Barddhaman Station

This is one of the important Junction of Eastern Railway which connects Howrah Junction in one side, Asansol route at the other and in another side it will go upto Katwa Junction.

Barddhaman Junction Railway Station (station code: BWN) is a railway junction station on the Howrah–Delhi main line and is located in Purba Bardhaman District in the Indian state of West Bengal. EMU services from Howrah along Howrah–Bardhaman main line and Howrah–Bardhaman chord terminate at Bardhaman. Every day, over 300 express/mail/SF trains halt here, making it one of the busiest and important junction railway station in Eastern India. It serves Bardhaman, the fifth most populous city in West Bengal.

Barddhaman Junction is an important station in the Eastern Railway zone. Trains from Howrah, Sealdah, Kolkata towards Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Gaya etc. go through the station. The station consists of eight platforms.

The first passenger train ran from Howrah to Bardhaman on 15 August 1855.

The track was extended to Raniganj by 1855.[3]

The Howrah–Bardhaman chord, a shorter link to Bardhaman from Howrah than the Howrah–Bardhaman main line, was constructed in 1917.[4]

Bardhaman–Katwa line was upgraded from NG to BG in 2014 (up to Balgona) and extended up to Katwa in 2018.

The third musketeer among the famous Three----Howrah, Sealdah and Barddhaman, Barddhaman Railway Junction Is a very important Junction Station on Howrah --Delhi Main Line and is located in Purba Bardhaman.This always busy and crowded station is nodoubt the life source of Bardhaman, the "Rice-Bowl" of India. This station has eight platforms, a pay and use modern toilet, seperate restrooms for men and women and some good eateries👌👌. This station of Eastern Railway Divison is the terminate point of Howrah - Bardhaman Main Line and Howrah - Bardhaman Chord Line. Howrah-Allahabad-Mumbai line, Bardhaman-Azimganj, Bardhaman-Katwa, Bardhaman-Asansol------these are other tracks passes through Bardhaman. The station is developing, many modern facilities are now available like Escalater but as passengers are numerous, more modern passenger-friendly measures need to be introduce. Though there are two overbridges, another one is the need of the hour.

Very beautiful station, very neet and clean house keeping in the floor of platform. People get train for different locations and good behavior of staffs.

Beware of pickpocketers. Other than that, all good. You can get transport to all the places of Bardhaman from outside of the station. Bus, toto, reserved cars, you name it. Everything is available.

All routes trains are available here ... Cold drinking water also there in platform 1 ... Many type of first food you got here... For security there are RPF all time round the area

You will get almost every thing around the station starting from guesthouses, eateries and sweet shop to grab some something quickly....and yes it is quite a busy station since Bardhaman junction is one of the significant railway stations of Howrah Delhi line....✌

Very neat and clean. ATM counters and transportation is very smooth. Food outlets are also placed.

One of the busiest station.Everyday 300+ express/mail/SF trains hault here making it one of the most busiest and important junction railway station in Eastern India.

Overall good. Station is neat and clean. From Station to bus stand distance is so longer than other railway station. Burdwan is a middle position of South Bengal as per railway station. Most of the Train Stop here and the passenger of this station is very high than other stations.

It's better than almost all other stations in West Bengal.

Very nice place with seating and floating staircase. The place is fairly clean and you will find food shops around it. And get out and about.

Good interconnect trains we are getting for North Bengal. Lots of express and local trains are being stopped and departed via this station. Just need to improve the passenger waiting facility and need more cleanliness.

Lovely architecture. All over India you may travel by train from here.

This is one of the busiest stations in the entire part of the south Bengal and Old station also. Train towards howrah, sealdah and other parts of the country available here. Very much clean station and all kind of service available there. Good communication available here and location is prime as it can be accessed by local vehicle also.

This is my first time visit here very good place... The ticket counter is outside the station so that you have to take the ticket first from outside then enter to the platform...
