SO lucky to have this little greengrocers local to us in dinbych (Denbigh) .Had used to have a weekly box delivery which was a fantastic way of challenging myself to try new recipes - all seasonal of course! As we grow some of our own veg and fruit, I now find it more convenient to pop in to the shop when I can to top up. Love the Saturday markets - even easier to get to for those of us working Mon - Fri, and always good to meet some of the other invited local producers.

Highly recommend this organic grocer / veg shop. The difference in taste with the organic products is remarkable. The shop was recently extended (c. Oct 2024) and provides much needed space for more goodies. If you’ve any questions the guys are always helpful ….

Can't believe it's been 5 years of boxes from the Vale Grocer! Still excited every Weds morning to open the front door and see what the veg fairy has left :-) I'm vegan, so the weekly veg box has transformed my diet from previous tasteless supermarket veg. The seasonal veg in the box drives our cooking for the week, makes us more imaginative as well as healthier. Wonderful people too, so much energy and enthusiasm, doing so much for the environment and society. Looking forward to the ten year anniversary?!!!!!! Diolch yn fawr eto!!!! xxx

The fruit and veg from The Vale Grocer is outstanding! I won’t go anywhere else for my fruit and veg now, love buying tasty local, organic produce that doesn’t come wrapped in plastic! It’s great to be able to pop into the shop and pick up eggs, milk and pantry staples such as pasta, tinned tomatoes and coffee as well as the fresh produce on offer. The fruit and veg box delivery service is fantastic too. I’ve tried vegetables I wouldn’t normally come across otherwise and Liz and Chris are really helpful with advice, ideas and recipes. Very highly recommended.

We have been getting the veg box from Liz and Chris for almost 2 years now and love it, so much so that we recently added a fruit box onto our order. It's such a relief to know where it's come from and the effort that they put in on our behalf to ensure it's responsibly sourced or even home grown! We only have to go to the shops for the odd bit now, and means we don't fill up the bin with all the veg/fruit wrapped plastic like you get in some supermarkets. The boxes arrive every week early in the morning, no matter the weather, and perfectly suit the two of us for a full week. You can sign up to the newsletter and see what you're going to get the following week, but we prefer the surprise and experimenting in the kitchen. A great service run by lovely people!

We highly recommend The Vale Grocer for all organic vegetable & fruit requirements and always look forward to receiving our weekly box, each Wednesday morning. We find this really good value and is packed with tasty local, organic fruit and veg.

You can always add any additional requirements 24 hours prior to delivery which is an added bonus.

Liz and Chris run an excellent operation and the whole process ticks all the green credentials. Each week they send an email to their customers, explaining what is in the boxes, the growings on behind the scenes, great links to recipes and related subjects.

They have a shop in Denbigh open on Thursday and Friday mornings which is well worth a visit to see more organic fruit and veg, locally baked sour dough, locally grown flowers and some decent ales.

We love to support local businesses, which are the lifeblood of the community, and The Vale Grocer gets top marks.

My family & I can’t recommend The ‘Vale Grocer’ highly enough. Now in our 5th year as extremely satisfied customers. To be able to buy an organic veg box & some organic fruit too, as well as being able to add extra healthy organic goodies from their website & shop to the box & have it all delivered to our door each week has been invaluable to us.
Knowing it has all been grown using organic methods is exactly what we wanted. Reducing food miles & plastic waste too has been a joy, as is eating locally grown seasonal veg.
We can honestly say in five years we have never once been disappointed & we are like kids on Christmas Day waiting to see what goodies are in our box. The benefits to our health have been remarkable & the cost of the boxes is incredible when you think of all the hard work that goes into producing them 52 weeks a year. We have actually saved a fortune over the years & cut our supermarket shop in half! We no longer shop weekly, just once a month now. Our meals are based around what is in our box & we have tried so many vegetables that we had never tried before. I personally love all the different squashes we have had over the years & they are so versatile & get added into so many meals. My daughter loves the PSB (purple sprouting broccoli & the yellow courgettes) every week you are guaranteed the good old staples of spuds, carrots & onions. You must try their Roscoff onions available in their shop sometimes too. If you are looking for a local Organic veg box with free delivery to your door, I absolutely guarantee you won’t be disappointed in Denbigh’s The Vale Grocer.
