I am not local to this store, it was the reviews that made me make the effort to visit and I am glad I did. I needed a new pair of walking boots/trainers, an experience I usually detest as I have blister prone feet and hate new footwear. I was helped through my shopping experience by John, who patiently listened to my inane questions and offered advice which in the end resulted in me buying quite different to which I originally intended. It appears most of my blister problems have been due to socks, who knew??!!! I am VERY pleased with my purchases. I cannot recommend Blacks enough. As a side, the store seemed very well stocked with lots of everything. All I can say is it is a good job I never visited on pay day.

Good selection of outdoor equipment and clothing including shoes. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Good quality items available including top brands in their own respective areas. We were delighted with the discounts on offer. Credit cards accepted including Amex. If you opt for an email receipt, you can get 15% off your next purchase. Highly recommended.

Don't often feel the need to write reviews but had FANTASTIC service from Blacks in Basingstoke.

Looking for a very waterproof coat, having got thoroughly soaked the weekend before, Black's had the best range in Basingstoke at great prices.
Loved a half-price Peter Storm "Downpour" coat in a gorgeous plum colour. Unfortunately, they didn't have my size but no problem. They ordered it for me in store and waived the delivery charge. It was delivered to my home less than 24 hours later.

John took a lot of time to really help me find the right walking shoe. Delightful to deal with and very knowledgeable.

Carrie was super helpful too in asmasmuch as she reserved my shoe for me and went beyond the call of duty to make sure that I got this when I needed it

Really large store. Wide choice of outdoor clothing and equipment. One of the best Black's stores I've been in too. Staff were helpful when trying on shoes and seemed knowledgeable.

Good selection of high quality outdoor equipment and clothing, including shoes. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. From being greeted at the door, right until checkout, they were very accommodating and happy to answer any queries. Top brands featured in this store, and also equipped with changing rooms so you can try before you buy. Good prices (some products slightly expensive however very much acceptable for quality and usefulness) and discounts as well, especially when combined with a discount / DofE card. Overall a good place to go if you're nearby and looking for camping / outdoor products.

I recently purchased a North Face jacket from Blacks in Basingstoke and was disappointed to subsequently find that the Blacks website was offering a 15% discount for online and in store purchases if you quoted SPRING15....which clearly I didn't.
However, having spoken to the manager at Blacks Basingstoke they quickly offered to refund the difference, which was very much appreciated!

Very helpful and friendly staff. I wanted a small table and four chairs. Without hesitation, staff opened the box so I could check the product. Great discount on the item.

Really great store. We chose this over Mountain Warehouse and Tresspass. VERY Good selection of clothes, shoes/walking shoes (very good quality) camping and sporting goods. Excellent selection of backpacks (Which was why we were there!). Very clean, beautiful nice store. Excellent caring staff!! Thank you!!

Really helpful, great service

Went to buy some walking boots. The assistant was very attentive and I tried on many pairs. However I had to return them a week later as they weren't suitable. The second sales assistant was great and gave great advice. I exchanged the original pair of boots. I also got some walking socks at a great price. The range of products is extensive and the prices are very good. I highly recommend Blacks for your outdoor clothing and footwear.

Went today with my wife to buy her new walking boots. Greeted on entering the store, she was assisted by a knowledgeable young man, another older assistant found an O.S. map for me that was miss-filed, without his help I would not have found it. Left shop feeling well served and valued customers. Shop clean and smart. Plenty of end-of-season sale items.

Great outdoor equipment shop located in the malls. Friendly and helpful staff.

One of not many places where you go and the staff actually knows what they are selling. They have knowledge in the specific areas. Big thank you to Ash for looking after me and for helping to make the decision. Thanks to his advisers I left quite big sum in the store and not walked away to shop in the internet.
