This mythological place is a hidden gem full of serenity. Best place to click pictures with beautiful background and there is also a hanuman ji temple in between, some herbs shop are also there which are rare to find anywhere else. Just beware of the monkeys roaming near the entrance, you can feed them if you want. A must visit place for nature lovers.

Sonmuda in Amarkantak is truly a hidden gem that took my breath away. The natural beauty of this place is beyond compare. Surrounded by lush greenery, tranquil streams, and captivating hills, Sonmuda offers a peaceful escape from the bustling world.

During my visit, I was mesmerized by the stunning landscapes and the serene atmosphere. The air felt pure and rejuvenating, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and those seeking solace.

The only downside I noticed was the lack of proper facilities and amenities, which could have enhanced the overall experience. Despite this, Sonmuda's untouched beauty makes it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and experience tranquility like never before.

Surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery, it is a natural tourist spot where you can spend some quality time with your family and friends. One can also get to see many temples around the Kund. There is also a viewpoint in Sonmuda, from where you can get a panoramic view of the valley. The view of sunrise and sunset from this viewpoint is spectacular.

View is awesome from here. But 5 minutes small walk on huge steps downstairs. Worth the walk.

Lot of monkeys, stunning view of forest from viewpoint here. Monkeys are too dangerous here. They will not harm if you give them food but be careful. They can snatch anything off your hand including mobile.

Sonmuda is a tourist attraction located in Amarkantak. Son river has its origin in Sonmuda. Sonmuda has two pools named Son and Bhadra. These two kunds are collectively called Sonbhadra. In Sonmuda you get to see a pool, in which you get to see the water flowing from the Gomukh. A pandit ji is sitting here, who gives you information about Sonmuda. There is also a viewpoint built in Sonmuda, which gives you a very picturesque view. Sonmuda will be about 1 to one and a half kilometer away from Narmada temple of Amarkantak. You can also reach this place on foot.

A nice and beautiful view point which is the origin point of River Shon. I think this is a sunrise view point, but even it looks nice during the other time of the day. There are wild monkeys, do not feed or approach them because that might lead them to attack. Also, DO NOT have food with you when you are there, and leave your hands out of your pocket. If you leave them alone, they usually don't do anything.

Amarkantak is origin of many rivers, primarily of Narmada and Sone. River Sone originates at a place called Sonmuda which is about one kilometer from the origin of Narmada. Sone and Bhadra are two streams originating almost at the same place and these two merge to make river Sonbhadra. It falls for 300 feet just 150 feet away from its origin. Such a lovely view, one cant ignore.
