Complete step by step guide to reaching Suruli Falls
1. Reach Suruli Falls Toll Gate - you can park your vehicles here. No vehicles (autos or cars or buses) allowed beyond this point. There is a narrow bridge beyond the toll, after which too there is small car park. Better to park before itself. Note - if you are taking food with you, better to eat here itself. Some of the shops there give floor mats under a canopy so you can sit and eat. Food likely won't be allowed up and there a pesky monkeys all around as you go up.

2. Cross the narrow bridge and reach the Suruli Falls Gate. This is a short 100 to 200 meter walk.

3. Once you cross the large green iron gates, you can walk to see the forest authorities toll gate. Entry is roughly 30 rupees for adults. You also find forest merchandise here - t shirts, Keychains labelled SMTR, and a large tourism department map of nearby landmarks.

4. Just after this toll, the forest officials bus will stop and pick you to take you to the stairs that lead to the water fall. This is Rs. 10 per head and is recommended for elderly. This bus trip takes 3 mins. Otherwise, it is a ten to fifteen minute brisk walk with beautiful terrain and deciduous forest trees all around. Can be walked bare foot too by some - not at all rough terrain. For those who can walk, I recommend not taking the bus.

5. Once you finish the walk or reach the stopping point of the bus, you need to climb roughly 100 stairs to reach the waterfall. Can be done by elderly too because stairs are not very high.

The waterfall area itself is likely somewhat crowded on most days. Ladies path is seperate from gents, seperated by a barricade at the water fall bathing area. Not too much privacy but decent enough.

If you plan on visiting - do take spare clothes and towels, fortunately there are plenty of sheds / built areas to change your clothes in private, even for ladies.

Security is always there keeping an eye out.

There's a small square pool area in front of the falls where kids can play too before the Falls drop. The water itself Falls with quite some pressure, so it's not for the faint hearted.

A lot of poeole come drunk to the Falls. Idiots of the highest order (don't be an idiot). People use soap in the Falls area itself - which also makes the water very murky in the natural pool where kids bathe. Don't do that either. There's a separate hose which continously supplies fresh water ob the stair case. Use that instead.

A wonderful time spent with nature... The falls timing is 8am to 4pm. The falls was full of water as it was heavy rainy season. There are good number of changing rooms for both male and females. Tourist should carry good number of water proof bags to return back the wet clothes. A thing of caution please don't open any food packets as there are highly vigilant monkeys they come and attack as a huge gang and rampage your belongings. The monkeys are smart and well trained to open any kinds of zip and packagings ... The light dims around 5pm so reach early enjoy more and return before it darkens...

Excellent waterfalls I went to this fall with my family. We really enjoyed it. My suggestion was you plan 12-3pm range time because I think after that the water chillness will be high.

This place gives a chance to go for a short family trek.
Even elderly people can enjoy
A walk in nature with monkeys and very tall trees

Cons: usage of shampoo and soaps can be avoided while bathing in the falls .

Been to several water falls but I would rate this the best.💗

Parking is hassle-free.🏍🚗🚐

Don't go in shuttle service by the forest department, walking is great.💪

Take necessary things like towel, camera and slippers must. (Try to avoid soaps and shampoos)🐃

We reached around 4 PM and had a blissful 1 hour bath. Not so crowded, even if it is, they can't handle the heat of the falls.😎

Water therapy at its best.🤗👌

Suruli falls is beautiful. People from Tamilnadu visited here with their families to enjoy the waterfalls with open air bathing. 😇😂👍.
Water is seen only the rainy season. Two kilometer of walking distance. Walking along the forest area.very calm and pleasant. Monkeys are there. One thing to be more careful 😂. If you enjoy the bath in the open air. Your dress is kept carefully. Otherwise monkeys will take off😂😂. They look in your hand there is some packet, they think 🤔 it's eatables, so be carefull about your dress😂😂.

"Beautiful scenery" "Excellent Climate"
If you want to get away from your normal life, choose this place. We have to walk around for 15-20 minutes from the mail gate to fall, surrounded by greenery and river on both sides. It really worth it.

Suruli falls is a must visit when you are on vacation in Theni. It is a small falls but climate will be awesome to be here.

It's a 1km walk (not exactly a trek) to reach from the base station. Entry fees is 30rs and you can avail shuttle for 10rs one way from forest department.

Falls water flow purely depend on rain wall in Megamalai mountains. Ideal to visit on Southwest monsoon and after offset.

Sanitation can be improved as it a major attraction in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Bonus, you can get good grapes from farms on the way to Suruli falls on negotiate price.
