Had an incredible experience at Palkulamedu Hill View Point. The trek up the hill was rewarding, as it led to spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes. The cool breeze and peaceful ambiance made it a memorable outing, perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.

Awesome place to visit.
Nearly 3 km to hike and another 1 km up the hill. The hill is quite steep. So if you are tired, I would suggest you stay and explore the meadow. Its an elephant crossing zone.l, so be careful.
The view from up top is beautiful and a must see.

It's a heaven, But you need to take care so please read.
The place is absolutely beautiful and unforgettable and early morning is the best time.
It is 4km off-road walk to first top and high chance of wild elephants on your way. You may use off-road bike or 4x4. There are leeches on some parts of way. This walking with friends through this isolated area is an amazing experience. From the first top, you need to climb to the mountain top which really needs a good endurance. It is a steep climb for around 20 minutes😇. Bring enough water. Incredible atmosphere at top worth the effort. Kindly dont throw plastic.

Heaven on earth !!!! ... Mountains covered with mist .. Hardest climbs but it's beautiful from the top..Sometimes we can stand above the clouds wonderful experience! . About 4km of off-road to reach the mountains. Awesome to stay at night with tent and campfire. Area is almost affected with wild elephants and bulls too..Jeeps are available from town to reach to the hill top. Bikes will also reach but not a good idea..

Feels like a mini paradise. Mind-blowing experience. About 4 kms of best off road track. We can experience mist, wind and can also see elephants. Some rare flowers are growing here. Slippery and Dangerous at the time of rain. Take some water with you. One of the best place to visit.

Refreshing ❤❤ Palkulamedu is located around 12 km away from Idukki. It is a peak that stands at a towering height of 3125 m above sea level. Palkulamedu is a tourist attraction because of its pristine hills and verdant valleys that surround it. You can visit this peak any time of the year. You can go for hiking and trekking here. Palkulamedu is highly recommended for nature-lovers and those whose passion is photography.

Excellent trek. Beware of the 'shortcuts' in between though. High chances of getting lost. Awesome experience. Some 3-4km to trek

Mann.. you should go for it. climb up get some fresh air, enjoy the view, around you there, get some mesmerizing shots, (recommended :2 bottles of water , food if u need. And make sure don't put empty bottles and waste you bring up there ) and enjoy the view of paradise. Be careful when you get down.

Worth to watch sunrise from the top

Perfect place for trekking.The view point is about 2 Kilometres from the main road. The route is a rocky trail with hairpin bends all the way up to the the top, you can either trek up the hill or drive up with a capable off road vehicle. This place is not suitable for family outings. The best time to visit is early morning. At the top of the hill there is another hill which can only be climbed on foot.
Beware of wild elephants and don't forget bring plenty of water with you.

An underrated place in idukki district... Wonderful place for trekking. 3.5kms up & down. Need luck to see wildlife. Best if you reach there before 9.00 A.M. Sure you love the scenery and wind...

Palkulamedu is an incredibly beautiful place which is a guaranteed refreshment for a travelling soul. located at a distance of 12 km from Idukki in Kerala. It is addressed at an elevation of 3125 meters above from the sea level. It is an ideal destination for adventure makers and trekkers. A small fresh water pool at the top of the hill adds up another jewel to the enchanting beauty. Its due to this pool, the hill was awarded the name Pal-kulam-medu, which means a hill with pool of nutritious water in Malayalam. A view of the Periyar gorge from the Palkulamedu Peak is much admirable. The vast spans of evergreen Hills, one after another fills till the horizon and the beautiful view of Sunset and Sunrise gives makes this place an ideal view point. Through the quiet roads, the trek to Palkulamedu is through Muyalpara . The trek begins from the waterfalls. Till Mulyalpara, the trail goes through the plantations, revenue lands and forest. There are various types of medicinal plants, herbs and small streams inside this forest. From the base of muyalpara, we can see the Cheruthoni dam which is  part of the Idukki Hydroelectric Project, along with two other dams at Idukki and Kulamavu. Also near by is the  'Bhagavan Thotti '. Legend says that the Pandavas spent few days at this place and they prayed to Lord Siva. It is also said that Lord Hanuman sent an arrow from here as a result of which the mountain  moved back . Further trek goes through grass lands. Finally when you reach the top of the Palkulamedu it is an ideal fusion of pleasant weather and plentiful greenery. There is a cross on top of Palkulamedu where devotees  come on Good Friday. From this spot, we can have a distant view of  towns, including Munnar. You can also hear the whistle of the soft wind as it blows through  the mountains. The beauty of Palkulamedu is indescribable and it offers the perfect ambiance of the nature.

Google map tricked us so ask people when u have doubt.Katta off road guys ...5km of ride for the top ..bike and jeep can go there ...but tough for bikes ..if u are a offroad lover you can go there.....difficult path leads to beautyful destination

Heaven on earth.. only 4 wheel off-roaders​ can reach on top. Almost 25 Hairpin road need to cover to reach top. Beware of elephants,Night stay may dangerous..

What a Beautiful place. Trip with friends is unforgettable. The view from the peak is truly amazing. Please try to avoid plastic bags and bottles or after use take back them with you. It's forest area and plastic is prohibited by forest department

Either go by a bike or rent a jeep to reach uphill.The scenic beauty at the top is too good. Suggests this place who loves off ride trips since the pathways towards this hill is somewhat risky. Good spot for all who love off roads and nature.
