It's a good Shop to buy things eg, bread, milk, etc. Always a friendly staff, if you're not sure what you are looking for, you can ask & they can find it for you.

Despite the fact that I like the staff I won' be going back here.

They are really lovely, easy to get along with and competent and cheerful. I know this because I have been visiting this shop for over five years.

But ownership changed a while ago, and now they refuse to provide exchanges or refunds for defective products.

It doesn't matter what you put on your wall about refunds or exchanges for faulty goods. A retailer has to provide those things for faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.

And besides that it is good manners.

I was banned from buying e-cigs and vapes just for demanding that they obey the law and for getting an exchange.

So for £2 of profit the owners lose a regular long term customer, and the get this review.

Way to go.

The below was how I reviewed this place previously.

But no more.

Despite the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 clearly stating that retailers have to offer exchanges or refunds for faulty goods they sell this shop has a posted policy that for e-cigs neither exchanges nor refunds will be given if the e-cig doesn't work.

On August 13th I bought such a faulty e-cig, and I went and obtained an exchange by asserting my rights under the aforementioned Act.

Today when I returned to the store to buy my daily dose of nicotine I was told that I, and my wife who played no part in yesterday's events, were no longer welcome to visit their shop.

Just to be clear, just because a retailer posts a policy doesn't mean they don't have to obey the law.

Ownership of this Premier changed since my original review, and besides the above they have put one of their adult children on Post Office duties.

He is a perfectly nice individual, but he is not very adept at post office duties.

Getting things in the mail takes a lot longer than it used to.

For that reason I had largely stopped going there.

Now of course I don't have a choice in the matter.

Old review
A decent corner store and despite what the grump above has to say about it a competent and courteous staff for both the post office and convenience store.

They sell bread, milk, booze and stamps. It’s clean. They’re polite, good humoured, good natured, and friendly without being unctuous.

They are also, crucially, well trained and very competent with respect to post office matters.

They only have one Post Office counter though, so don't show up at 4:30 on a weekday with a package you HAVE to get in the mail bag by 5:15.

Was told to leave because of racial profilng (i had my hood on in the shop as it was a cold day). Staff member made a big deal about there's a supposed store policy because of the post office. There is no sign or notice of this "policy". I argued my point about the fact that my hood doesn't prevent identifying my face, the same staff member then told another member of staff to not serve me considering i didn't actually do anything wrong. The other staff member was more than willing to serve but then sheepishly said that she has bee told to not serve me, so i sense a bit of inhouse bullying. Will not be going back again

The post office service in this shop is appalling. They treat it and it's customers like an inconvenience.
Sometimes when collecting a parcel you are asked for ID, sometimes you aren't. At all times you are treated as though they do not want your business.

And to be told you can't collect a parcel by a stoney faced, unsympathetic and untrained individual. Because the woman who does it is 'on her break' Is absolutely disgusting. These people badly need customer service training.
