Olivia Homestay Idukki

It was one of the best trips of my life thanks to the owner of this place. He organized several excursions for us and in two days we saw all the main attractions of Idukki. In addition, he took us to his tea factory, I am very glad to stock up on fresh tea! We lived in a small cozy house next to the owner's house. It's not hot here and very comfortable. You can use the kitchen. The owner's family are very hospitable people. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and hope to return for a longer stay. I have to say that there is very good drinking water and delicious food here

Olivia homestay ,beyond our expectations and we felt almost that we came to our relative home. The rooms were clean, very cozy and well-maintained. I would recommend this place the best, if you are looking for a homely stay in Idukki. The owner Eldhose bro is a best person of a true hospitality, he almost took care of everything and took us to all the places like a guide, driver, care taker. He has arranged some great tours, food and experiences. It's more than just a place to stay; it's a great opportunity to connect with wonderful people and a family. I would cherish these memories. Me along with my 2 brothers stayed at Mr.Eldhose's place during Dec 16th- Dec 18th 2023. This is my long post and long delayed post. Credits to Eldhose for creating memories that are so fresh that I could pen down one finally after a month of our visit.

Cleanliness : Place was maintained with top notch hygience and cleanliness. Safe place for kids and families.

Food : Eldhose ensures to take you to right places in Idukki. He treats his customers like his own guests and ensures they are properly fed. We had choice of some dishes and Eldhose used his networking to arrange the required foods.

Hospitality : If you are in Idukki, he is the Mr.Dependable and go to person. He literally knows each and everyone in the town and makes all arrangements required by guests with single phone call.

On the whole, we had a very relaxing and refreshing stay at his place. We loved his company. We made life time memories when we visited periyar tiger reserve for a Trek..!! Definitely planning to visit his place once again with our families.

Our group, consisting of 20 people, was warmly welcomed, and our stay was an absolute delight. The rooms were not only spacious but also impeccably clean and hygienic, exceeding our expectations. Every promised facility was readily available, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. What sets Olivia Homestay apart is the personal touch provided by the owner, Eldhose. His residence being right next door ensured that he was available around the clock to attend to our every need. Eldhose went above and beyond to make our visit truly memorable. From accompanying us to various tourist spots to helping us book tickets in advance (saving us from long queues), he demonstrated a level of hospitality that is truly commendable. Eldhose's recommendations for local restaurants were spot on, offering us delectable cuisine and even going the extra mile to secure timely reservations during peak hours. His consideration for our group, which included around 10 children, was evident in his efforts to ensure that our chosen destinations were not only enjoyable but also family-friendly. One of the highlights of our stay was Eldhose's thoughtful suggestion to request a trek to the sunrise and sunset points every day. Trust me when I say this, you don't want to miss these breathtaking views. It added an extra layer of beauty to an already enchanting experience. The hosts are excellent at welcoming you into their home, they have lots of knowledge about the local area and activities to do. We learnt to cook a full meal with Anju. The rooms are spacious and have effective AC.

The best trip we had yet and the best host we have met, eldose chettan and family. He is very friendly and even accompany with us for trips if required.

My experience at Olivia was nonpareil. It was like having concierge service at a five star hotel. Eldhose knows what to do and how to do it, where to go and when. Just a walk up to the bluff of his property is worth the stay. Along the ten minute walk I saw banana trees, pepper vines with fresh green pepper corns, cardamom pods at the base of formidable plants, unripe green coffee cherry's .
. . before suddenly arriving at the summit. There some 50,000 acres of national park come into view. The lake far below is actually a canyon filled with water due to a massive damm. Its depth is some 1700 feet. If lucky one could even see a family of elephants swiming across the deeps. Mountain ranges folded in jade and fog stretch as far as the eye can see. A natural rock bench awaits. A bald eagle glides below. A sense of profound peace awaits one on this hallowed ground.

This barely describes just one on the many wonders that await the intrepid traveller to Olivia.

Wonderful stay as all the attractions are well connected. The place was worth it, with an amazing view and lovely host who makes your life easier.

My husband and I had a Wonderful time in Idukki at Olivia homestay for 4 days! Eldhose brother and family were wonderful hosts and he even took us around some fascinating places. He also carries cast knowledge about the history as well as the current affairs of his district.
All in all, it was one of the best times we spent on a holiday!

This is the place to stay if you are with family and looking for a place with comfort, safety and amazing holiday experience. We stayed here for 3 nights with 2 kids and had an amazing stay. The host and his family were very courteous and ensured all our needs including food were taken care. The rooms are very well maintained and the kitchen has all facilities to cook our own food. Our host himself took us to all the sight seeing places and ensured we had the best experience everywhere. The barbecue that was arranged on the last day was awesome. The trekking to the Calvary mount view point was an amazing experience. We got to experience many things that were very unique and memorable and will stay in our memories forever. By the third day, we were like one family with the host. This is one place we would like to go back for another vacation for sure.

Kerala by itself is very divine and this location just takes the feel go to completely next level.The essence of pure air could be felt here.And if you are a mountain person like me then you should be ready to capture awestruck beautiful sites with your naked eyes.The property owner Mr.Eldhose was one of the most warmest person I have ever met.He assisted to all needs of our 18 member group with a smile and with so much ease.He never let us miss on any exciting part of the trip.This one I would surely say is my most memorable trip.

We had been to Idukki for around 3 days. The experience was beyond amazing!! The food served was homely and were signature dishes of the state. The house where we stayed had all the amenities and was very well-kept. The best part of the whole visit though were definitely the places we were taken to. Calvary Mount, Idukki dam, Jeevan Tea Estate...the list just goes on and on but to really capture the essence of these beautiful places you must visit them along the owner of the Home Stay, Mr. Eldhose. He was really friendly and welcoming and took us everywhere and enlightened us with the demographic information, history etc about each place we had been to. Brownie point was the fact that he is amazing at clicking photos! The cherry on the top was the barbecue we had at night. They also have food wifi! It was definitely one wholesome experience!

Olivia homestay is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in between the greenery. It was an awesome stay and every morning you can hear the bird songs, well maintained and spacious rooms. If you are a nature person this is the best homestay for you.The owners were very friendly and made us feel at home. Happy to have visited this place and will definitely visit again.

We were a family of 4 including 2 kids and stayed at Olivia homestay for 3 nights. The host Mr. Eldhose is one of the most friendly and accommodating person we have come across. He knows all the sight seeing places very well and is the best guide one can ask for. The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained, gives you a homely feeling. A Beautiful Quaint Homestay, Located at a beautiful place and hosted by beautiful people. You'll never regret coming to this place at all. It is quite close to so many off beat locations that are not so crowded. The owner of the stay Eldhose Chettan goes way out of his league to make sure we feel home and helps us to plan our travel to explore the place as a traveler and not as a tourist. Not only Eldhose chettan but his family is also so welcoming and makes you feel at home at all times. Definitely visiting this place every time i visit Idukki. Thanks Eldhose Chetta for making our stay memorable. Long story short, we came here as strangers, they welcomed us guests, we traveled together as friends and left there as family.

I have stayed with my family and it’s really good feel. Rooms and toilets are clean and decently maintained. For couples and family accommodations I strongly recommend. Owners of this property lives nearby and very kind in service and assisting in trekking to see Idukki full dam and town view from top of the mountain. Economic one and budget friendly. Food can be delivered at door step. You can definitely try once and you will be regular visitor for sure.
Cons: Location is bit away from Highway and less accessible for general stores and hotels. But home owner provides anything for us with no hesitations anytime.
