Excellent Beach located near a Danish fort. Well maintained beach has historical touch everywhere. A well built colony with beautiful buildings and Church built in 1900s. Has enough parking and 4star hotel near by beach for stay. There is a Harbour View Point near this don't miss that too. Evening and Morning times would be giving us an excellent view and climate around it.

Great place to hand out with friends. It has a beach attached to it so you can enjoy scenic view of the shore. You will also understand the history behind the fort during the Danish invasion and British period. The fort also has a museum inside it where the historic importance can be understood in detail.

An old Danish Fort that is located at the seashore. The entrance fees is about ₹5 and inside a museum is also there where some artifacts, paintings are kept. Nearby beach is there but no one is allowed to bath as sea waves are high here. Good place to visit for a day. There are set of buildings nearby like governors bungalow which was used during British rule.

A nice fort overlooking the beach. The view from the fort is awesome. The fort can be maintained better though. Has several artifacts and paintings. Will take around 15 mins from thirukadaiyur.

This fort shows a lot about the Danish and Indian Culture about 500 years back and how they used to live. But It could be a bit well maintained by the Indian Government. It should be renovated and then it would be the best. Just outside the fort there is a beach where you can enjoy with kids there was horse 🐴 Ride too Outside the fort. So I think it is a good Place to spend an evening with your Family and Friends .

Dutch fort,- entry ticket , by ASI
First foreign missionary to India Seaganpalk reached Tranquanbaur holding records of many first things done in india.
Adjoining port was a trading point for Danish.
Great fort standing close to beach having benches where one can sit and enjoy the sea.
A museum once with lot of artifacts and historical documents but now is retaining very few.
LOWER or ground level of fort has storage godowns, granaries, jail, animal housing- stables, tunnel, central open area with a well.
First floor has officers room and prists room, which faces the beach and now maintained as a staff room and museum.
There is a bungalow on the beach just opposite to fort now actually a resort.
An must visit old church with a cemetery on the way to fort.
Stay time 2 hours.
Have water with you.
Some ice cream and other shops do operate.

Good place to visit.
The lower compartment in the basement adjoining the fort was used as a store room, prison and a rest room for the soldiers, while the governor and priests resided in the second level. This Fort was the base for Danish settlement.

(Visited in September 2023) - Fort Dansborg is the second largest fortification ever built by Danes and harks back to the colonial era of Denmark - Norway's colonial possessions in India. The fort was built in c.1620s CE and housed trade and missionary activities of Danes, before it was sold to the British in c.1840s CE. Now, the fort houses a museum.

A very beautiful fort, built during three Danish times. Still standing strong and currently being used as a memorial of the Danish culture being lived there, years ago. Interestingly they also have ruled us for a short while. This is a will planned fort with cannons, a pier for the ships to dock, jails, storage space surrounded by tall walls. I must say that it is a well protected fort by looking at the structure. Distance from the sea is very short, making the transportation of goods easy as and when they arrive from Denmark. You might wanna check the timings because they keep changing it though.
