Up & Running Basingstoke

Absolutely lovely in up and running Basingstoke. Swedish gentlemen (Richard) was so nice, he listened and was so knowledgeable. He made me feel at ease. I was very nervous about going in. I'm running London marathon this year and just needed someone to give advice. Thank you so much for all the time you gave. I had a gait analysis and you talked me through it all. So kind and helpful. Great service from Paul during my two visits yesterday. He spent time, as he does every time I buy new running shoes to ensure I get the correct shoes. That I am still running in my 69th year speaks volumes.
In the afternoon I took my 10 year old granddaughter in to the shop for her first shoe fitting and gait analysis. She has cerebral palsy that affects her legs and her gait is far from perfect. Paul found a pair of shoes that worked well with her physio made orthotics. She loved the shoes saying they were by far the most comfortable she had ever had but the important thing to me was she was walking and running with a better Gait than she had ever done before.

Exemplary service following a gait analysis at the Basingstoke store. The Swedish store rep (very sorry I do not know your name!) was a fountain of knowledge and felt no judgement whatsoever. I ended up purchasing a pair of fitted shoes without feeling pressured at all, which is much appreciated and very refreshing. Would highly recommend!

Amazing service here. We’ve been back three times to get me, my husband and teenage daughter running shoes. Plenty of choice and advice. The staff are all very knowledgable and friendly, and without judgement as to how much/often you run. So whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner putting in lots of miles a week, this place is great.

Went here for a gait analysis today and I was so impressed with the excellent service and helpfulness of the staff. I was there for over an hour and the man helping me went above and beyond - let me try on lots of trainers, gave plenty of advice, and ensured I was getting the best trainers I could. Can't recommend this place enough!

I experienced my first gait analysis at Up & Running in Basingstoke and learnt lots of new information; was provided with excellent service and came out with a new pair of trainers that were right for my feet. The lady who performed the analysis not only informed me of my running technique, but she offered me advice and answers for various questions that I had. Thank you!

I have been to Up and Running twice now in past few months, both times its been amazing service. Take the time to discuss what you want and then help you make best choice, Also really good after sales care and customer service. Highly recommend.

Great experience. I went in looking for a new road shoe and was shown a great selection of shoes. Richard took the time to explain the benefits and differences, ultimately allowing me to make a good decision. Will be returning for their Monday evening 5km runs!

Popped into Up and Running yesterday, The lady serving was helpful from the get go, did a gait analysis and she was very patient and supportive whilst I tried the many pairs on and got back on the treadmill each time. Would definitely recommend, quality service by Molly and came away with a great pair of new shoes.

Went there to get basic running gear, as a complete novice. Nicola was very helpful and took a good deal of time to ensure I had the best shoes etc. Checking later, I found the prices to be similar to what they would have been online, so a great experience and very good value.

I cannot praise Richard and this shop highly enough. Richard certainly knows his stuff and spent an hour with me trying different trainers watching me run etc ( the shop was quiet!) he listened to everything I said and matched me perfectly.. conscious of my budget the whole time. If you need any help with trainers for running get yourself over to Basingstoke.. London Marathon I’m ready to take you on!…. Sub 4!

Great service from Nicola. Had gait analysis and was encouraged to try on many different shoes to find right ones for me. Would highly recommend this store. Did my first run in my road shoes and I love them 😀

Went to Up & Running today to have a gait analysis, really helpful lady helped me. She suggested I try on a number of running shoes to make sure I was buying the most comfortable option. I have started jogging after many years of little exercise and I was so pleased to have a friendly welcome and good customer service. Thank you 👍

Great shop. A bit out of the way from then other shops but well worth a trip. Helpful staff and a fairly decent range in running shoes. Definitely return for my next pair.

Visited the Basingstoke branch in order to get new shoes, I don't use running shoes for running, but because I have problems with feet and lower leg muscles that make comfort and support important. the assistant was very helpful and was quite happy that I try several pairs before finding the pair I needed, just great service and understanding of my needs, thank you.

Small shop with excellent customer service.
I started "running" last year as a way to decompress after work (nurse). I have had a bad ankle since I was a child after an injury that didn't heal properly when I was a ballet dancer and as I have increased my activity I found ankle complaining. My chiropractor assessed me as an overpronator and suggested I change my neutral shoes.
The team did a gait analysis, showed it to me and then gave me options to try. The difference was shocking and after walking around the shop for a while as I couldn't decide between two pairs I chose one and left very happy.
I have done my first run with them and my ankle is not complaining so much, I hope it stays like that.

I popped in this afternoon to get some proper running shoes, having just started running again after 5 or so years. The service was amazing, and after a gait analysis I was given plenty of options to try on and decide what I liked. The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable and give a real personal touch to the process.
