Anchuruli Water Falls

Anchuruli Water Falls and Lake place could be a wonderful tourist destination for those who like nature, if the concerned authorities act accordingly. The road to Anchuruli is really narrow. There is no restrooms available. A really nice place to visit.

Anchuruli tunnel and waterfalls is a less frequented tourist destination, the place is almost always mourning of much populace, and is an ideal point of serenity.
Situated along the Kattappana -Kuttikanam state highway, the place got its name from the five hillocks seen on the water that appears like five inverted vessels, when the water level goes low. Anchuruli has a large circular tunnel with a twenty five feet Diameter, through the mountain, which has 3.5 Kms length connects Erattayar and Anchuruli. There is another check dam at Erattayar. The water from the Erattayar River, flows through this tunnel and transforms into a spectacular waterfall, particularly during the monsoons. During summers, when there is less water flowing, the adventurer in you can walk through the tunnel.
Another off-beat attraction nearby is the Anchuruli Hill Top. One can cover this after a visit to Anchuruli tunnel and waterfalls.

Anchuruli tunnel is a beautiful tunnel. It is 5.5 mtrs length and 2.5m hieght. In this tunnel there is bats and snake also small pits. When we walk through the tunnel it gives an variety feel.I walked above 1km but hadn't see any snake.. Lots of bats were there.As we are more inside it gets more conjusted.

A man made wonder worth visiting. But be careful as the locality is very danger with deep ditches covered with icy cold water where expert swimmers fail. Beware of passing through the cave, full of dangers are waiting for you. Don't try to go for fishing without assistance from locally experienced persons.

There is an artificial tunnel to pass water to idukky dam which has 5.4 killowmeteer long and 2.5 meter height. It makes a waterfall on the end is very interesting. The view is good to make photos.

Idukki dam @2994 ft

The elevation of Anchuruli ranges from 740 m (2,430 ft) above mean sea level. It lies in the Kanchiyar grama panchayath in the newly formed Idukki constituency. The place can be accessed from Kanchiyar (3 km) which is on the Kattappana - Kuttikkanam state highway (SH-59).
Anchuruli, also spelled Anjuruli, is an emerging tourist destination and a catchment area of Idukki arch dam in Kanchiyar village near Kattappana in the district of Idukki in Kerala state, India. It is highly noted for the 5.5 km (3.4 mi) long circular tunnel that carries water from Erattayar dam near Kattappana to Idukki reservoir.

It is nice in rainy seasons.
