afraid it will be another 30 before I come back

Visiting barhill tesco, Marco, the security man helped both my sister and myself to our car with our shopping. What a lovely man. He was very polite, courteous and went above and beyond. Very merry Christmas Marco, and all tesco staff! Val & Joanne x

Tesco Extra in Cambridge provides a convenient shopping experience with its vast selection of products. Nice to see a lot of gluten free products

Love big Tesco and this one is always well merchandised. staff are helpfully and lovely whenever i can’t find something.

I needed a booster seat for my kids and decided to go to Tesco Extra, luckily I was right. I found boosters for 10 pounds but I was also amazed by the variety of thinga you can find here. You have one cafe and a clothing section in the first floor and another cafe in the ground floor where most of the items are located at. You can find electronics, back to school, international food and more.

Barhill Tesco is quite a big supermarket with a tone of produce in stock. I especially like the brand new "bulk buy" Isle, it fits really well. Anyways, here's the list.
Good things:
- Tons of options when it comes to produce. Since (like I mentioned earlier)
the store is quite big, it of course means that it has quite a few options. I wouldn't say that it's the biggest store in Cambridgeshire, but it is definitely up there.
- Kind, nice, and existing staff. I never really needed to speak with any staff member except the cashier, but I did observe some other customers asking for help, and (as far as I heard) the staff were helpful.
- Clean shelves and the store in general. Building up from my last point, the staff also seem to have a good grip on maintaining a clean environment as far as I observed, never saw dust on a shelf, nor a splash on the floor.
- Clean toilets. Simple one, but it's still something that a lot of places miss out on. Clean bathrooms are really pleasant and build really nicely on top of maintaining a clean environment.
- Great connection and parking. Finally, whether you want to come by bus or by car, both options are freely available.

Bad things:
It is hard to come up with things that are "bad" with the store, however...
- The design. This is something that is just aesthetic and may be a bit personal, but the design is just... it doesn't stick with me. The Isles don't seem to follow a pattern, the shelves seem to be different in pretty much every Isle (even if they can be the same) and there is a weird wooden floor in the "dine" section of the store which I am not a fan of.

That's about it, I was a little picky at the end but it's just because there isn't much to complain about because I think they got the main thing right, which is staff, when you have great staff you're bound to have a good and well maintained store, so I am hoping that it will stay as is and I will be continuing to shop at Tesco Bar Hill Extra.

I had a fantastic experience at Tesco Extra! The staff provided excellent service, and the supermarket itself is very spacious, making it easy to find everything I needed. Highly recommended for all your shopping needs!

The best supermarket in the whole region. A fabulous selection, and the Finest products are always wonderful.

Very big supermarket. Not sure if they sell the car's here, but I'm not be surprised:) Friendly team.

It's Tesco, pretty much has everything you need.

Some of the product aisles were moved to direction. Other than that, everything was there to be bought. Clothing are a bit expensive than it used to be. Excellent varieties of vegetable etc. Both nights and days staff are very helpful. To conclude, tesco caters for everyone, not the cheapest but the products and staff are generally very good.

I really like all the different options in this store. I struggle to get to this supermarket but when I do I spend like a kid in a toy shop! I didn’t visit the second floor with the f&f clothing but I hope to be back soon to do so. :-)

Biggest Tesco in Cambridge. Nice and clean. Plenty of safety measures. Best to avoid peak hours as crowded, some aisles have lots of people. At 1am, a lot of veg and food is gone. At 6am, plenty of fresh veg and most goods are restock. Huge car park. With a low priced petrol station.
